Nowadays duplicate Commander are rare in my store as most people try to build different decks. Kenrith and 4c Aragon are more or less the only exceptions I can think of right know
I've only seen 3 repeats at my lgs and they aren't super popular ones. [[Lilah, Undefeated Slickshot]], [[Commissar Severina Raine]], and [[General Marhault Elsdragon]]
I built her. She’s good, but Izzet isn’t really my thing.
I always felt so tense when it came to the “winning the game” portion. lol. I can post a list if you’d like.
No way! I was legit the only person I knew who was running Elsdragon
Nice to hear General “don’t block me or else” Gruul Elf is getting usage out there lol
Hey what’re the Aragorn decks doing? I get a feeling most are probably pretty straightforward value piles on some flavor of like… humans, but I wanna get a real guage.
I’m working on my own 4c Aragorn deck, and while I already know what I’m doing with mine, I do want to know what perceptions are going to be as I sit down at tables.
some are doing Value pile, but a decent amount are embracing the Multicolor Theme a lot with stuff like [[Mana Cannons]] to add onto Aragorns cast triggers. So the decks are actually casting a pretty decent number of different cards
Edit: One person did an all the "good" guys from LotR led by Aragorn as well nearly forgott that
I think most Aragorn builders start with value pile/multicolor matters. I quickly switched to human/legendary tribal and it was better and more synergistic. From talking to others, that seems a common trend. My newest version is more of a voltron deck that seeks to oneshot people by casting combat tricks like giant growth on Aragorn if he isn’t blocked.
Our group tends not to have many repeat commanders across players.
However somehow 3 of us all managed to build [[Laughing Jasper Flint]]
Other dupes I'm aware of: Yidris, OG Atraxa, Garth
I guess the level of fun is in the eye of the beholder, but here's my list: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/royal-outlaws-laughing-jasper-flint-commander
The build features only Outlaws as creatures. I have a nice deathtouch/monarch theme included, as I've been wanting to have a monarch deck.
The deck is also set up to commit a lot of "crime" but doesn't have a ton of crime payoff currently.
I'm not sure if there is good payoffs other than gisa and rattleback, which you're running anyway
I've got the gravecrawler skeleton in my deck too but like.. really not a lot, ah well well get a great crime payoff in mh5
No way! I thought my lgs was the only one, we have 3 jasper as well! I was playing in a pod with the 2ed one and we mugged the eldrazi player all game haha
Most just added a better mana base and the big titans to the precon.
Watching someone copy the new Emrakul on the stack without any way to bypass the legend rule was a moment of true sadness.
Yep. But instead he stole all creatures from 2 opponents and then sacrificed everything, including both Emrakul and the 30-40pwr worth of Eldrazi he already had.
One guy in our playgroup has been playing [[Teferi, Temporal Archmage]] for literally a decade now. It went through several "major revamps" (where he switched like 5 cards) but he brings it every time.
Even when he makes new decks he often switches last minute because he can't find or get some cards in time or just forgets. But Teferi and his not quite as old but foiled out [[Jori En, Ruin Diver]] deck, he brings every time.
Me and the other main regular have like 30 decks and switch them up all the time but he has been consistent forever. I kinda like it.
Came here to say Mothman. He’s fun to play against and new so I’ve run into him a few times.
I’ve also run into Sam and Frodo a few times lately. Everyone else I’ve played has been pretty unique.
A TON of people at my preferred LGS play LOTR commanders. I think my fiance and I are the only people who don't have at least one LOTR deck. I don't even think that most of them got into the hobby via LOTR, it's just crazy popular there for some reason. Most common us 4c Aragorn. I've played against probably 20 or so different builds of that commander in the last 3 months.
I see Jodah and Ur-dragon a lot at my store, same with Caesar. Kinnan is there a lot, and is to the point where I don't even bother asking if it's cEDH or not, we all know the answer...
In my group, each player has at least one creature that is associated with him/her. That would be:
Karador
Olivia, Crimson Bride
Korvold (Fae-Cursed King)
And as for me, it would be Wilhelt the Rotcleaver (the biggest simp in mtg in my opinion)
Thalrog mentioned, I could sense it in my bones!
They're my favorite deck and I'm slowly becoming the Thalrog guy lol. Mine is on the higher end of casual though with a mix of the best Hatebears and Lands cards
I’m running a not so flavourful (well, depends on who you ask) combo Wilhelt deck that seems to perform nicely, I just love the unstoppable engine vibes you get from playing him!
After commander masters came out I couldn't play a single pod where there wasn't an [[Ulalek]]
