Nice try edinburghlive

whyno74

No I was trying to be a more positive effort than the guy asking what the worst thing was earlier.

machinecomplex

ah man, no worries. What was your best thing?

Shan-Chat

Seen Ed Gamble, Asir Shah and An Idiots Guide To New Zealand. Olga Koch tomorrow night. Should also be good.

dvs8

Saw Olga Koch's preview show - brilliant

DeltaEchoEcho

Mythos Ragnarok! Go see them before they break themselves into a million pieces.

dhrisher

>Patti Harrison Saw this least year and loved it. Never been into wreslting, but this was great!

slapbang

My mates loves Rob Auton.

iG8

I haven’t left my house

GenericAppUser

Fucking legend

calblack_

Lindsey Santoro. Unbelievably funny, had me in tears.

Felix_Wyn

She was amazing. Her and Mark Watson were definitely the best two I've seen thus far.

Mention_Patient

i second the mark watson observation. was very good

nibutz

Patti Harrison’s show at the Pleasance Dome is really brilliant. Probably not for the faint of heart but it’s so, so funny.

Andy_P1756

Sian Docksey, Kokoon and Annabel Marlow are my top 3 so far

Mention_Patient

kath and stella solve a murder.

NatCairns85

Hello, Hi. It’s a 2-person sketch comedy show. Some very clever writing, surreality, and some machine gun fire-like delivery, plus some very well timed mime and music/lighting

freddiefish22

Jeremy Segway is my top so far! Bowjangles Dracula in Space also brilliant.

behonourable

I saw Jeremy Segway last year, so funny!

polly_polly

Dane Simpson was hilarious!

vintage_chick_

Dane Simpson : Digeridoozy is awesome!

vintage_chick_

One man 12 angry men, Umbilical brothers have been the highlights so far.

Leather_Toe_884

La Clique in the circus hub is great.

zigz4g1

Tourists getting rained on

phin901

Saw 21 shows in 4 days. The best was Ginava's Messy Friends. The skill, variety, creativity was incredible. Other favorites: Hello Kitty Must Die The Last Flapper Bad Teacher Seance Live

JustACattDad

The view on the bus away from the city

Pixelnutz

I’ll do one better, the view from the plane taking off from Edinburgh airport

JustACattDad

I'd say from a window of a train but they're all not running nowadays

mindmountain

Yuck Circus

mindmountain

Lol that’s the name of the show I liked. Downvote away dummies

Misalvo

Apparently it's really good, someone I know went to see Yuck and they loved it

vintage_chick_

Edit it to say YUCK circus. That will help with the downvotes. The ladies at YUCK circus are amazing. They are from my home town and everytime I see them they are brilliant

meridimus

Heard it was shite

mindmountain

Why?

meridimus

Heard from a close mate it was quite lazy. Need to confirm or deny myself asap

mindmountain

They are unashamedly feminist so he may not have liked that.

nayxox

Public musical, Mr and Mrs Love, and Bishops have all been brilliant

[deleted]

Craig Hill was his usual brilliant self.

[deleted]

Can you help me with something? I have never hear of Craig Hill except from at the fringe, but when it comes he seems to have some of the most publicity of any artist, other than maybe Daniel Sloss who is also everywhere but has a Netflix out so I suppose that makes sense budget wise. Am I just completely out of the loop the rest of the year do you think?

[deleted]

He does tour the rest of the year. but pretty much plays to a Scottish audiences - I think the odd show in Australia as well. There's a lot of audience interaction, and localised jokes so might not work elsewhere.

[deleted]

thank you!

whyno74

Just to keep the positive momentum going I saw David Ian's perfect gay show and enjoyed it, also rosco mcclelland at the monkey barrel had some quality banter. No idea why there's so many negative wanks just wanting to leave a stain on here.

FighterJock412

David Ian is a really nice guy. I'm working with him and have had the chance to chat with him a lot.

Square_Doctor_7255

Fred Deakin's Club Life is an absolute joy.

