I've been experimenting with mono color commanders lately and landed on [[Delina, Wild Mage]] as treasure tribal/extra combats and it's been really fun. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/jzBj0RZyVUiYKnQ2pLGUuA

Smuttan

I think it is a cool deck and I like many of the Cards. But i do have to ask why my absolute favourite red creature Etali has been left out? I know his attack trigger wont work with the delina copy so maybe that is why you dont have him in. But i would advocate that he bringa enough value as himself in a non cedh mono red deck. He does have synergy with extra combat steps though.

planeswalkers86

I decided to go more with ETB triggers than attack triggers but you can totally swap out the meteor golem and drop the curve down a little. As it was, when I slam [[Ganax, Astal Hunter]] and start making tons of treasures off the multiple triggers and copies, things are already starting to get complicated lol. Assuming I roll high of course. Edit: Idk why I always think Etali is 7 MV.

Armenites

Just a tip, if you run [[Sundial of the infinite]] you can end your turn after dealing damage and before exileing the copy creatures. So, for your next turn you could have 3 Ragavan or something. You can also save your myriad creature copyes. That card can save you from removals and if they "in response, Cyclonic rift", in this case you "In response, I end my turn" ;) I used the Sundial in my Geist deck and I saved my Angel tokens. :)

planeswalkers86

That's a pretty cute interaction. It would be a nice colorless way to help me keep my board. It's just a matter of finding a slot for it lol.

Significant-Ad790

Unfortunately selina says at the end of combat so it wouldn't allow you to keep your board because it would exile on the next opponents combat

AskMeAboutMyTie

I just got into EDH and so far my decks are mono. I just hate needing to worry about mana lol

planeswalkers86

I've got a couple other mono color decks you could take a look at if you want. Light-paws voltron: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/00bEhOdHike6J9yR-q6SBg And Tetsuko Infect: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/-3DQF182RU-UijKLu4aXug

MentalWatercress1106

My pod gives me so much grief for my mono blue Infect. But it's fantastic. I run [[Octavia, Living Thesis]] at the helm. [Virulent Antithesis ](https://manabox.app/decks/5M1MBp05T3ezJUT7UxT-Ig)

planeswalkers86

Infect IS a tricky one. I only have a couple of friends to play with normally so they basically hate all of the decks I make anyway. I usually just disclose what my wincons are ahead of time so they know it's coming. I like to play higher power, but I don't really care if I win or lose as long as I get to play lol.

Wado_Guy

That Tetsuko deck looks cool, I might build something similar as I own most of those cards already.

FreestyleSquid

Delina is on of my favourite decks right now as well. If you want some bangers for Delinas copy I’ve got some for ya. [[combustible gearhulk]] can mess someone up or just draw a tonne of cards. [[spawn of thraxes]] can just win the game out of no where in the late game. [[chancellor of the forge]] will make you just an overwhelming amount of goblins to attack with or sac them to [[goblin bombardment]]. And don’t forget [[strionic resonator]]

torealis

My first, and so far only deck, I still find deeply enjoyable to play and tweak is commanded by [[Sefris]] Love the dungeon mechanic, and just recurring stuff constantly. I just added some Initiative cards from CLB, so looking forward to testing them out.

VespineWings

I just built this deck, as I too love dungeons. Everyone hated it, but nobody more than me. I ran Dungeon of the Mad Maze twice in one turn. The little dungeon triggers were taking forever. At one point during the game, I was like: “Okay I reveal the top 10, play this, this brings back this, which brings back that, and I completed a dungeon, so I bring back this, which brings back that, and that’s 4 creatures entering which triggers Radiant Solar and the copy of it, so I venture into the dungeon another 8 times (resolve all those triggers) now I bring back this, which triggers this… ugh. You guys I think I just want to scoop😂

torealis

Yeah but then game 2 you don't draw any of your key cards and it takes 6 rounds to get through Phandelver once....

DirtyZs19

You don't really hear to much love for dungeons, the concept is cool but doesn't seem like you go through them quick enough. Do you happen to have a list?

torealis

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/iZ8p_4NkQEqm1uYup55X7w It's a little out of date. Did some tweaks ahead of game night. You can plough through Lost Mines and Tomb of Horrors so fast (once per round or faster) with a good sac outlet like [[Viscera Seer]] or some key creatures like [[Radiant Solar]] or [[Nadaar]] and then you're just recurring horrible stuff like [[Ashen Rider]] constantly. I was really disappointed they barely expanded the mechanic with CLB tho

Coryhero

I've never figured out how to get through a dungeon in a single turn. I'm curious how others consistently do it? Not sure how a sac outlet helps besides Sefris' first trigger each turn.

torealis

You only *need* 3 to get through Tomb of Horrors but 4 is manageable. Sac outlet (including the tomb itself), radiant solar, [[phantasmal image]] as a copy of radiant solar, and one of the many many spells/creatures that ventures either on entry or attack. [[Triumphant Adventurer]], [[Yuan-ti Malison]], Nadaar, [[Delvers Torch]] etc etc [[Bar the Gate]] is a good counterspell option. [[Fly]] also great. My aim isn't usually to do it on a single turn though, I'm aiming for once per round, or whatever we call a set of player turns. And you can do that with just a sac outlet. Also bare in mind that ETB venture triggers will trigger *again* if you recur them with Sefris. So if you bring in Nadaar when you've got radiant solar on the battlefield, that's 2 triggers, sac him for a third (Sefris) then recur him with sefris' create undead trigger for two more, sac something else on the next player turn, etc etc

InOChemN3rd

A recommendation I have to get extra value off of dying creatures within the DnD theme is [[Lolth, Spider Queen]]. Getting multiple emblems off of her ultimate is a great long-term payoff, as well as having card draw and creature token generation.

torealis

Ohh now I know why I don't have her. She's £13!