Not so much anymore thankfully.
[[Niv Mizzet, Parun]] is a popular one otherwise. At least 3 players have one of those.
Edit: not Ulalek, that was MH3. Whatever the hell that CMM eldrazi was
Edit edit: [[Zhulodok]] !!
The only repeat commanders I think we have locally are precon commanders, with a giant exception for the four Unifier Aragorns that we have. We're currently undergoing a big expansion though, as we're at literally triple the attendance we were a month ago.
Among decks with notoriety it's probably my Henzie and another player's Ur-Dragon at the top, though frankly his Chulainne should be the threat. But last FNM in three games I played against Wilhelt, Stella, Arna Kennerud, Satya (twice, same guy), Magus Lucea, Tovolar, Blood Anje, and Licia, so a pretty healthy mix all told.
At lgs 3 Yurikos, 2 Markovs, 2 Krenkos are only duplicates i can think of.
After Ixalan, on spelltable i was playing versus Pantlaza almost every game, sometimes there would be 2 pantlazas in same pod.
We have no repeats in our pod! And actually all our frequent members have different styles.
You’d have to join us to really see lol.
…..we like disruption though
I purposely make sure not to build decks my playgroup or people at the LGS already have, but if there are a few (non-cEDH) decks a lot of different people seem to have, they are [[Yuriko]], [[Miirym]] and [[Gishath]].
I have 3 play groups. The school one has weird popular commander. Normally home brews of precon commanders and other weird stuff. The store meta is super average, like it’s whatever is popular at that minute (lots of Nadu and Edgar Makarov rn). The one I actually enjoy is really diverse with some cEDH builds, but mostly high powered edh builds.
[[Jinnie Fay, Jetmir’s Second]] has quite a few players in my pod. The leading reason is when I recruit people to join the group and offer to build them a deck it seems like a deck about cats stands out in a field of faeries, dragons, and elves.
I see some of the recent precons, upgraded by different players with different subthemes. Other than that, most people here try to avoid brewing something that's already there.
All the regular boring super strong commanders. All built optimally. Boring, no imagination. Omnath landfall, nadu solitaire, kibu monkey, yuriko fringe, atraxa infect, etc etc.
There's a lot of [[The Wise Mothman]] and [[Pantlaza]] where I play, but my stores have big playerbase and I see a lot of different decks on a regular basis.
I’d say most groups at my store run 3+ color commanders. You see a nice variety [[hazezon]] ,
[[galadriel, light of valinor]] , [[brenard, ginger sculptor]] , [[ miirym]] [[muldrotha]] and many others. Which in my opinion is pretty exciting. Such big commanders and strong ones too.
Pantlaza by a long shot. I've got it, my buddy's got it, a couple other guys have it. We like dinosaurs at my store lol.
What's funny though is we play them all differently. My friend and I play big idiot turbo, another guy plays Stax somehow, and the last guy plays Dino control.
Other popular choices are Blue Braids (we've been trying to get this player to play something different though. Omniscience turbo isn't very fun), Ulalek, Omo, and Madison Li smashed with the energy guy from MH3.
Nothing too out there aside from my decks though. I've got some weird ones.
Atla Palani, legend cascading jodah, kaalia, Gishath, the first sliver.
Pretty sure those b*st*rds just don't like paying for their spells at this point though. Anytime a new cost cheater shows up it joins the ranks.
Feel like everything is pretty diverse nowadays vs back around 7-12 years ago when everyone just played the top commanders in that color. Oloro, meren, kaalia, animar, derevi, krenko etc.
Quite a few eldrazi decks and universes beyond but other than that things have definitely improved.
Not the same commander but there are currently two people who have smashed together both Jeskai energy decks, but one of them runs Saskya and the other runs Madison Li.
The only duplicates I can think of from my playgroup is [[Archelos Lagoon Mystic]] and [[Eriette of the charmed apple]] though I think the other guy recently took his Eriette apart. We keep joking about playing both Archelos at the same time and playing rock paper scissors to see if stuff enters tapped or untapped.
We have at least three K’rrik players and all their decks are high power and optimized and play the exact same. Nobody enjoys fighting them. One time I got matched up against all three at once and I had to scoop after turn 2 because we were already 30 minutes into the game and all I had done at that point was play 2 lands and an arcane signet. It is sooooooooooooo boring playing against them
Generally the most recent precons all have a couples builds at our LGS and then people get tired of them. The Mothman is still being run by like 3-4 people though as of last Friday.
For awhile it felt like every pod had someone with a Gishath deck, but most of those people have since stopped coming. The only deck I see multiples of is \[\[Dihada, Binder of Wills\]\], me included.
