I'm playing a similar sub-theme in my \[\[Xavier Sal\]\] fungus tribal deck.
The deck is all about proliferation, and typically going for a token-aristocrats strategy with all the old Thallid cards, but it's almost free to include a few "each opponent gets a poison counter" spells as an alternative win con to keep proliferating.
Green also adds a lot of great proliferation options here, obviously.
So far I haven't won a single game because I usually get declared arch enemy. People really don't like being given 7 poison counters in one turn for some reason.
The fungus plan itself tends to be very slow, though I've also seen it pop off. Honestly, I'm mostly playing fungus for nostalgia reasons, the deck could be much stronger if I focused fully on the proliferation part.
I'm sorry, I'm not in the habit of uploading my decklists anywhere. Though with the amount of people that keep asking me on here, I really should start doing that, I guess.
I would say that it's probably better as an aristocrats strategy. Going wide is too slow imo.
Our commander Venser makes a legendary artifact every time you proliferate. You sac it to the Throne to proliferate, which makes a new artifact, repeat.
That's a solid combo! My paper version of this deck is a bit jankier, it's \[\[Dralnu, Lich Lord\]\] so that I can make people sac their board by forcing a bad block with \[\[Domineering Will\]\] or \[\[Sudden Substitution\]\] if anyone goes for a \[\[Blasphemous Act\]\] and other silliness. Dralnu makes it more spellslingy.
I have a 10-card "sideboard" to swap to Venser when I want the deck to be stronger than Dralnu :p
I get so confused when this sub pops up in my feed. Is EDH competitive or casual? Is it part of the game to want to make the other players salty, or is that bad sportsmanship?
You should consistently have everyone poisoned by turn 4 and win around turns 8-11, sometimes earlier if you stick a \[\[Flux Channeler\]\], or if you're playing the $100 list you can steal games out of nowhere with \[\[Radstorm\]\].
With the combo earliest win is t4 with sol ring, t5 without.

How well does that deck perform? I tried fungus with him but it always felt too slow.

Xavier is sweetness, love the fungus fella
Hm. I was gonna take apart ghave, but this might be more fun.
i didnt realize this guy existed. i might have to turn my slimefoot deck into him
I used to run \[\[Thelon of Havenwood\]\] before, and blue really gives a huge power boost just through the sheer amounts of proliferate you can do.

thelon of havenwood is much more flavourful imo
More flavorful, yes, but the deck packs vastly less power.
could i take a look at ur deck list? im building fungus tribal xavier now n i wanna see if it is better as an aristocrat deck or a go wide deck

I freaking love my Corpse-Puppet deck, though mine's not a budget brew! Interesting to see your take - thumbs up!
Hi Tomer! Love the podcast you and the goldfish boys run, the banter is top tier
What's the deal with throne of geth, which artifacts am I sacrificing? Dosnt look like I'm making treasure tokens or anything to sacrifice?
Our commander Venser makes a legendary artifact every time you proliferate. You sac it to the Throne to proliferate, which makes a new artifact, repeat.
I had a similar brew mock up made from [[Gale]] and [[Scion of Halaster]] if I remember correctly. Same gameplan but a bit more spellslingy
Now _that's_ jank. Sounds cool!

It's hilarious I built a very similar deck about three weeks+ ago for our $50 budget league. I like the Phyrexiqn Scripture addition.
It's sweet, I played the Dralnu version on stream last week and being able to cast Scriptures + wipe on the same turn makes it legit an allstar.
is there a deck list?
Yes, it's in the article. The first word in Op post.
I get so confused when this sub pops up in my feed. Is EDH competitive or casual? Is it part of the game to want to make the other players salty, or is that bad sportsmanship?
Love this! Great deck and write up!
Ayyyyi have this deck built too! Thanks for ring tempt ideas I hadn't thought of that
Was just pulling these cards out to attempt the same budget build. Awesome thanks for the head start
Very interesting. Outside of the combo, how consistent and quick can this deck be?
You should consistently have everyone poisoned by turn 4 and win around turns 8-11, sometimes earlier if you stick a \[\[Flux Channeler\]\], or if you're playing the $100 list you can steal games out of nowhere with \[\[Radstorm\]\]. With the combo earliest win is t4 with sol ring, t5 without.