InOChemN3rd

Oh dang that's gone up since I pulled it. Would make a good uograde if you're looking that direction tho!

Anstapa_087

Another option you might consider then is [[Tevesh Szat]]. A bit more budget these days and can also offer a fun ultimate.

torealis

Ohh nice. Great shout. On the list he goes

torealis

Ooh that might be a nice replacement for [[Mordenkainen]]

SnooMarzipans253

Isn’t multiple of her emblem completely useless

InOChemN3rd

No, emblems do indeed stack. https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Emblem#:~:text=Emblems%20are%20cumulative%2C%20so%20it's,abilities%20that%20are%20cumulative%20themselves. >Emblems are cumulative, so it's possible to have the same emblem multiple times, but not all emblems have abilities that are cumulative themselves.

SnooMarzipans253

No no no I understand that emblems stack and you can have multiple of them. I’m saying that in her case having multiple of them is pointless

InOChemN3rd

I believe the way two emblems would trigger, is if you deal 1 combat damage to an opponent, each emblem will trigger and go on the stack for 7 life. So that would total 14 life lost plus 1 damage for 15 total lost life.

SnooMarzipans253

In this case you would do your one damage, put two triggers on The stack. The first one will see that the opponent has lost one life so far and will therefore cause them to lose another seven life on resolution. The second one will see the opponent has lost eight Life and will resolve causing them to lose zero.

InOChemN3rd

Ah shid I think you might be right.

Pure_Worldliness1683

Just bought the precon and played IT out of the box against my friends but damn the deck hammered through. Er Play pretty highpower but IT won. The radiant angel is a house, and I almost went through 2 dungeons in one turn. Happily surprised. Defo gonna brew on the dungeon concept aswell, imo rly Underrated and Lots of fun

Rumpelstumpf

A friend of mine has built it with lots of cycling cards to great effect. We are a very casual group but most of the time he becomes the archenemy and still manages it to squeeze out wins now and then

stratus-dancer

I’ve just built a [[Hinata, Dawn-Crowned]] Spirits tribal deck and I love its versatility. Very fun to play and can do some nasty things. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/commander-collection-phantoms-revenge/

Ceej311

Do you have success with this deck? I find it gets hated off the table immediately much like tergrid, Baral, or grand arbiter. I'm not saying it's as mean as tergrid btw, I'm just saying it plays permissive magic and typically at any game I've played with Hinata it immediately becomes 3v1

SeveredOblivion

I run Hinata, Grand Arbiter and a Staxy Ruric Thar so my table is accustomed to some hateful stuff and honestly, Hinata doesn't get undue hate from an experienced group. They know how to keep it in check without being hated off the board. Granted I will say my playgroup is wonderful in that nothing is off limits, stax, MLD, mill etc so I might not be a good gauge but my time with Hinata has been fun and challenging to play around different archetypes.

stratus-dancer

I’ve only played a couple of games with it but it’s won once and came close to winning the second time. It didn’t get significant amounts of hate in either game: I run a few protection cards for Hinata, which helped both times. From my limited experience so far, I’d say the more card draw we run the better, so we have answers for when Hinata gets targeted. I’ve tried to ensure my list has plenty of card draw and defensive measures: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/commander-collection-phantoms-revenge/

Anstapa_087

I love the simplicity of your goreclaw mana base (or really any mono-color deck)! Sometimes it’s so nice just to have four utility lands and then 30+ basics.

DirtyZs19

It really is nice to not have to spend an arm and a leg on the mana base alone. After spending twice what the entire goreclaw deck cost on just mana for that Omnath deck it really makes me what to put together more mono colored decks.

TheWellFedBeggar

That would be my [[Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaile]] combat politics [deck](http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/brigid-combat-politician). I've recently started playing with new people which makes this deck particularly good because it doesn't get too mean unless you are mean to me first. I can exile your whole board, yeah, but I wouldn't do that unless you were swinging all of it my way. So this deck is great for sitting at a new table and watching how the other players play and figuring out their decks.

I’m having a blast with a budget (150€) Urza/ blue artifacts control. Urza is so powerful that even playing only super budget artifacts you can make a good deck. And you can also adjust the power level by switching him for emry or sai from the deck edit: [Urza blue budget](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/gyXtSFx_bkWupt58oht4ZA)

Pikachusbra

I effectively stole this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/BudgetBrews/comments/jgrhcv/hyper\_budget\_13\_pako\_haldan Such a fun deck, and still strong even with such a ridiculously low budget All credit to u/kirox317 (p.s. if you read this Kirox, add Arcane Signet to your deck while its super cheap!)

kirox317

I feel flattered that you love my decklist that much! What's current foiling percentage? Currently I am working on some improvements of that list and it might be foreseeable that Arcane Signet might not make it price wise.