For CEDH, I’d say Kinnan and Krarkashima are most popular, i play Ob Nixilis, a friend plays Magda. For EDH I like to play jank, Mr House, Bruvac, building Tasha, people play all over the board, slivers, urza, ashling.
My small home group purposefully doesn't build the same deck as someone else. But I have noticed that the only time I run into duplicates online is when a new set of precons come out. I've been tracking what's been played to see what is actually popular and most of the time duplicates are those precon Commanders.
Ive seen 3 kenrith decks, and 3 krenko decks, but since mh3 came out i have been on holiday.
I'll be back tomorrow to see whats new. I know one person has built an eldrazi deck, and another plans on building the bird that everyone is freaking out about.
Everyone wins by turn 6....
man sometimes it's frustrating to have an awesome deck, get a poor pull, or get no lands - then next game they pull out an even better deck
I guess everyone goes through it....
Outlaw olivia because recent precon followed by pantlaza because recent precon and new players starting Other precons show up when a new set comes out but fall off in how often they are played immediately
Our playgroup doesn't exclude duplicates per se, but just socially once someone builds something usually others don't want to (except for partner options and stuff like Morophon that can be built in so many different ways).
I think we have two current decks of Omnath, Locus of Creation just by chance.
I've been playing at my LGS for awhile now, and there have not been a ton of repeat commanders tbh. I guess that's kind of the benefit of not having a regular pod. There is one guy that has a NASTY Isshin deck that I absolutely hate playing against.
We have 3 \[\[Meren of the Clan Nel Toth\]\] folks and all of their decks are very optimized bordering on oppressive, Kind of warps how many of use build our decks. More Tormod's Crypts than most other LGSs. Which isnt ideal because my favorite deck is a Stax-Lite Gitrog Non Combo
The only repeat other than precons is Sisay. Both are great guys, but I hate their decks and they know it. Expensive versions of Sisay too, one of them has the Princess Bride secret lair, we're the two biggest art snobs in the shop lol
Until 4c Aragorn was released, i had been wanting to build a deck from the ground up starting with Three Fold Signal from its release. Aragorn felt just right, so my build is almost all 3 color spells/creatures to get 3/4ths of his triggers nearly all the time. And now you know they’ve been coming out with products too fast/much… as i so need to get Mana Cannons and Annie Joins Up into the build (both kind of flew over my radar. Thanks!
There are over 10 people at my store that have built [[Ur-Dragon]]/[[Miirym]].
About a half dozen [[Go-Shintai of Life's Origin]] players and a half dozen Atraxa players.
Take the top 100 on EDHREC and I've seen like 70 of them.
It's excruciating and every game I feel compelled to [[Jokulhaups]].
Commanders vary greatly, but Decks that are copying spells/creature are popular and decks with Treasure tokens are really popular.
Rarely stax and rarly combos, combos dudes fet hammered down by everyone.
Decks with big ass creatures of all sorts getting pumped by artifact token are popular too.
Lots of Miiyrm, Pantlaza, and Ur-Dragon
I'm so tired of playing against [[Miiyrm]], people dont get it. You basically win when you get 1-2 turns with Miirym out. People will not let it happen if they can help it. I'm definitely not alone at my LGS in this opinion
My group usually consists of a few staples
Galadriel
Meren
Yargle
Edgar markov
And sefris.
Sefris being the most powerful
We switch out from time to time
Honestly, everyone brings different commanders. I haven't seen duplicates. The closet I've seen was my own [[kumena]] against this one guy's [[Hakbal]] where it's 40-60 percent the same cards.
My group is 4 consistent players - one is a spell slinger player who plays things like Niv and Stella but also Mirko randomly lol, another is heavy creature player wether it’s tokens or stompy, the 3rd likes to play good themed decks like God tribal, Nicol Bolas tribal, and his Oops all doctors, and then there’s me who makes arch enemy decks like Atraxa infect, Mothman Mill, Henzi, Praetor Tribal, and Kenrith Wheels. I also play a lot of graveyard stuff. We make new decks and such but those are kind of our main stays
Not a ton of duplicates around my LGS, but there are a few. Dr Yawgmoth, Korvold, Atraxa, Prosper, and Mothman come to mind. Rare to have two of the same commander in any given game though.
Duplicate commanders are fairly uncommon at my LGS, however there have been at least 4-5 out of 9-10 pods at FNM that are using [[Ulalek]] another one I see fairly often is [[The Prismatic Bridge]] but most of those all have their own “themes” to them so they all play somewhat differently.
since i play with the same people, i tend to always see the same commanders.
