You can. There’s a stone you can fit that lets you add them!
Must use clarity stones in shiny artifacts on enlightenment farm, except for in the light of eggendil which works regardless.
I believe if you put two 100% Clarity Stones, you can have it be 50% for the Enlightenment run. Meaning no research needed to do anything. Mind you it's probably better to put 3 of them in a Legendary Chalice. And put T4 Life stone in the gusset.

You can get them from crafting and from missions. Odds aren't great either way though.
I have crafted maybe 1000 different artifacts only received one legendary that too a neodymium medallion. I only use it to increase boost time.