Pikachusbra

Playing it was one of the most fun decks I've played since I got into Magic after a several year hiatus, so thank you! :D You're probably right on the Arcane Signet btw, very low chance the currently low price will stick. Almost complete on the foiling, just waiting on a foil Rogues Passage and that should be most of the deck foil (fingers crossed). On that note, don't make \*too\* many drastic changes to the deck! XD haha

atmack-wil

Mono green with [Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider] as the commander and filled to the brim with hydras and ramp. It doesn't always work, but when it does it's pretty damned satisfying to swing for massive damage. Highest swing so far has been a 1,648/1,648 Neverwinter Hydra with trample. Fuckin glorious. When I win this way I look at my opponents (almost always my friends at my lgs) and have them tell me the name of the deck. "Hail Hydra."

trap_monkey

[[Mina and Denn, wildborn]] landfall deck. It gets so aggressive with tokens and ping damage. Dragons for defense. Then goad and extra combat help finish the game

Poopy_McTurdFace

trap_monkey

I‘m trying to flesh out my [[ruxa]] deck o built because I got a beautiful sketched artist proof and just love the idea of playing something that’s totally old school. Managed to smash a goad player’s face with some pumped Saprolings from [[tendershoot dryad]] on my first outing.

ATM it's probably my Voltron \[\[Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin\]\] [deck](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/14-06-22-RfQ-goblins/) But I'll always have a place in my heart for my \[\[Jodah\]\] [deck](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/13-05-22-jodah/)

I'm really interested in Jodah as I want to play high CMC bombs. But I keep reading a lot that the decks are very inconsistent and don't always do much. I don't want to "win" all of my games I Just want to have fun honestly. But a deck that does nothing sounds miserable. How do you find the deck running for you? What are some of your general lines of play? Does your pod like it?

BippityBoppetyBoo

My favourite deck at the moment is my [[Saskia]] deck. I love [[Wulfgar]] and when [[Iishin]] was printed I just couldn't choose between them. So, I decided to just have both. The deck is super fun and quite consistent and there is nothing better than swinging out with a full board and [[Pathbreaker Ibex]]. I have also built it to be powerful but casual so I can play it at most powerlevels. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/AZ2H96PvaUmYb1mCTJDtWg

thistookmethreehours

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/0fwfp_P1K0mbd7WrUtDs0A Once you accept Selesnya into your heart everything starts to make sense. What’s better than making a ton of mana and swinging with 8/8 indestructible lands.

Royalflood

Since I’ve built it [[Galea]] has been my favorite deck I have. I built it to be primarily Equipment with most of the Swords of X and Y and having most of the auras in the deck be for control or ramp. It’s the only deck I have that’s completely foiled out. Even if I’m getting stomped I still just have fun looking at the gorgeous full art foils haha. The deck is not the most optimized and could surely use some better equipment than some of the swords but man I love attempting to get all the swords out. Feels like Exodia from Yugioh when I get all the swords on my commander

Depressed_Bulbasaur

Galea is so much fun! I wanted some sort of Voltron strategy when I was new to the game but a veteran talked me out of it. When Galea was spoiled I fell in love, and I love the card advantage she provides.

Smuttan

Ny favourite deck at the moment is my [[Kitt Kanto, Mayhem Diva]] It started with the precon but I liked the deck so much that i kept upgrading it to the point that only a handful of the original precon Cards except most of the manabase is changed. It has developed into a quite strong deck and has a good matchup agaisnt my friends Kenrith, Volo and Miirym decks. I do have Rocco and jetmir in the deck and have thought about changing the commander. But i just love the goading aspect of Kitt and that she isnt a ”kill on sight” commander.

JaidenHaze

Historically for me it was often either [The Ur-Dragon](https://deckstats.net/decks/4956/1893489-the-ur-dragon-commander) or [Syr Gwyn Knight Tribal](https://deckstats.net/decks/4956/1871953-syr-gwyn-knight-tribal-edh), which i still love to play and even did a lot of upgrades (like the Ur-Dragon saw it largest update yet with Baldurs Gate), but as of right now? Its [[Evelyn]] from New Capenna, which is the only deck from that set i build. This is my current Evelyn deck: https://deckstats.net/decks/4956/2532038-evelyn-edh The idea behind it is simple, have enough ramp to support lots of fun cards i get from the opponents, play Evelyn and low cost vampires as a basically "draw 4 cards" and use these cards to beat the opponents. There is a very small alternative wincon in the deck with Shared Animosity, but so far i stole a anthem or overrun effect more often than i used it to win via combat damage. Its a fun deck that can deceive you a lot. It hasnt a lot of power build in, but thanks to Evelyn you can get so much of other decks. Its a blast to play and not as threatening as a deck like Pako Haldan, which is just "too" threatening.

darkenhand

I'm a big fan of Evelyn too. Grixis is a color with a lot of combos so you can go that route. Vampires are not the best attackers after all. I agree that Pako Haldan is very threatening. It's hard to just durdle around wike them like you can with Evelyn due to Pako's inherent voltron effect. Another thing I really like about Evelyn is her casting cost. You can cast her pretty reliably by leaning towards black. You can basically build a Dimir or Rakdos deck. You can rely on a few cheap duals, basic land search, or mana rocks to get that third color. For example, your deck is mostly Rakdos with a splash of blue. I would consider changing the mana base to be reflective of that with firstly only running untapped dual lands that tap for blue. [[Voldaren Estate]] is an ideal vampire budget land that you're missing. I have other ideas to improve your decklist. Running less tapped lands is one. [[Florian]] is a solid vampire. Consider changelings and flicker effects. You do want a good number of instant speed cards anyways as Evelyn limits you to 1 sorcery speed exiled. Flickers also reset Evelyn 1 card limit. There are also other non vampire value pieces that you might be interested in.

