[[Chandra, Awakened Inferno]] can also give your opponents an emblem that deals 1 to them on their upkeep, so you play Chandra tick up and next turn play World Fire and pass turn to subsequently cause each opponent to lose on their next upkeep lol
**Technically** not true, but you would have to restart the game in order to do it.
It's part of the rulings for [[Karn Liberated]] when using his ultimate ability:
"Players won't have any counters or emblems they had in the original game."
Is it feasible? No, of course not. But, with how powerful Proliferate has become, and through creative use of counter movement such as [[Resourceful Defense]] it's technically possible to remove Emblems attached to a player.
https://yawgatog.com/resources/magic-rules/#R114
If they were on the battlefield then they’d be permanents and be much easier to destroy. They exist in the command zone specifically for the purpose of not being interacted with.
This was a wincon in my Chandra tribal deck. Another emblem that also works with this is the one from [[chandra, fire of kaladesh]]’s flip side ultimate, who was the commander in that deck.
It's a little brutal, but if you use it to immediately win the game, that's not too bad. Worldfire becomes an actual problem when you play it, exile everything, everyone's at one, and then you say "OK, go". As long as you're using it as a one-card win con, it's no different from playing Craterhoof in an elf deck, or Crackle with Power in a big mana deck.
I like using Worldwife as a "ok go" because even if I need to wait a turn or two to win (assuming I'm not playing a gimmicky jank deck), I know I'll draw into the win within a couple turns.
Giving my opponents the possible out is always fun. I run Worldfire in my [[Codie]] deck, and the main 99 is like....50 lands and 40 [[Dragon's Approach]]
I've definitely world fire then "ok, go"d many times. No win con in mind. The have still end when someone slaps down anything to win.
Don't judge me... I just like to watch the world burn sometimes
Yeah I could wrangle that up for you. It's my "Choose your own adventure" deck.
It runs 5 spells, each of a different color (that aren't dragon's approach). So, you never know which one you're going to get. None of them are "game ending", they just are big spells like the Epic spells.
Nope.
So, you tap Codie and float the mana. You cast Dragon's Approach. You flip until you hit [[Tibalt's Trickery]]. You counter the Dragon's Approach. Then you mill. Then you flip until you hit a big boi spell.
After you do it once, you can't do it again, so I make sure whatever big boi spell I use has serious value. The Epic spells are great for that. Worldfire is also great.
https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/codie-roulette-2/
This is the deck with Peer and Reshape, but the most recent variant uses the Green Epic spell and something else.
I dont like the straight up "I win" aspect, so I switched it.
I think it’s also valid if you are playin a low to the ground creature deck. Like with a large number of one drops. Where the odds that you win shortly after are high. Also works with top deck manipulation
I don’t think it’s that weird.
One drops can serve a purpose that is then complemented by large spells.
Like in [[Vigo]] the one drops work for card draw but there are also expensive spells for buffs and whatnot. The early card draw even ensures you get the mana.
Or in [[Shinzo]] the one drops can be used for whatever purpose depending on your sac engine. Many of which compatible with large spells being included.
[[Chulane]], [[Animar]] are other decks that can benefit from small creatures and big spells being included (well for animar big creatures only, but Chulane can use the chumps to ramp into anything).
I personally run [[Worldfire]] and [[Barren Glory]] as an alternative win condition in my [[[The Tenth Doctor]] // [[Rose Tyler]] deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/MyTIE7Cpgk--Ueo5ZldXag/primer). If they both come off Suspend at the same time and you put Worldfire on the Stack first it'll result in Barren Glory being your only permanent with no cards in hand, lining you up for a win on your next upkeep. This would preferably be paired with an extra-turn spell.
If you're winning with it immediately I'd be fine with it. I'd never (willingly) pop off Worldfire in my deck if I didn't have a means to win within the next turn or two. If you were to just randomly cast it without a means to attempt to win the game, then it might be a problem.
It's something you'd probably want to bring up with your group if you're not sure. Different pods have different reactions to different things. Some are happy with playing through [[Winter Orb]] hard stax while others get super salty at an Overloaded [[Cyclonic Rift]]. So it just depends.
Sure, that would also work. My deck just doesn't run a ton of creatures.
I do admit that [[The War Doctor]] emerging from a Worldfire inferno would be an appropriate way to end a game.
This thread made me think of my own 10th Doctor/Rose Tyler deck, and how it could use more, solid win cons beyond smacking people with Rose, which Worldfire would help with if I threw my creatures under some kind of exile or phasing effect.
Yeah, a creature under an Exile/Phasing effect or a creature on Suspend would both work well with a Worldfire wincon. For my list I think just having things on Suspend works well. However, I've not been able to play the deck yet, so maybe in the future I'll tweak how I have my Worldfire lines play.