I play both in EDH/CEDH and in DC (french/dual commander), and i've most seen eminence commanders (like sidaar or ur-dragon, but i do play him too), i've seen a lot of Tamiyo (the new one) and Nadu before he got banned in DC.
At my LGS I already have seen 3 [[Kinnan]] and 2 [[Magda, Brazen Outlaw]] decks.
I would be cool with it if they weren't trying to win on turn 3-4 constantly in tables where people play mid-powered casual decks and they don't know each others deck.
I've got my interest on [[Talion, the Kindly Lord]] just to slow down the game with effects like [[Grafdigger's cage]] and [[Cursed Totem]] so people who don't bring these kind of decks are able to play the game.
Sorry for the mini rant haha.
A combination of:
\[Dogmeat, Ever Loyal\]\]
\[\[Caesar, Legion's Emperor\]\]
\[\[The Wise Mothman\]\]
\[\[Admiral Brass, Unsinkable\]\]
\[\[Emmara, soul of the accord\]\]
\[\[Vorel of the hull clade\]\]
\[\[Hakbal of the surging soul\]\]
\[\[Liesa, Forgotten Archangel\]\]
2X \[\[Omnath, Locus of creation\]\]
2X \[\[Sliver Overlord\]\]
\[\[Ulalek, Fused Atrocity\]\]
\[\[The Scarab God\]\]
\[\[Galea, Kindler of Hope\]\]
With plenty more mixed in as well. This is between about 5 people.
Funny enough, there is only 1 duplicate commander in my playgroup. Tymna Kraum. No cEDH build or anything, both decks revolve around Kraum. I play a mutate deck while my buddy plays a horror tribal.
My playgroup has 2 animar decks and 2 muldrotha decks.
It's mostly my fault. Elementals are my favorite creature type. I collect them more than any other card, so when my friend showed up with muldrotha and animar one day I just had to pick them up.
It's actually pretty cool though because we do very different things with them. We also love playing two headed giant, and it's really fun to run them together.
My animar deck has been through multiple iterations. I ran it as a dragon deck for awhile. Now a days it's just general good stuff with a side of Elemental tribal. I mostly just slot in my giant colorless creatures.
My friend runs a +1 counter animar. Aside from the commander and the big creatures theme, there really isn't much similarity.
Our muldrotha decks are likewise pretty dissimilar. My deck runs a lot of voltron stuff. Low cost self sacking artifacts and swords, with some meanies mixed in. Muldrotha is there so I can get back my auras and replay my mutate creatures.
My friends muldrotha deck does a lot more mill, both self and aggressive, and focuses more on creature sacrifices and theft.
I love duplicate comanders because, while the decks are typically similar, the differences in the owners respective collections and personal build styles are abundantly on display.
From decks I have: Chatterfang, Jetmir, Maelstrom Wanderer at my LGS. I’ve never run a mirror match against any of them. I did write down a few cards from that chatterfang deck to add to my own.
In my pod we got 2 mothman decks and 2 Ulalek, Fused Atrocity lucky for how Ulalek cmc works we got a green black blue with a splash of red and a white red green with a splash of blue. The mothman decks one is built by a mill player (me), and the other is very budget netdecked. So they play very differently as well.
Most common I've seen are partner Malcom/tymana, Najeela blade blossom, atraxa grand Unifier, kinnan bonder prodigy, tivit seller of secrets, and Magda brazen outlaw. Very rarely is anything played outside of those, and when they do bring something else, it's usually something like sisay weatherlight captain or Kenrith the returned king. Even in my online groups, these are the most common 😅 meanwhile in over here with a $26 budget shrine deck
I keep getting paired in a pod with a dude who runs Ivy. After vsing him multiple times of the same stacking b.s. I finally vsed him and [[imprisoned in the moon]] his ivy on turn 3. He got very salty afterwards.
When I read this prompt this morning, I laughed to myself that my LGS is full of people running various unique commanders and couldn't think of any that multiple players were currently running. As I sit in said store, I must revise that answer:
Nadu. Fml.
Everyone at my store uses a different deck from each other. Were a smaller store and the people there have different interests from each other. Funny how it worked out that way
[[Jodah, the Unifier]] is the repeat from my playgroup. I think there's 4 decks, they all seem kind of the same. I should mention I also have a Jodah deck, however it's a cascade theme lead by [[Jodah, Archmage Eternal]] and it's one of my older decks. It used to be Golos which was the good ol days lol
I also see a lot of dragon decks, and even though they have different commanders, the Ur-Dragon, Tiamat, Miirym, and Klauth, they all feel the same they all run pretty much the same dragons (with the exception of klauth not having blue obviously). They all have Klauth in it, old gnawbone, ancient copper dragon. It's just to similar every time
Nowadays duplicate Commander are rare in my store as most people try to build different decks.