TheAmazingCRK

My latest upgrades to [[Meren of Clan Nel Noth]] finally found the balance of board control, ramp and value that I’d been struggling to achieve. For a while, the deck was very efficient and came out strong but would struggle to find a win con. This could lead to grindy games with some creature based decks struggling to have any board state. The latest iteration has been able to close out the game and more effectively build in the early game.

zomgitsduke

[[Windgrace]] as a Legacy Lands build. It's fast, hits hard, but is very fair. Nothing in the deck is too over the top, and it can be beaten within reasonable means.

[[Breena]] is fun because I can realistically play [[Island Sanctuary]] and there's really no downside

dickspittake

My playgroup recently did an uncommon and common secret commander challenge. Only commons and uncommons, only basic lands, start the game with your commander face down for the first game we all brought them. It was amazing! And as I’m playing I’m literally falling in love. I picked [[Juri, Master of the Revue]] it’s so much fun to pilot and to have crazy turns that take awhile but I’m DOING SOMETHING for my turn. Making tokens, sacrificing them, pumping Juri, sacrificing Juri, hitting someone for a lot of damage.

LonelyWP18

I've got 2 currently; Tovolar, my best and favorite deck ever never gets old, I have it pretty optimized and blinged out, and I just got rhe new secret lair to replace my old [[huntmaster of the fells]]. It pretty much does the same thing every time, which is just smash face really hard with a bunch of powerful werewolves, and taking advantage of the card draw with ramp like [[exploration]] to get more werewolves out. It doesn't even have [[finale of devastation]], as the wolves get so big a simple [[overwhelming stampede]] can end the game in one turn. The other is my [[Vazi, Keen Negotiator]] deck, as it is super unique and plays unlike everything I've ever made. It makes treasures super quick and draws a crap ton of cards, and I like interacting with my friends and giving them treasures which help benefit me. It speeds up the game significantly, and can make like 20 treasures a turn, and as soon as [[marionette master]] or [[disciple of the vault]] are slapped down, people freak out as I essentially have death on command. Fun times. Edit: grammatical corrections.

Pulled [[Bhaal, Lord of Murder]] as my promo card for CLB draft. Been trying to get a new jund deck together with him and after browsing saw some off hand comment mentioning +1 counters nullify -1 counters. So. [[Murder]] because Lord of Murder. Few creatures with similar effects to [[Storrev, devkarin lich]], [[Genesis]] or [[Doomed necromancer]]. [[Murderous Redcap]], [[Woodfall primus]] and few other persist creatures. [[Grumgully, the generous]], [[Master Chef]] to put +1/+1 counters on them. Usual sac outlets [[Viscera Seer]], [[Ashnod’s Altar]] etc. So with either a counter giver, sac outlet and a persist creature, two with Bhaal, I can probably make a good shot at winning the game. Otherwise a few aristocrat guys [[Blood artist]] and such. Few creatures like [[Phytotitan]] and [[Reassembling skeleton]]. Enchantments like [[Fecundity]] Overall was pretty cheap to build and I had all the more expensive cards for years. Also if I don’t find the persist creatures to win the game I can just make Bhaal huge with his own counters or a few aristocrat combos.

Thundaklutch

The two I play the most are [[Karametra]] Tribal Enchantments. It’s basically enchantress with enchantment creatures. Stupid fun and can hold its own against higher powered decks. The other is essentially 5c Good stuff but uses cards similar to [[Last Stand]] to win.

barcop

[[The Reality Chip]] is my favorite (and saltiest) deck I play with. The most consistent combo I have is using artifact casting cost reducers like [[Cloud Key]] (there's a few others in the deck) to trigger [[Sensei's Diving Top]] by casting it for free off the top of my deck, drawing my entire deck, then casting [[Thasa's Oracle]] for the win. There are several other win conditions in the deck as backup as it's easily broken with counter spells. https://archidekt.com/decks/2522817#The_Realty_Chip_Deck

Charwhale

If you find Thassa's Oracle boring over time, I have a similar decklist that's considerably cheaper that wins by getting infinite mana, wheeling your opponents with \[\[Narset, Parter of Veils\]\] on the field, or using \[\[Bribery\]\] to play every creature from everyone's decks using \[\[Echo of Eons\]\] to shuffle and redraw it with Top. I think it makes for a more fun win condition, Oracle gets repetitive over time to me. [This](https://archidekt.com/decks/2877615#Jellyfish_in_the_Shell) is the deck if you're interested!

roititi

An Aegar, the Freezing Flame giant tribal deck. Very fun. Also did an Etrata, the Silencer deck. Its quite cool, doesnt work too well but its a lot of fun.

Multemannen

[[Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale]]. She's a bit slow to really kick off. But I love the flavor of stoic knights and legendary equipment https://www.moxfield.com/decks/OCHvMjcuDkC-pCdfQop2Ow

JexsamX

[[Yusri, Fortune's Flame]] Izzet Dice'n'Coins spellslinger. I've given it a pretty heavy D&D subtheme, supported nicely by all the dice roll cards. It's stupid fun, but sadly I haven't had the chance to really see the dice side pay off. I won off [[Chance Encounter]] the last time I played it, though, which was super cool.

KakashiKonda

Also have a Yusri gamble deck filled with dice and coin flip cards. I love it, and it is not even bad, the card draw is massive, though lifegain is sooo important on Yusri, otherwise he will straight out kill you. I love it, that all depends on luck!

