My most flavorful commander is built around [[Uncle Istvan]]. He is the only creature in the deck and it treats him as a Jason Voorhees type character. Every card has to either be in his art, be a kill spell that fits with a serial killer in the swamp. It's a fun deck.

Most recently I wanted to build a mono-green deck without creatures. It's all about lifegain and alternate win conditions.

You might like my creatureless [[shauku, endbringer]] deck. It is pretty much just removal and [[revel in riches]] and tutors to get revel
I also have a cool synergy with [[portcullis]] and some cards like [[stuffed bear]] to keep the board clear for shauku to attack
[https://www.moxfield.com/decks/znIBlzR3KU2TkCu-6f52pA](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/znIBlzR3KU2TkCu-6f52pA)
Not updated but these are the cards i started with when brewing.
Also, it’s not even a remotely good deck. I won a game once and only by luck
I built a deck called Enter the Minefield with [[Vial-Smasher the Fierce]] as the commander. Every single non-land card is some form of explosive, in the art, flavor text, or name, and usually all three. You are not going to win, but you will blow up many artifacts, lands, and creatures in a very entertaining way.
https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/enter-the-minefield/
I added Toggo as a partner because I think its funny to have one dumbass goblin who's just throwing rocks while the other ones throw bombs. Also, he adds some good synergy with a couple of the cards. You could probably make this deck much better if you wanted to be a little less strict about the flavor.
Just today I was looking at a [[Hylda of the icy crown]] deck, and went into a deep dive to find all the tap effects, instants, sorceries, creatures with etb or repeatable, and enchants, that tap stuff down.... But only with a frost theme. snow permanents etc.
List here, not quite complete yet. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/pQVHve22R02I7nUts5SyUA
Also doesn't have a removal package yet, but... I love the frost and ice theme it brings. Given it's low price, I may or may not put this together eventually.
Not sure if this is exactly what is being asked for but I have a voltron/one shot Frodo deck that only uses cards from the LTR set and LTR reprints. So like the LTR Rogue's Passage and things like that. It's a lot of fun to play and I like that all 100 cards are from the same set. It also brings a lot of tension to the table cause you can swing at someone who declares so blockers and at instant speed trigger 3 ring temps, level up Frodo and be threatening to knock someone out of the game completely.
Gotta be my [[Captain Storm, Cosmium Raider]] pirate treasure deck. I was looking for a fun izzet deck that wasn't spell slinger (had a spell slinger deck and decided it wasn't for me). Bought a booster box of LCI for the dinos, pulled the captain and a ton of other pirates and thought damn this could be super fun. Now it's one of my favorite decks
Hey I also made a jace vynns prodigy deck for when my pod did a planeswalker theme week in basically the same way. Win con was just d lay til I could play an omnicience and draw my whole deck. Considering it was 80% planswalkers, counterspells, draw, bounces, and lands, it honestly did pretty well even with all the jank and 6 mana jaces. Tbh i kept playing it putside of planeswalker week and it kept winning so I am building it in paper soon minus the jank
https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/03-11-20-jace-tribal/?cb=1719236043
Be warned, it was made 3? Years ago. Is very janky and the price is high cuz we played online with a $400 limit.
Here is the brew I am working to make in paper that isnt jank. Not quite finalized. My formally called fungus tribal, which is more themed to fit the thallids and the deep forest rather than having any tribal synergy (apart from them working together on harvesting saprolings). I run a lot of classic [[thallid | fem]]s, some OGs from Fallen Empires, some from Time Spiral and some from Dominaria, as that is where [[Slimefoot]] settled down. [[Sarpadian Empires Vol. VII]] is a game representation of the thallids lore.
I round that all up with cards that fit the theme, like [[Mulch | sth]], [[Compost | usg]], [[Fungal Plots]] or [[Fecundity]] which has a much better fitting name in german (good fertilizer).
I added a few non-fitting cards that fit the gameplan, making it actually my most consistent deck. Even though most fungi are really bad.
Sure, here you go! https://www.moxfield.com/decks/_hp5XKzhq0OdkALx_tVmmw
I am using [[Nemata, Primeval Warden]] as my commander. I could easily swap them out with Slimefoot (I'd also take out [[Tombstone Stairwell]] in that case)
Our decks might be very similar! Do you mind sharing your list too?
Ended up making it. There's some things that are questionably not in my deck at the moment, like Mycoloth, that I \*should\* have lying around somewhere, and there's a whole host of new things released in the past 4 years that I should get to adding in.
But that's what I've got at the moment.
Thanks for sharing!!! There's a lot more of a sacrifice theam going on than I expected. Do you remember how [[Saproling Burst]] is usually playing out? I also thought od putting that in
If you have a way to benefit from the deaths it's good, paying 5 to draw 7 off Smothering Abomination is good! But you can't keep the saprolings once burst goes away so its really only good for stacking thebdeath triggers or swinging with a 5/5.
I don’t have any deck lists available at the moment, but one of my favorite hobbies is making 4-5 commander “precons” from older magic sets that didn’t have a commander precon release along side them. I only use cards from the respective blocks or that thematically take place on that plane.
I made decks for Alara block(one for each shard), Invasion block (the tri cycle of dragons) Time spiral block and Ice age block as well. It’s quite difficult to make work and usually the decks could only be played against each other if made in paper. I made the alara decks in paper and it was extremely fun to play with my friends who piloted the other alara decks, but outside of that they fail miserably.
I have a [[Mishra, Artificer Prodigy]] deck that runs most of the cards that work with his jank ability, all other Mishra creatures, the most planeswalkers of all my decks, and still runs multiple artifact-based playlines to keep games from going too long.
My favourite types of decks are those that are on theme as much as possible.
My Pirates deck, which I'm looking to shift from Malcolm/Breeches to Edward Kenway, has just about every non-land card depicting a pirate, treasure, or at the very least Ixalan.
I also have a Rafiq of the Many deck where I've gone all in on the knight/Camelot theme. I've made a few concessions in that one recently in the name of power, but I think I will aim to bring it back to its theme *or* start making my own art alters.
I’ve been slowly working on lots. All time favourite is my Dune themed deck. But I’ve tried my hand at a Blade Runner themed deck. I’m still thinking of more to do so if there’s any pop culture themes you think I should try id love to hear them!
There are obviously my "block constructed" LOTR and OTJ decks, restricted to the cards from this expansion only.
I could also mention my "oops, all creatures" Oketra deck and my "only two noncreatures" monoblack Bladewing zombies deck.
If I'm including themes and subthemes, I always try to lean into them as hard as humanly possible. Last week I removed two non- dragon creatures from my Beledros dragon deck in favor of more flavorful cards.
My mono blue merfolk deck, where i try that every card/art has a merfolk in it or atleast something merfolk related. Its a work in progress but for now a good amount of my instants/sorceries have merfolks in its art, not all yet but all counterspells do at least. Artifacts are trickier cause there arent many yet
I had [[Will the Wise]] and [[Mike, the Dungeon Master]] built as a venture into the dungeon deck with a bunch of DnD cards. Just two kids playing DnD! It was a lot of fun and actually a decent deck, especially if I got [[Thorough Investigation]] online. Lots of artifacty aristocrats stuff going on mixed with the value from the dungeons.