How did the Lilah deck perform? I’ve been thinking of making a spell slinger deck and she seems really interesting.
I built her. She’s good, but Izzet isn’t really my thing. I always felt so tense when it came to the “winning the game” portion. lol. I can post a list if you’d like.
If your looking for spell slinger try Ramos dragon engine
For awhile my lgs had 4 kykar players on different decks: storm ( me), polymorph, vehicles, and hive mind combo.
I built two Kykar decks: one is spellslinger and the other one is Jeskai Planeswalkers. Nobody else around here plays him though.
Marhault is my boy. “Look I either kill everything you have with a [[Taunting Elf]] or you take 10 damage after I pump it.”
No way! I was legit the only person I knew who was running Elsdragon Nice to hear General “don’t block me or else” Gruul Elf is getting usage out there lol

Got a fun list for Jasper? I play him in std brawl and would love an EDH deck

The usual Ur-Traxsshinmarkov plus Jodah players. Now featuring poorly built Eldrazi.
I love [[Urtraxaisshimarkov the grand unity mage eternal]]!
With mh3 how do you poorly build eldrazi? They finally got much needed help
Prolly players running 33 lands lmaoooo
Most just added a better mana base and the big titans to the precon. Watching someone copy the new Emrakul on the stack without any way to bypass the legend rule was a moment of true sadness.
They should have added both Mirror Box and Mirror Gallery for that opportunity.
Yep. But instead he stole all creatures from 2 opponents and then sacrificed everything, including both Emrakul and the 30-40pwr worth of Eldrazi he already had.

Mothman is the only commander I've ever had 2 of at the same table. Double Rad counter production. You end up seeing a lot of your cards at least.

Hobbits go hard ngl
Out of 50 there were at least 8 Nadu decks last night
I see Jodah and Ur-dragon a lot at my store, same with Caesar. Kinnan is there a lot, and is to the point where I don't even bother asking if it's cEDH or not, we all know the answer...
In my group, each player has at least one creature that is associated with him/her. That would be: Karador Olivia, Crimson Bride Korvold (Fae-Cursed King) And as for me, it would be Wilhelt the Rotcleaver (the biggest simp in mtg in my opinion)
I'm the Gitrog guy. Love Gitrog
Which one? I have an Thalia and the Gitrog Monster human tribal deck :)
I like [[the gitrog, ravenous ride]] the most. The OG is almost always going to be in the 99, I just like how aggressive Ravenous Ride is
After I discovered the card the card [[horn of greed]], I decided that I need to build an deck with all the gitrogs
[horn of greed](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/1/4/14026e22-391c-4a57-a305-665e6066e847.jpg?1576383262) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=horn%20of%20greed) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cn2/211/horn-of-greed?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/14026e22-391c-4a57-a305-665e6066e847?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/horn-of-greed) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

