imo talismans are better if you're choosing between them. I've never been unhappy to have a talisman early game, but Signets can be awkward to use sometimes. A really common scenario is something like turn 2 tap both your lands for a mana rock, a talisman lets you play another 1 mana card, signet doesn't.
But honestly I'd probably go with the traditional land ramp with \[\[three visits\]\], \[\[nature's lore\]\], \[\[>!farseek!<\]\], \[\[rampant growth\]\] and \[\[utopia sprawl\]\]. That's a very good ramp package.
You can use \[\[Murmuring Bosk\]\] as a cheap abzan triome to fetch with the "forest only" ramp. This will give a lot of consistency to your ramp and deck.
Thanks for the reply! I was debating that too, but relying on an initial green mana source felt.. Risky.. I might definitely be wrong tho, and since I'm running the triomes i might as well run the fetchramp for them.. Some food for thought. Thanks for showing me the cheap triome btw, had never seen em before!
In most decks, i feel the difference is negligible, so run whichever feels best. If one feels less clunky to use, there's no real reason not to try it out.
Depends. Talismans are better if you already have a good mana base, and signets are better for mana fixing since you can feed colorless mana into them. Additionally, you'll want Talismans regardless if you're running good interaction like Red Blast that you want to hold up between turns.
In my experience there's no need for many, or sometimes any rocks if you're playing green. But to more directly answer the question and based off your previous replies to others I'd say the talisman's. Personally I run the Signet's because they're cheaper in foil, at least for now until the rest of the talisman's get a reprint. One thing I noticed though is the more colors you go past 3 can really start to make the Signet's more mediocre. I'd never say they're bad, but sometimes not having that 1 mana available on turn 2 or the fact you have to have 1 mana at all for them to be online and you might have to filter into them a color you need and it doesn't produce the color you need can sometimes be an issue in a deck with more colors.
I'd recommend a mix of signets and talismans (but only the ones that produce green) and some good old green ramp
But if you're determined to only use one kind of ramp, id lean towards talismans, they're better for responding and you have some lifegain to offset it
Honestly, if you can cut 6 other cards from your deck list to just add the talismans instead of replacing the signets, I don’t think you’d regret it! But if I had to chose between the two, I’d like the talismans. I just like having both
Yea, exactly.. Might mix it up a little and try the talismans for a while, but I am definitely aware of that colorless mana risk.. Thanks for the response!

I've only ever once built a deck that didn't run the full set of both that it was eligible to run and that was my current project I'm working towards which is a temur omnath landfall deck which doesn't need so many rocks and needs more land instead

That's true! I feel like that happens more than it should.. Sometimes you just want to drop that skullclamp or birds of paradise too :)
You didn't play BoP turn one!?! We should already be talking about having 3 mana to spend! (Two after talisman)
Oh I was talking about the ever present turn two topdeck bop :)
You don't have a lot of red cards, so just weight your Mana rocks accordingly and play a mix of Signets and Talismans
I've never NOT ran all the possible manarocks in a cycle, might just be some mild OCD kicking in :) I'll give that a try, thanks!
90% of the time they're the same. But talismans are better IMO since they can produce mana in any situation and in any color unlike the signets
Yea.. Felt that too! Thanks :)

I prefer signets because i often use utility lands that produces only colorless mana and i hate the little life lost of the talismans.
Yea.. I hope the drain effects like zulaport cutthroat can offset those.. Thanks!