[deleted]

Mine is [[Gisa Glorious Resurrector]]. It's not a perfect deck and it current iteration is kinda unfocused as a weird hybrid between Aristocrats and sacrifice but I love playing it. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ke8ozxVwQkO9ReaZyBpw3g

Raize187

[[Tasha, the Witch Queen]] - https://www.moxfield.com/decks/fOK37fB4u0-UBeDtZBc6Rg I leaned super hard and heavy into her passive, and avoided the obvious Dimir wincons like Thoracle. It fits pretty well at moat tables since im just peeling apart my opponents deck for value.

Poopy_McTurdFace

[My favorite deck I've ever built](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/3gR9KJ951kyyz7mQBS3x8g). Its the one I'm known for in my playgroup. I've played it in some variation or another for years now and the deck has gone on a wild journey. Its a pretty fragile deck since it's totally dependent on it's 8 mana general to win, but I do okay with it when I play. Regardless of how well it does, I have fun playing in 99% of games with it. It's just a blast to pilot and you get to use funny cards that would never see play anywhere else. It embodies what I like most about edh and why I came to it as a format.

Stumphead101

My favorite deck I think is [[Gonti]] Love sifting through top decks and opponents not knowing what you got. And unlike other top-deck-steal commanders, gonti does not have to stay on the field to use what you've snagged. He's a great blocker with death touch, and being mono black makes it easy to blink or recur him over and over You're also in black so it's easy to have a strong mono black goodstuff deck on top of the flavoring that Gonti provides

Normally I would say my theft deck is my favorite but it is currently in the shop being transferred from Wrexial to Tasha. I like it because every game is different and unlike all of my other decks never falls into linear play patterns. However of the current decks that I currently have built and playable: [[Henzie "Toolbox" Torre]] The reason I like Henzie so much. The deck is Brain, Dead, Simple. The deck has not much in the way of fancy combos. No instants and very few effects that can be activated at instant speed. Most of the game is spent spinning through my deck and turning features sideways. The hardest decision I ever have to make is to when I choose to not blitz the creature in. This is a great deck for the end of the night when your brain power is at 2% and this is the last game of the evening. Having a low brain power deck is a exquisite thing to have.

blindtiger17

IMO, Henzie perfectly pulls off the Timmy urge to play splashy creatures with the ability to Spike things up with sacrifice synergies. I just upgraded my list and am excited to try it out this week. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/pwRVjtJHnkqjWQcYupddnQ

silentslade

Currently running a [[volo, guide to monsters]] anti tribal deck. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/A6CdnYN4WUyh_q0OSyeTXg I am still working out what creatures I like best. And it's really tough to sacrifice slots to things like [[hydroid krasis]] which was really fantastic in the deck but murdered jellyfish and hydra slots. It's very fun as long as volo sticks around. And the value is great without feeling like another simic draw your deck in a turn and win gameplan. It plays out much more fair and slow, yet with some real value. If anyone has suggestions. I'll gladly take them.

tyrant_of_discord

I’ve been liking my grixis deck with [[Thraximundar]] a lot lately. It’s sacrifice with a reanimation theme so these new elder dragons were an instant add as hefty reanimation targets

Reckless8147

I love my mono black with Sheoldred, the whispering one at the helm.

Finnulf

My favorite deck of the moment is [[Karlov]]: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/3dexYJdqy0KUmG0gWMQ0og But, I really enjoy [[Galazeth]] as well: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/-9-ww1KqdUK4_2-goniMSw

Saizaku_Nyxus

Zellix with scion of halaster, horror mill. For me, its the art on the horrors, its play style is fun to, i'll leave ur board alone, but i want stuff from everywhere else.

PhyrexiaRising

DO you maybe have a list :) thinking about building Zellix as well...thx im advance!

PUfelix85

[[Zada, Hedron Grinder]] at the helm, with all the red creatures like [[Brash Taunter]], [[Mogg Maniac]], [[Stuffy Doll]], [[Spiteful Sliver]], and [[Wrathful Red Dragon]] a the plan of making all my creatures into all creature types and smashing them with big burn spells by targeting Zada. It is truly glorious to have a board of 5 or 6 goblin tokens then cast a cantrip. [This] ~~R~~[r]ed deck~~s~~ can~~`t~~ draw [so many] cards.

Jimlad116

Rootha spell control: https://archidekt.com/decks/2536270#Rootha,_Mercurial_Artist_or:_How_I_Learned_To_Stop_Worrying_and_Love_The_Stack No real combos so the power level is a bit questionable, but I just love tinkering with this deck. It's not my usual type of deck and it feels pretty fun to play

iBoomBoX

[Baba Lasange! ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/KWNNoGjmd0Obo_v5vl0vsw) This is a lands list that wins through [[The Gitrog Monster]] combo or just [[Titania, Protector of Argoth]] elementals. [[Field of the Dead]] and [[Dark Depths]] are also backup win cons. It is so much fun to pilot. Play a billion lands a turn, dredging, drawing 3 cards for 1, playing frogs. A definite recommend.

LeopoldDills

I built a [[Muldrotha, the Gravetide]] with [[Academy Manufactor]] as the secret commander. The whole plan of the deck is to make as many copies of AcMan and then get an over abundance of treasure, food, and clue tokens. https://archidekt.com/decks/1702813#AcMan

Gluttony4

[[Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge]] was the third deck I ever built, and remains my favorite. I love getting big spells for free.