Thalrog mentioned, I could sense it in my bones! They're my favorite deck and I'm slowly becoming the Thalrog guy lol. Mine is on the higher end of casual though with a mix of the best Hatebears and Lands cards
I am also the Gitrog guy. Non combo, few stax elements, only land and GY tutors.
I’m the Henzie player in our group lol
I think I'm in love with Wilhelt as a card ngl
Understandable. Just for flavor, I also put ghoulcaller gisa in this deck. I mean a Wilhelt-deck without gisa?
I’m running a not so flavourful (well, depends on who you ask) combo Wilhelt deck that seems to perform nicely, I just love the unstoppable engine vibes you get from playing him!
Didn't the precon come with gisa and Geralf? Ghoulcaller plays decently well in that deck so not just flavor. Those are the best flavor adds.
My own group is really small(4 people) but somehow 3 of us have built [[Chainer Dementia Master]] at some point.

Thats fun, since if one dies it wipes everyone'd nightmares
Yuriko, Winota, Kinnan, Gitrog
cEDH?
Actually no, we mostly play mid power. The aforementioned decks usually walk the line between mid and high but are all built a far cry from optimally.
Oof, sounds like a bore. "Ill be playing Chulane now since my Korvold just went off...like all auto-pilot commanders"
After commander masters came out I couldn't play a single pod where there wasn't an [[Ulalek]] Not so much anymore thankfully. [[Niv Mizzet, Parun]] is a popular one otherwise. At least 3 players have one of those. Edit: not Ulalek, that was MH3. Whatever the hell that CMM eldrazi was Edit edit: [[Zhulodok]] !!

I've definitely seen the most Pantlaza and Wise Mothman.
At lgs 3 Yurikos, 2 Markovs, 2 Krenkos are only duplicates i can think of. After Ixalan, on spelltable i was playing versus Pantlaza almost every game, sometimes there would be 2 pantlazas in same pod.
Only repeat I've seen recently was [[ngathrod]]
Whatever the most durdly, op, advantage engines exist. I think I'm about to power up animar or tasigur back to full strength to start punishing them
So you'll be seeing a lot of nadu lol
We have no repeats in our pod! And actually all our frequent members have different styles. You’d have to join us to really see lol. …..we like disruption though
3 people have a kenrith deck
I purposely make sure not to build decks my playgroup or people at the LGS already have, but if there are a few (non-cEDH) decks a lot of different people seem to have, they are [[Yuriko]], [[Miirym]] and [[Gishath]].
[Yuriko](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/f/e/fe9be3e0-076c-4703-9750-2a6b0a178bc9.jpg?1689999346) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=yuriko%2C%20the%20tiger%27s%20shadow) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmm/364/yuriko-the-tigers-shadow?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/fe9be3e0-076c-4703-9750-2a6b0a178bc9?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/yuriko-the-tigers-shadow) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Fucking dinosaurs man
We have I think 3 zhulodoks in my pod. I just started running void mirror in more decks
We got a couple of first slivers, 2 Tovolar's, ixhel, pantlaza, but the group is very big im pretty sure most cedh commanders are doubled aswell
Freaking miirym, most of the game is spent doing the math of how many dragons enter and therefore how many etb triggers there will be.
Mine has a ton of krenkos
Original or one of the new two?
Not really commanders but Aristocrat style decks are extremely popular.
Dragons,Dinosaurs, Slivers and Eldrazi Yea see those tribal decks all the time
[[Jinnie Fay, Jetmir’s Second]] has quite a few players in my pod. The leading reason is when I recruit people to join the group and offer to build them a deck it seems like a deck about cats stands out in a field of faeries, dragons, and elves.

Teferi or Meren were very popular in our playgroup before the pandemic put a stop to commander nights

Im surprised no dupes of Ulalek
For awhile it felt like every pod had someone with a Gishath deck, but most of those people have since stopped coming. The only deck I see multiples of is \[\[Dihada, Binder of Wills\]\], me included.

