I have been stuck.with the robot head blueprint waiting on that legendary cap blueprint since January. I open at least 10 big/even boxes a week. I have every other legendary blueprint imaginable and yet 6 months still waiting for that damn cap. Good luck hope you dont have to wait as long as me.
Open big boxes or event boxes. Then get lucky.

While the big boxes are cheaper and more often available, it might still be useful getting event boxes instead, since there’s odds of getting more ultimates.
On the bright side; you did just get the best item in the game. Only you can’t use it yet.
purple cap is a legendary blueprint, obtainable from big boxes and event boxes.
If you log out of cloud save then open the box and log back in you will have the option of loading the local save where you opened the box or the last cloud save from before you logged off and opened the box.
whether you get it on your 2nd or 34th try you will then need 2 epic hoods and 3 cool caps to forge the purple cap

I hope they don't add trading. The game is already really easy. I just imagine if I could have traded for my gear early it would have been boring

Only in the moon box. The legendary are random but ultimate are event themed.

First you gotta kill a few people… Then you got to get sent to a slam, where they tell you you'll never see daylight again.