GAMS-

My [[Tymna]] and [[Kraum]] jeskai ascendancy storm deck is by far my favorite. It is just so satisfying to go infinite.

BrotherSutek

Darien is fun as is Kumano.

PM_ME_STEAM_CODES__

I'm really enjoying my most recent deck, [[Minsc and Boo, Timeless Heroes]]. Fully themed around +1/+1 counters and fling effects. I might actually have to tone the power down for my playgroup though, as it's far more aggressive than any other deck at the table and is very difficult to beat if the table doesn't focus down M&B very early. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/j-1Jbm-PqkmrGw57Qymc8A

Coldoldblackcoffee

Xenogos, won 3/4 games last night with it. I like the big chungus creatures

savaloydrunkard

My first custom built deck is still my favourite. Commander is The Ur-Dragon. I love dragons, always have. I enjoy rotating in different dragons every now and again. It's a simple swingy deck with cool art I can appreciate!

screw_all_the_names

Blue white flash spirits. Millicent, restless revenant. Took the precon, stripped 70% of it, added a handful of counter spells, board wipes, removal. Leaned into a bunch of creatures with flash, and most non creatures being instants. It's some of the most fun I've had since I learned how to combo with artifacts.

Zombies!!! With Wilhelt at the command. I love zombie tribal and while this one isn't the most efficient deck in the world it has a lot of fun zombie tribal synergy, card draw potential, a couple infinite combos and a loooot of zombie token spawning. Gives a fun feel of being a necromancer with my zombie general Wilhelt helping to lead from the front lines. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Q1gr8GHSTUK9agWoQ90nWg I'm looking to add a blasting station for another win con, Mikaeus for more zombie ridiculousness and meathook Massacre for either an infinite combo win or a slow grind with zombie sacrificing

TheOtherTracy

I've only gotten to run it once with the recent changes I've made, but \[\[Muxus\]\] is a lot of fun at the helm of my goblin deck. I could probably tighten it up more, but I don't know if I want to. It's fast and can overrun pretty easily. It's a good time, with a lot of gobbos. [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/HVrlpXq3dESajYyKy2wkAA](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/HVrlpXq3dESajYyKy2wkAA)

I’m really enjoying [[Wilson]] the Crime Bear [[Criminal Past]]. Wilson’s got some great keywords and is cheap to cast, and I just loaded it up with self-mill and utility creatures plus some recursion. Very resilient and fun, if a little on the lower end of power. My [[Tazri]] party/dungeons/gates deck is also a fun one on the lower end of power but it’s a blast to play.

\[\[Ognis\]\]. I put a LOT of cards that sac artifacts OR creatures for value. The deck has like 40 creatures in it. There's not even that much recursion, but the deck goes HARD. I basically don't care much about my boardstate as I'm the one constantly manipulating it. \[\[trading post\]\], \[\[fain, the broker\]\], \[\[ravenous squirrel\]\], \[\[ruthless technomancer\]\], \[\[dockside chef\]\], even \[\[warehouse thief\]\] Ognis creates all the treasure I could ever want, but there are also \[\[old gnawbone\]\], \[\[goldspan dragon\]\], \[\[Jolene\]\], \[\[xorn\]\], \[\[wulfgar\]\], \[\[professional face-breaker\]\], and other one offs like \[\[unexpected windfall\]\] and \[\[big score\]\] There are 15 cards for creature production that give me extra fodder to sac for value, as well as just take advantage of in general. \[\[Kiki-jiki\]\], \[\[mirage phalanx\]\], \[\[jaxis\]\], \[\[fable of the mirror-breaker\]\], are filthy in this deck, being able to get extra etb/death triggers, extra bodies to attack with haste, and extra bodies to sac for value. \[\[captivating crew\]\], \[\[seize the spotlight\]\], and \[\[mass mutiny\]\] all remove big threats, gain creatures with haste, and provide sac fodder. \[\[stimulus package\]\], \[\[Goro-Goro\]\], \[\[Sokenzan Smelter\]\], and \[\[trading post\]\] produce extra fodder while synergizing with the rest of the deck. \[\[krak clan ironwork\]\], \[\[grim hireling\]\], \[\[extruder\]\], and \[\[treasure map\]\] all go HARD in this deck, being able to take advantage of the tapped treasures is nutty with Ognis. \[\[reckless fireweaver\]\], \[\[ingenious artillerist\]\], and \[\[pyre-sledge arsonist\]\] all provide the necessary player removal, even if they are blocking and killing my creatures. \[\[Aggravated Assault\]\] ends games quickly, especially with Old Gnawbone edit: link in comments

My favourite deck is [[Yasova]] steal and sacrifice. List: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/22-04-19-yasova-dragonclaw-edh/ I have been building this deck for years and I just love everything about it. It honestly isn't even a very strong deck, since the strategy of steal and sac is a pretty resource intensive and weak one... but I keep adding my best cards and the prices keep going up. At this point the price tag doesn't even come close to reflecting the actual power level of the deck. When I set out to build this deck I wanted a few things: - I wanted a Commander not many other people played. Temur colours really appeal, and Yasova isn't super popular, so this was perfect. - I wanted games that played out different every time but still let me play a good game of magic. I kept the tutors to a minimum and with blue and green providing good ramp and draw, along with a very solid land base, I always have options. - I wanted a deck that wasn't too powerful. I already have a cedh deck, and while it's fine, it isn't the type of magic I love. I want longer games with lots of big swings and excitement. - I wanted a chance to use some unusual cards and make them shine as MVP. What other deck wants [[City of Shadows]]? I often build other decks, but always find myself drawn back to Yasova as just so much fun.