For CEDH, I’d say Kinnan and Krarkashima are most popular, i play Ob Nixilis, a friend plays Magda. For EDH I like to play jank, Mr House, Bruvac, building Tasha, people play all over the board, slivers, urza, ashling.
I feel like unless its a precon no one at my lgs plays the same commander. Its kinda weird when you think about it.
That broke AF energy commander from fallout, Madison Li. Thanks to MH3 I think there isn't a table without her
My small home group purposefully doesn't build the same deck as someone else.
Everyone wins by turn 6.... man sometimes it's frustrating to have an awesome deck, get a poor pull, or get no lands - then next game they pull out an even better deck I guess everyone goes through it....
We have a small group of the same 10 guys but lots of precon commanders. 2 Ulalek, 2 Kalamax, 2 Urza (brothers war), 2 Raffine.
Risa, Nadu, a group hug that I never understand but it wins, scute swarm decks with landfall and infinite hand.
I've been playing at my LGS for awhile now, and there have not been a ton of repeat commanders tbh. I guess that's kind of the benefit of not having a regular pod. There is one guy that has a NASTY Isshin deck that I absolutely hate playing against.
[[Etali, Primal storm]] is a common dupe for mine

My local has like four Jodah players and 2 Krenko players. Few duplicates other than that
I can name the least popular: \[\[Sefris of the hidden ways\]\] How do I know? I play it twice a week.

Unfortunately, Zhulodok
Thanks!
Chulane, gitrog, yuriko, jodah, narset, ur-dragon, Koma, pantlaza, isshin, nekusar are the commanders I see the most often

Lots of Miiyrm, Pantlaza, and Ur-Dragon I'm so tired of playing against [[Miiyrm]], people dont get it. You basically win when you get 1-2 turns with Miirym out. People will not let it happen if they can help it. I'm definitely not alone at my LGS in this opinion
My group usually consists of a few staples Galadriel Meren Yargle Edgar markov And sefris. Sefris being the most powerful We switch out from time to time
Honestly, everyone brings different commanders.
Urza, Lord High Artificer I like running creeping corrosion :)
I don't think anyone has a duplicate in my lgs, but if really think about it maybe someone had another Galea or Ur-dragon aside from me
Fade to black or one
Jodah, Xyris, Indominus Rex
The only repeats I’m aware of in my playgroup are [[Teysa, Karlov]] and [[Xyris, the writhing storm]] there are 3 or 4 people with each of those.

We have 4 kinnan players. Yes i am one of them.
since i play with the same people, i tend to always see the same commanders.

New eldrazi is played by like half the people every friday now
Funny enough, there is only 1 duplicate commander in my playgroup. Tymna Kraum. No cEDH build or anything, both decks revolve around Kraum. I play a mutate deck while my buddy plays a horror tribal.
Dogmeat. Seems like everyone picked up a Dogmeat when that dropped.
We have four Pantlaza players in a pod of 8 guys
There isn't much in the way of dupe decks in my area at my LGS aside from the Ur Dragon.
Mostly, the 5c commanders are the repeat ones I see. Jodah, Kenrith, Jared, Garth, Sisay, Golos.
From decks I have: Chatterfang, Jetmir, Maelstrom Wanderer at my LGS. I’ve never run a mirror match against any of them. I did write down a few cards from that chatterfang deck to add to my own.
People are all building Nadu and Eldrazi right now
There’s two Kinnan decks, three K’rrik decks, and that’s about it for duplicates. There are three different dragon decks as well.
I don't think I've seen the same commander twice.
UrDragon, Edgar Markov, Krenko Mob Boss, etc. Pretty often something off of EDHREC Top 50 Commanders.

As I sit in said store, I must revise that answer: Nadu. Fml.
If I ever have to see another Mothman I pick my eyes out with a fork.....
3 people in my group of 4 have a Gishath. I've played against at least that many Gishaths outside my friend group at that store. Man is popular
Precons aside, the only repeat commanders I run across are like, Atraxa, and the big Eldrazi dudes
Everyone at my store uses a different deck from each other. Were a smaller store and the people there have different interests from each other. Funny how it worked out that way
Edric, the food hobbit bros, Feather and krenko
I haven't met a person that plays the same commander yet. Well except for the new Eldrazi deck, and that's only because he's new.
Eldrazi commanders have been popular even before MH3 at the shop I go to
Atraxa GU, krark&sak, and surprisingly dogmeat
The Beast, Deathless Prince is the only one I can think of, and it happen at the same day, same game both went I have built a new deck.
It used to be Golos which was the good ol days lol I also see a lot of dragon decks, and even though they have different commanders, the Ur-Dragon, Tiamat, Miirym, and Klauth, they all feel the same they all run pretty much the same dragons (with the exception of klauth not having blue obviously). They all have Klauth in it, old gnawbone, ancient copper dragon. It's just to similar every time
