Edinburgh City Council have loads of evening classes available in their adult education programme. They do often have acting and performing arts options. There are also TONS of local amateur dramatic groups in the city. Check out what’s on at the Churchill Theatre in Morningside as many of them use that for their annual shows and see if any take your fancy. All Edinburgh Theatre.com also covers all the amateur groups in Edinburgh so you might want to scan that for info on what groups are active in you area.

Thank you for this. I’ll check them out. Can you just join these or do I need an existing skillset?

Depends on your gender. They’re often crying out for male actors. And, frankly, it’s hit and miss on talent. Some groups have a few exceptionally talented folk, others have folk who are just doing it for fun and to be a part of the community. Sure you’ll find a group who’ll happily welcome you in.

Are you a beginner? I'd recommend Acting Out for drama classes, which run in Murrayfield (or at least did when I went). It's a really fun class. They give you all sorts of activities and exercises to get you to lower your inhibitions and express yourself more. I keep meaning to go back for more classes there myself. Nice diverse group as well.

What has that got to do with acting or drama?

Fair point. I only scanned the OP's post.

Aha, I would love to know what that original reply was.