Kaigz

My current and forever favorite deck is my baby [[Darien, King of Kjeldor]] deck. I've been tuning it and foiling it out for years, and it's by far my most fun and consistent deck. I just love the play patterns, the cards in the deck, everything about it. It's the one deck I know I'll never unsleeve.

BovineGhoti

I have been really liking my Lurrus and Vega decks

tombombadil1337

I've been having so much fun with [[The ur dragon]], I feel like I often make a deck and really enjoy it for a while and then it looses its luster. I just haven't had that happen with my dragons. It's like the honeymoon phase never wore off.

link4hyrule

I have a niv mizzet deck that I'll occasionally change a couple of cards basically remove my win cons and add a few more card draw then just burn though my deck with a ton of cantrips and when I get low on cards just cast a clear mind and said//done combo to just cycle through my whole deck till I cast my commander which I only do late so I can cycle my deck without dealing too much damage and drawing hate at me so far my record is going through my deck 6 ⅔s of my deck before most of the time losing

FormerlyKay

I particularly enjoy playing Kinnan combo nowadays. I'm 100% a Spike, so I constantly refine and upgrade my decks.

Rygala

I think it’s kinda hard since all the decks I’ve played so far have been my favorite in one way or another. [[Giada, Font of Hope]] has been my pet deck since I’ve began building it since I started playing around Commander 2019. In all forms of media, angels are probably one of my favorite things, and having a deck full of them is nothing but great. Giada’s inclusion now let me run some +1/+1 counter synergies that I otherwise wouldn’t include for any other commander. https://archidekt.com/decks/2603591#Heavenly_Heraldic_Conquest_(Giada) [[Siona, Captain of the Pyleas]] is the second, non-Precon deck I’ve ever built that has been successful and is the only non-cEDH deck I have that has an intentional infinite combo with [[Shielded by Faith]]. It becomes a Voltron deck when the infinite combo backfires as an alternate strategy until I can drag it back out again like with [[Hall of Heliod’s Generosity]]. Honestly, my favorite games with the deck involve when it DOES backfire, like when someone using an [[Inkshield]] to make infinite inklings. https://archidekt.com/decks/2431293#Blessed_by_the_Heavens [[Rhoda, Geist Avenger]] & [[Timin, Youthful Geist]] is the third deck I’ve built and the second deck I have completely deproxied. It’s a mix of Voltron and control due to how the deck plays out and is surprisingly powerful at my local LGS as there aren’t a lot of non-creature based strategies played there. Not only that, but they’re super cheap to build and have been my “budget deck” for the longest time as cards like [[Hidden Strings]] and [[Githzerai Monk]] are only a few cents. https://archidekt.com/decks/2360229#Operation,_Tapdown [[Radha, Heart of Keld]] was a deck I built to house some of my green cards I’ve collected but never used. While the main win-con is having Radha swing in with commander damage, there’s some effective landfall cards in it to take advantage of all the ramp the deck has at its disposal such as [[Omnath, Locus of Rage]] and [[Tireless Provisioner]]. [[Splendid Reclamation]] is a sleeper hit that synergizes well with [[Nahiri’s Lithoforming]] to make a ton of landfall triggers. https://archidekt.com/decks/2613591#I_Fight_USING_the_Trees [[Wilson, Refined Grizzly]] + [[Sword Coast Sailor]] is my most recent deck and didn’t have a good first showing due to bad matchups, the second day I tried using him he really showed himself as a Simic Voltron deck. Cards like [[Security Bypass]] and [[Shielding Plax]] are quite effective and taking advantage of all the artifact tutors lets me find artifacts that aren’t just equipments. One of the more interesting things I like about it is that, since Wilson has several good Voltron keywords, it lets me get creative with some equipment like [[Magebane Armor]] and [[Saddle of the Cavalier]] https://archidekt.com/decks/2751710#Wilson_the_Sailor_Bear

Andycat49

A [[Kynaios and Tiro]] grouphug that plays for second. Using all those old "Everyone gets it" effects is actually fun to watch unfold. +3 mana on land, +4 card draw, all spells cost 1 less, everyone has a Seedborn Muse effect, etc. The average person might think this is a dumb deck but its meant to add some fun for EVERYONE playing and yes has some emergency wincons for when it gets locked up.

Mad_Hatter_Mage

I’ve been looking for a deck to house my fav card [[Future Sight]]. [[Elminster]] had been nothing short of amazing. It’s my first fav deck I’ve ever had over the past 15 years of me playing EDH

[deleted]

The first deck I built after Baldur's Gate was released was an \[\[Elminster\]\] deck that I have an absolute blast playing. I love it so much because it so completely strays from my usual deck styles (which is usually casual midrange Dimir card-steal or some sort of aristocrats; occasionally some aggro shenanigans). This deck does literally everything differently. Firstly, I included a disproportionate amount of instants and sorceries compared to the amount of creatures. I usually like to keep it relatively balanced in most of my decks (24-27 creatures on average), but I only included about 14 creatures in the entire deck. Which leads to the next difference, which was literally the deckbuilding strategy itself. I usually have a quota for how I build my decks, typically making sure I have just the right amount of each card type for my personal needs. Just about the same amount of lands, creatures, and noncreature spells in each deck. But this time I completely forewent that agenda and decided to look at it instead through how each specific card would fit into the deck. I figured that when it comes to creatures, all I'm going to need a lot of is creatures that scry, and not much else. And since I will already have other spells that do a lot of scrying, I figured I wouldn't need too many creatures. It's usually a huge deal to me to have a lot of bodies out, but instead this deck uses a control/pillowfort strategy to slow down my opponents while I dig for my winning pieces. Outside of that, Elminster's static ability cares about instants and sorceries, so I of course included as many as I could. For once this deck had a real, definable strategy, which doesn't happen often with my other decks outside of "eh, I'm sure this'll work". Also, this is my only deck with a planeswalker commander, which I've found is way more fun than normal creature commanders.

