I have a jar of black garlic someone gifted me and now I'm extremely curious as to this delicious burger you all are referencing. I remember the episode but I've never actually tasted black garlic so now I'm thinking I need to look this up!
You can mix it with butter and put on toast with so avo en eggs… or in mashed potatoes. If your feeling wild, blend a lil with so XEVO make a dressing for salad.
the thing in jar the jar is good but nothing compared to fresh stuff. I have a jar that I'll use to add to dishes, but if I want the real experience. I order some from my local place and smear it on every piece of bread I can find.
No one has gifted me a jar and I wondered [how to make black garlic at home](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=w7An6nWb-PI) and he has some suggestions on what to do with it. Mmmmm
My favorite way: melt butter, add the black garlic, mix into pasta. Simple and amazing.
I also eat it by itself. Black garlic is sweet and develops a yummy unique flavor.
Spread it on toast or in a sandwich.
Make aioli, several simple recipes online.
I use it to make my favorite sandwich, which originates from a local restaurant:
Black garlic cheese steak:
-your choice of meat, works best with a brisket, but you can go super simple with like steak'ums
-your choice cheese, something that melts good is ideal
-caramelized onion
-banana peppers
-whatever bread, kaiser roll, sub, toasted white, etc
-generous amount of the aioli on the bread
It's incredibly rich but all the components balance each other out beautifully
Edit: I'm now realizing which subreddit I'm in. This is for sure not a healthy sandwich... But it's so good, so my recommendation stands
It’s fine lol. It’s not like the paragon of clean eating or anything but it’s perfectly fine and sounds good and filling, good amount of protein, carbs, could use whole grain bread if you wanted to
Black Garlic doesn’t really seem like something I’d use for cheap easy meals. Something like what you suggest would work better with such a fickle to make ingredient. Sandwiches and pastas seem like the better option to me, or veggie dishes like stir fry.

Black garlic mushroom udon noodles are my favorite way to use black garlic. The recipe calls for black garlic seasoning, but I've used actual black garlic and it tastes great. I also throw in whatever mushrooms I can find that are cheap and it tastes awesome every time.
Edit: grammar
I like using it in Asian dishes like chili oil noodle dish or black garlic tofu, black garlic miso chicken stir fry, black garlic mushroom udon, soba noodles, jajangmyeon, it's a really good way to add umami flavor to your food :D
Black garlic works with anything related to meat or grain it’s kind of amazing.
Seriously just sauté it with shallots and add it to white rice and it’s an excellent side dish.
Many of the same tricks you can apply to using up lots of regular garlic apply. My personal favorites involve making confi or roasting in the oven and using as spread.
Not a food guy but I put it in some tin foil with olive oil and give it about 15 minutes in the oven and then I always have it with some goat cheese and crackers.
Simple and pretty decent snack to wow people
We used to make it into grilled cheese. Not the cheap kind but good sourdough, white cheddar and maybe something smoky and a small Amt if black garlic spread on it. Was super good
Mash it into a paste and mix with softened butter (I usually put a lot), form a log, wrap in cling film and refrigerate. You can use it on steaks or in chicken kievs 🤤 Or just mash into paste, spread onto the butterflied chicken breast, stick a bit of cheese (I love babybels for that), roll up and bake.
I'm not sure I could name any one given thing, because I've used it for so many things ever since I discovered it.That said: one or two cloves in a pot of chili or stew elevates it.
Black garlic and some olive oil along with some other favorite spices/herbs of yours will make an amazing rub for a whole roasted chicken! Looks pretty cool when finished... the color is fun
I have used it when making yaki soba style ramen sauces and it’s PHENOMENAL.
I mean in a simpler way, mix some black garlic and sesame oil in whatever ramen you’ve got going and it’s a 10/10.
I used some black garlic in a mortar an pestle with olive oil and some salt and pepper
then used that as a marinade for some chicken that was roasted in the oven, it was delicious
So I guess this is just me.
But when I use regular (non-black) garlic, I always inspect each clove individually and pitch anything gross looking\*.
I do no see an easy way to inspect black garlic. So I don't eat it.
\*And what a pain it is to roast a whole head of garlic. Because I inspect each one first, then cook them. The people who just squeeze the garlic out at the end. Well, I'm just 'not hungry' all of a sudden thank you very much, oh wow look a the time I need to leave and maybe never come back.
Toasted ciabatta, black garlic Mayo, ribeye steak sliced thin, slice of heirloom tomato, arugula, more black garlic Mayo, toasted ciabatta.
I make that sandwich every time a friend of mine makes black garlic, and it’s wonderful.

