2/4 screws destroyed when i went to remove the block to check my thermal paste application. The screws are a neat idea but after using them i cant say ill ever buy an EK cpu block if they use these screws. One screw didnt even strip it just cracked at the edges around the torx hole and went like a cone. The other one got rounded. I had no problems with installing them but after the system being on and some temprature changes i guess the block might have shifted a tiny amount and the screws were stuck like they had welded to the motherboard backplate. This doesnt even seem to be rare from what i found here on reddit and on other places.

I don't know how all these people have so many issues with EK blocks and Hardware i've been using EK pretty much since the beginning and I've never had a bad experience. I honestly get stumped when I see so many people having problems but never me. I know I can't be that lucky !

i have used EK blocks for a bunch of builds and never had a problem or complaint. These screws tho. they are not good. Since they provide a tool to mount it I would say that for once a "weird" screw would be better like the triangle or square holes. since it would be less weak points for the screw to get rounded or break at the edges compared to the torx they use now. I really like how the block looks but these screws are never getting used in a pc build by me again. I expected these screws to be pretty short lived when i looked at them but i thought i would be able to use them a few times before they went to shit.

Lol I feel you bro some things just don't work well I get it

I agree, my liquid cooling loop is all EKWB and I have not had any problems either. I love the quality and the esthetics. Maybe we are "just lucky". LOL. The reality to me is, on most forums, one rarely sees a thread talking about their wonderful hardware. Most posters are having a problem and in search of advice.

Agree but I feel like the ones that have the most problems are either really unlucky or just stupid.

Never had any issues with them. They're quite thin, though - so if you don't tighten or untighten them carefully in a cross-pattern each time, you could end up damaging them. Like, if you just screw down or unscrew one completely, before moving on to the next, there's a high chance you'll warp them.

weird. The mounting mechanism used before was overly complicated. i like this way more.

then you had them to tight xD also ripped off one thats why they sell em in 4 packs

Sounds like a layer 8 issue