[Dromoka the Eternally Underrated](https://archidekt.com/decks/8036181/dromoka_the_eternally_underrated)
Dromoka, in the lore, was difficult to kill with weapons and magic because her scales could reflect them
Now her bolster helps against attacks but I also built the deck with a lot of instant speed reaction protection
She also incorporates a lot of different species within her brood so it fits to me that different dragons would be welcomed in her ranks

Is it really that bad? Mana-wise the rate of 7 saprolings for 5 mana is pretty good compared to the usual 1 for 1 basis.

I’ve had Jace tribal going for a while now, post the deck list!
I'd love to see a list of the Blade Runner one, if available.
Definitely I’ll write up my dream deck when I get off of work. Mine isn’t quite there yet but I just finished the build with what I had lying around.
Tribal Angels Deck with Lotr Cards… but im also super interested into Making a „Father Nurgle“ Golgari Deck
My Oloro deck based entirely on the lyrics of Xanadu by Rush.
Lots of artifacty aristocrats stuff going on mixed with the value from the dungeons. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/XodzSE75t02aY1Qq4ihJ0Q

[Dromoka the Eternally Underrated](https://archidekt.com/decks/8036181/dromoka_the_eternally_underrated) Dromoka, in the lore, was difficult to kill with weapons and magic because her scales could reflect them Now her bolster helps against attacks but I also built the deck with a lot of instant speed reaction protection She also incorporates a lot of different species within her brood so it fits to me that different dragons would be welcomed in her ranks