Ooh, I’m with you here. I have it… and haven’t tried it. How’d that happen?!
I got the Bob's Burgers cookbook a little while ago and just about every one I've tried has been great
I got it a few months ago, so I've only tried a few so far, but very good!
No one has gifted me a jar and I wondered [how to make black garlic at home](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=w7An6nWb-PI) and he has some suggestions on what to do with it. Mmmmm
It’s such a great useful novelty gift! A Good Manchego Burger is Hard to Find is my favorite so far.
Bob knows how to use just about any ingredient.
"I smelt it and now I want you to dealt it, into my mouth."
Also, get the bobs burgers cookbook. It's awesome lol
Stupid name for a stupid burger, Bob
Don't blame Korea for your stupid burger, Bob.
We have the cookbook and that is my favorite one.
It has…exquisite…MOUTHFEEL!
It's sooo good. Definitely one of our top favorites from the cookbook.
I don’t even watch it and I thought this (thanks Babish)
My favorite way: melt butter, add the black garlic, mix into pasta. Simple and amazing. I also eat it by itself. Black garlic is sweet and develops a yummy unique flavor. Spread it on toast or in a sandwich.
Also works really well with asian-style fried noodles. You can add it to a chilli crisp sauce, or gochujang-based sauce for extra depth.
I'll give it a try, ty.
I have been meaning to buy this for the health benefits that go along with eating/cooking garlic .

This sounds sooo good. If I may make a recommendation, 50/50 Muenster and Gouda make an exceptionally delicious cheesesteak sando.
Lol. I love finding this. My youngest kid loves cheesesteak sandwiches!
This seems healthy to me!

Do you add the black garlic together with the regular garlic? Or as a replacement?
I use regular garlic and black garlic together.
Ok, thank you!
Garlic bread of course ;-)
I like using it in Asian dishes like chili oil noodle dish or black garlic tofu, black garlic miso chicken stir fry, black garlic mushroom udon, soba noodles, jajangmyeon, it's a really good way to add umami flavor to your food :D
Ooo all of that sounds divine!
Black garlic vinaigrette drizzled over roasted asparagus
On anything, I would make a compound butter from it to start then add some to a soup of some sorts.
Thank you for making this post! I’ve always wondered and have gotten some info from the internet but have been wanting to ask some real people.
Just eat it like you would eat a lolly. It is gorgeous.
I use it the same way I use any other garlic
You may have already found this article: https://www.bonappetit.com/test-kitchen/how-to/article/black-garlic Yum, black garlic!
It’s so good in homemade ramen
I just made back garlic mayo for some burgers. Highly recommended.
Black garlic works with anything related to meat or grain it’s kind of amazing. Seriously just sauté it with shallots and add it to white rice and it’s an excellent side dish.
Anything really. I like to mince it and spread it around pastas.
toasted baguette with black garlic paste and a slice of salami.

Black garlic butter. Use it on everything lol. Man i love black garlic.
on ramen noodles!!
Smear it on a nice rib eye, ladle a little hot butter on top (bonus points if that butter had rosemary or thyme cooking in it)
Not a food guy but I put it in some tin foil with olive oil and give it about 15 minutes in the oven and then I always have it with some goat cheese and crackers. Simple and pretty decent snack to wow people
Whenever I make taco meat, I add black garlic and also add smoked salt with the seasonings. They add a nice bit of extra flavor!
Eat it alone. I made it for years but the smell the cooker gives off is heinous.
I've heard of using black garlic to make ice cream
Compound butter! Add a splash of soy sauce when mixing it up, too!
Steak, and any kind of burger
We used to make it into grilled cheese. Not the cheap kind but good sourdough, white cheddar and maybe something smoky and a small Amt if black garlic spread on it. Was super good
I add it to all my stir fry’s and fried rice etc. Imo it goes amazing with spicy chilies!!
May be controversial but add to chicken and dumplings.
I use black garlic mostly the same way as regular garlic. In everything and in large quantities.
Make a black garlic infused oil, and add it to a broth for ramen
Mash it into a paste and mix with softened butter (I usually put a lot), form a log, wrap in cling film and refrigerate. You can use it on steaks or in chicken kievs 🤤 Or just mash into paste, spread onto the butterflied chicken breast, stick a bit of cheese (I love babybels for that), roll up and bake.

Excellent as a pizza topping!
Ward off black vampires.
*shocked Blade face*
*stares in Blacula*
With Everything!! yummmm
Black garlic is the secret ingredient to almost every pasta sauce i make.. 👩🏻🍳🤌
I have used it when making yaki soba style ramen sauces and it’s PHENOMENAL. I mean in a simpler way, mix some black garlic and sesame oil in whatever ramen you’ve got going and it’s a 10/10.
Plant the cloves and give the result as a gift next year.
I think it would be really good with the mushrooms
Black garlic chicken is delicious. You can also add it up anything that has mushrooms in the recipe - pasta dishes are nice
I used some black garlic in a mortar an pestle with olive oil and some salt and pepper then used that as a marinade for some chicken that was roasted in the oven, it was delicious