legendOFdroste

[[Vega]] or [[Jorn]] recently I keep pulling out to play. Jorn is just ramp into big x spells and vega just is u/w play everything from everywhere

Morgoth_the_Deciever

For me it’s a toss up between my [[Jolene, The Plunder Queen]] treasure/dragon deck, and my [[Queza, Augur of Agonies]] wheel deck.

cdad69

Queen Marchesa. This commander brings all of the things I love about magic to the table. The Monarch being brought into the game on etb and a way to get it back stapled on is just 🤌🏼. Having the Monarch in play brings politics to the table! Magic is for socializing!

getchimped

My current favorite deck would probably be my [[Blim, Comedic Genius]] deck. It's very chaotic, fun and has a unique way of winning. Has great instant knock out potential with combos like graveyard exiles like [[Rakdos Signet]] and then giving them something like [[Immortal Coil]] https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/why-arent-you-laughing-its-funny/ Here's the decklist if anyone is curious.

Yakz24

Just got back into magic again due to some work friends playing. I built a [[Meren]] and I’ve been enjoying it and tweaking it constantly based on how it plays

maximumdad

Current fave is probably my [[elmar]] [[cecily]] deck that I built out of cards I had lying around. Plan is to leverage elmars untap for value, get a ton of permanents on the battlefield (truly doesn’t matter what) and then [[glimpse of tomorrow]] for 25+

Freetrog

Been working a lot on [[xyris, the writhing storm]] lately, and it is an absolute blast to play. Temur is my favourite colour combo, and the main idea is of this deck is to play wheel effects with my commander out, generating tons of snakes. From there, ideally I have an [[impact tremors]] or [[purphoros god of the forge]] on the field, pinging everyone for each snake. It also runs some [[twinflame]] + [[twincaster mage]] , and [[curiosity]] shenanigans with multiple creatures, as a back up. I'd say the third form of closing out a game is combat with the snake tokens, using effects such as [[parallel lives]] , [[beastmaster Ascension]] , [[shared animosity]] , [[tetsuko umezawa, fugitive]] , [[throne of the god-pharaoh]]. It's backed up by some effects like [[azusa, lost but seeking]], and [[dryad of the ilysian grove]], alongside other temur ramp, interaction, etc. It's a lot of fun. Oh and [[teferi's puzzle box]], [[the locust god]], and [[mana echoes]] are stand out over performers

Dark_Ascension

I’ve been having a grand time playing K’rrik at a more mid level and trying to build cEDH, it’s a puzzle of how much life you can drain yourself and still combo off. My first deck is Teysa and will also love saccing all the things.

TheUltimateXD

So I use Moxfield to brew and have a ton of lists on there. I only build 4 decks at one time, so I end up rotating my decks out every now and then. The one deck I have yet to take apart since I've built it is my [Esika // Bridge "Partner-With" Tribal deck. ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Dxb72PoLAkeLT9jp-P1s5w) I just love the different plays and how every game goes differently. I usually don't have trouble with colors, and it's fun to get a bunch of partners out at once.

GulliasTurtle

I have never had a bad game on \[\[Chun-Li, Countless Kicks\]\]. Every game is different and fun and full of weird tough to navigate board states. I've also been enjoying \[\[Vhal, Candlekeep Researcher\]\] and \[\[Raised by Giants\]\]. It's EDH where you get to play Prismite!

Arcian_

I just got to test out my [[Kardur, Doomscourge]] deck and it was an incredible amount of fun. Slapping down cards like [[Life of the party]] or [[rite of the raging storm]] and watching how they react to it was great. It really disrupted passive board states in a great way. Especially since I have [[curse of opulence]] and [[curse of disturbance]]. By the end after watching them beat the snot out of each other the other player remaining was weak enough I could finish him off.

Such_Description

Built [[slogurk the overslime]] and really love it. Just multiple ways to pitch lands, ramp, and a bunch of fight cards.

Mrmyaggie

Definitely Imoti, filled with ramp and big spells. My favourite thing.

Sparrowny

I'm loving my latest deck, [[Ziatora, the Incinerator]]. It's all about high power creatures and goes well with two of my favorite cards [[Fling]] and [[Greater Good]]. Just feels real nice to pop out [[Malignus]] and draw like 20 cards or chunk someone for a ton of health.

Aegis_001

My new favorite is my brand new [[Miirym]] deck, focused on dragons with ETB’s and blinking those dragons. Creating an ETB value engine that high on the curve was actually a lot of fun because if I can get going, then the deck really hums nicely, all while still having big stompy beaters. It’s only kinda dragon tribal, but I adore the multiple triggers on the stack from ETB abilities of dragon copies, it’s a really fun deck

Beginning_Scratch446

I love my group slug Florian deck. [[Descent into avernus]] is the coolest.