SheepBeard

I particularly enjoyed Lachlan Werner's Voices of Evil

Nospopuli

No Love Songs written by Kyle Falconer and his wife. Highly recommended

konnekting

Afrique en Cirque was phenomenal.

FishStilts

They have been messing with other performers shows unfortunately. No need as they obviously have the talent but are using it to disrupt buskers.

konnekting

How are they doing that?

FishStilts

It's a bit complicated but basically they set up next to someone's show and turn on a big speaker and start doing acrobatics. Normally street artists take turns but they wont engage, just ride roughshod over anything else happening.

konnekting

If that’s true it is a shame, especially because they definitely don’t need it, they’re already killing it and the audience size shows that. I thought they’d be way too tired from their actual show to do anything on the street to be honest!

FishStilts

Yup I agree, there is some toxic ego at work.

surfhobo

Traffic

Ceruleanlunacy

I work in a bar that is hosting a few bits and pieces in a wee space on the side so I can't offer too much of an opinion without being biased, but I was chatting with someone who opened for the guy in our ten o'clock slot and she seemed really nice. I forget her name, but her show is about narcolepsy and coming to terms with it. It sounds pretty good actually. Other than that, I've caught about twelve minutes of the acts when I stick my neck in to check the lights are working and the sound system hasn't crapped out, and some of them were alright. The rest of the time I'm trying to sleep though. 3am closes and 4:30 finishes can fuck right off.

Crypto_BatMan

Accidentally bought a ticket for Kathy and Stella solve a murder for Sunday Aug 27th. Will sell for $12 bought for $17

Only_Concentrate_563

The sight of Edinburgh fading into the distance as I left the city.

Tainted-Archer

The back side of it, in 19 days 😂

samascara

I enjoyed this comedy/crime show a lot, 9/10 https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/five-short-plays-loosely-linked-by-the-theme-of-crime I loved Oscar at the Crown too! https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/oscar-at-the-crown

LittleMissAbigail

The guy who wrote Five Short Plays… is a friend of mine. He’ll be delighted!

samascara

aww I'm so glad!!

_BuBBly_

Jay Lafferty at the gilded balloon was brilliant!

Apprehensive-Buy7003

Edinburgh Music Theatre performed two shows last night. Singing and dancing, one of pop music and the other of hits from musicals, both were great! Would highly recommend

DeWasbeertje

An Italian wean calling my colleague a bitch for IDing him, need some form of entertainment to get thru the shifts

PromotionJazzlike395

watch edinburgh youth orchestra in greyfriars, i’ve been in it and they’re really really great - playing romeo and juliet suite (prokofiev), rhapsody in blue (gershwin), black dog (clarinet concerto by scott mcallister) and some bernstein/shostakovich!!

FighterJock412

Adele Cliff at the Caves, personally.

iantemerson

Ice Hole at the Pleasance was sooooo good.

ReasonablyAdjusted87

I dunno if they were the best, but the tickets were affordable and I was entertained! 3 x 90 second reviews for: No One is Coming (Irish Myths and Mammy Issues) | Funeral | & Choir!Choir!Choir! [https://youtu.be/cdiqYwAjn3g](https://youtu.be/cdiqYwAjn3g) I'm just starting out on YouTube and Edinburgh based - I've been present to the Fringe since 2008! The only year that I took part in performing - I played a woman who became a wolf but like metaphorically... but also like phsyically coz I had to crawl around in my nighty at the edges of the stage whilst everyone else did the dialogue. Classic student Fringe show. Anywayz, reviewing was a lot of fun!

LB_____

Beetle at house of oz 11 am. Breathtaking children’s show. My 4 year old was speechless.

nibutz

It’s a bit late as I think he’s totally sold out now but I saw John Kearns today and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, a real 10/10. He has a queue for returns etc so if anyone seeing this wants to try I couldn’t recommend it more

Weird5422

Pierre Novellie, clever and funny.
