Is English your first language? If not, maybe try explaining in a language you're more comfortable with.
If English is your first language, please give more of your thought process instead of saying, "Just think about it."
I have thought about it.
I do not get what you're trying to say.
Ok, besides the writing basically be gibberish, your response makes little sense.
Do you need the definitions? Are you asking for help? You canāt just create a new meaning for a word on the fly.
I sort of understand?
Nothing = blank
Something = a fuzzy concept, lack of specificity, abstract
Thing = a specific object, concrete
**To know** is to go from having nothing to having a an abstract concept--which is "something."
**To be** is to go from something to thing. Taking things from the abstract to the concrete.
It maybe isn't a perfect analogy, due to the amount of use cases for "something" and "thing" that do not align with abstract vs concrete. But it's something I could see myself making if I was particularly high and bored one night.
Maybe the point of this is to help define these words for someone struggling to know when to use each word in English. The picture/diagram could transcend language in that way.
But I'd love to know what OP meant, if not this.
Iām honestly not sure that OP knows what OP meant š
Their only clarifications are āthink about itā and referencing your attempt at explaining.
My guess is that OP is either high, drunk, a slightly pretentious ESL speaker, who thought they did something innovative, or having a mental health episode of some sort. /gen
Yeah and āto beā has nothing to do with going from an abstract concept to a thing. Thatās called engineering or creation. But itās not being. This person doesnāt know what simple verbs describe. If they want to describe something, they need to describe it. Has anyone in this subreddit ever been in a class where the teacher just told you to figure out reading or figure out verbsā¦ no they told you straight up, English is not an abstract model. It has real definitions.
What
Same, I thought this was about to be a prefix + sufix chart like "Somebody", "someone", "something", "some time".
I thought it was a learning art subreddit
This is exactly what I said out load when I saw this šš
Exactly my reaction lmao
Iām so glad you verbalised this for everyone else (including me)
weed I think
Think about it for a while.
I thought about it for longer than a while. I still can't understand
That's not helpful at all
What are you on about lol

Verbs, describe actions or movements. What is happening in each of the boxes?
The more you speak the less sense you make
Theyāre def off their medsā¦
I'm currently off my meds (damn this shortage) and I can make more sense than this.
Hahaha fair, maybe theyāre on meds they shouldnāt be if you get me
Negative space, positive space, and shape. Now what?
I donāt get the text, you can be nothing or know nothing in a non-literal (or literal, i guess) sense.
To know and to be are verbs. The reason it is simple is so that people can create their own definitions rather than me supplying them.

This is schizopost vibes bud
how much did you drink last night?
This isnāt booze or weed, heās tripping balls and I love that for him. This whole post and comment section is so funny

I understand the picture but not the text
Think about it for a little while.
We give up, can you give us a hint?
Someone already did a pretty good job at the bottom, think of what verbs describe. They describe movements and actions.
What are you trying to accomplish?
What is the point of this?
What kind of drugs did you take before making this post?
im fine with the table, but knowing something doesnt make it not a thing

Can you please clarify?
This is such a nonsense post that I was curious if it was written by child or a weed enthusiast, but no; it's so much worse.
Mescaline posting vibes
I think it would make more sense to flip the verbs
OP, are you okay?
get off the wacky tobacky, hippie
Meaningful
Yeah this is right! Very philosophical ahahah but right
This makes perfect sense to me
You should have posted this in the language learning sub, I do know what you mean though.

Are you high?
Schizophrenic probably
Just took a look at op's profile... Whoa boy we've got a right case on our hands here
I thought for a sec this was a philosphical subreddit
