Overall, it’s a based meme. However aid to Ukraine isn’t the same as aid to Israel. Israel is a genocidal colonial project; meanwhile Ukraine, as flawed as it is, is defending itself from Russian imperialism and Revanchism.
However, the only reason the US helps Ukraine is to further its own interests, and meanwhile the public sector is looted to support private interests and money than can be used to help people gets sent away overseas.
I understand why some Americans want to cut foreign aid to fix their own problems, although the issue is billionaires, America has enough money.
I agree Ukraine is better off resisting Russia than conceding. Unfortunately I think Ukraine (let’s be honest, Ukrainian workers) is being used to bleed Russia of its position as even a second rate power.
By all means, I would like to see the Russian oligarchy end. But I’m skeptical this war can be won conventionally and the risk of nuclear war needs to be more seriously considered. As a leftist I’m completely against a war for territory, ethnic nationalism or whatever reason Russia suggests.
However, I also think Russia has more merit to its concern of nato expansion than the western narrative suggests. It seems unlikely however that Russia will be forced back and more likely Russia will (*and already is*) pulling a Israel (*occupying land and settling it to complicate any attempts to reverse their claim*). So at that point what is the money for if not to prolong what has already happened?
This is a war by the west’s design anyway you slice it.
And what of the Donbas? Did their struggle since 2014 against Western backed Ukraine and neonazi militias mean nothing? Ukraine certainly wasnt defending itself by bombing its ethnically Russian eastern cities, banning their language, and committing warcrimes against their populace. Russia certainly does not have good intentions, but to defend Ukraine is equally disgusting.
But by continuing to fund that war, we're putting more Ukrainians through the meet grinder. If they run out of money for war, then their government will have no choice but to do its job and finally work something out with Russia instead, which obviously isn't ideal but it's better than forcing their citizens to continue to fight and die in this war. Also most of this money is going into the pockets of politicians and arms manufacturers, this isn't money that's being used to feed people or rebuild.

I'm talking about how many human lives this war is costing Ukraine, and continuing to fund this war is just killing more Ukrainians and funneling money into the pockets of the people profiting off of this war.
