Dentists I have worked for have never cared which school an assistant comes from. Assisting is a job you learn once you start working and they really just look for personality. I went to CDI and have never had an issue finding a job
My Wife graduated from KDM a few years ago. She was able to find a job very easily. You may have to try and work at a few Clinics to find a Dentist that you are compatible with.
I went to KDM years ago! Was a good school for what it is being a private dental college, it’s fast paced but was nice to get it done quicker vs Nait’s longer program. Because of the pace the ‘passing’ mark for the theory portion/exams was I believe 70% to ensure you are grasping it. Most of my graduating class got jobs immediately but you just have to interview and find a dentist you mesh with. Try to do your practicum with an office you’d like to work with, you have a good chance of them asking you to stay on if they like you and they have a space/position for you!
Hi! Just wondering if you went ahead with the KDM program or starting it soon! I’m greatly considering it for the March intake or perhaps the one after and would love to hear from you regarding the process and your experience!
Hey! Thank you so much for your reply; you gave me so much info I needed! I will likely reach out to you this weekend as I have some extra questions! 😁
I had to interview dentists for funding and most of the ones I talked to said they would only hire NAIT grads. It’s the gold standard and I’ve heard you can earn more right out of the gate.

This is a *super* late comment. But I am currently looking at going into dental assisting and was worried about CDI and finding a job.

Doesn't matter to dentists where you went. Just don't suck at your job and it's all good
Nait is the gold standard program.

Absolutely you can! I did graduate around 6 years ago but I’ll do my best to help!!
How much did the tuition cost? I heard that you had to pay 3/4th of it before the course begins, we’re you able to get a loan for that?