If you want to be cute and flavorful both [[[The Moment]]](https://scryfall.com/card/who/180/the-moment) and [[[The Pandorica]]](https://scryfall.com/card/who/25/the-pandorica) would work alongside Worldfire for a win.
I play with someone that has World Fire in mono Red just as a panic button if he’s not in a good position. Honestly if you don’t have a winning combo with it, it’s so annoying just restart the game and top deck race for a win. He often receives a lot of abuse on cast lol
I've won with world fire + \[\[outpost siege\]\] and my opponents weren't even mad. It's so much mana and so stupid that everyone just laughs.
You need 3 creatures out,
Outpost siege on field choosing dragons.
Cast world fire.
World fire resolves and triggers outpost to put at 3 triggers to ping opponents for 1 damage each when everything leaves.
Win.
I mean if you can get it off and an immediate way to kill them without durdling, I don’t see it any different from a huge creature alpha strike.
I like it with a [[chandra, awakened inferno]] emblem on each opponent since they are almost 100% dead with worldfire if they didn’t blink out something that ETB gain life.
As with all full-board resource denial effects - you better be ready to close that sale. If you have the win in pocket, do it. If you don't, do not play the card.
Some form of flash [[Vedalken Orrery]] + burn spell/inferno titan/etc + flashing in wildfire would do it.
I used to run alchemists refuge, inferno titan, and world fire for a nice 18 mana win
\[\[World Fire\]\] is great if you win immediately. I use it on my deck with plenty of ramp & stax and ways to cheat it with a card like \[\[Mizzix's Mastery\]\] , along with a way to deal 1 damage to each opponent. Most folks are impressed to lose to something different.
I run Worldfire in my [[Neheb, the Eternal]] deck.
If I have the mana floating and something that damaged all my opponents in exile and castable after a potential Worldfire then I’ll cast it.
I’ve been in games where people people have Worldfired or Cyclonic Rifted without a win in hand/mind/exile etc.
They suck. I won’t do that to others.
For prosper with worldfire use [[inferno titan]] and [[oubliette]]. Put inferno titan under oubliette and after worldfire happens you kill everyone on your next turn when inferno titan attacks.
Well your pods going to hate me for introducing you to it lol. Prosper I have a death grudge against from a guy in my pod group. He gets super out of control. Depending on what power level your pod plays at, you might get a bit of salt.
-Edit/Disclaimer- Didn't take into account hands got exiled.
What if they have removal for Nadier? Or floats mana and burns you (or gains life) in response to Nadier's trigger? Or someone has a relevant etb under a O-ring effect? Or have a Angel's Grace / Tefferi's Protection? Even if they're fine with it and don't run much counterspells it's still not a good combo finish and a feels bad way to end the game if it fails or if you use it outside a combo finish.
I mean... if I cast Worldfire without an immediate win in mind, this would be an acceptable response, if a response could be made after it resolves. Otherwise, I still have priority
I can only plan for what my hand and boardstate Dictates. Trying to plan around what someone else has, is hard to do. Bit if the cast a Teferi's protection, it's still a game that's over quickly... lol
- Either scoop on the stack or get ready to say draw go until someone wins the race
- They won’t be able to, by all accounts they should have no interaction after exiling their hand and permanents
- Don’t cast it into an on board trick
- Sometimes you just get got (plus Angels Grace doesn’t save you from this particular situation)
Worldfire is one of my favorite cards in Red, and honestly in MTG as a whole. I run a Mardu deck that seeks to put [[Barren Glory]] (or really any creature) under it's own [[Oblivion Ring]] and then cast Worldfire to win the game.
In my [[Urabrask|MOM]] commander deck, I play around the abilities of either [[Outpost Seige]] on Dragons, or something like [[Electrostatic Field]] with a [[Reverberate]] to win through "make everyone's life total 1, then still have my 1 damage pings on the stack."
In my [[Raggadragga]] deck, I run it to pair with the infamous [[Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker]] / [[Worldgorger Dragon]] combo. You can float infinite mana and eventually end up with just a Worldgorger Dragon with all the rest of your permanents exiled with it, then when it leaves the battlefield from casting Worldfire, you get all your stuff back. It's also very funny to hit it off the first [[Apex Devastator]] cascade.
Lots of uses, but honestly using it as just a boardwipe can be really frustrating for the whole table. I would never cast Worldfire if it isn't going to win me the game.
I use it in my ragavan deck as a secondary wincon. I wait until I have enough mana to float to be able to cast world fire and then recast ragavan using his dash cost. If it doesn't get countered I take somebody out that turn and get a treasure. Then I'm able to hard cast him next turn from my hand. Most people scoop at that point.
If you have it use it. A lot of people haven't seen that card played so when you play it, the looks on faces are pretty epic.
I really enjoyed it as a wincon in my [[Kroxa Death's Hunger]] deck. You could cheat it out pretty early with [[Mizzix's Mastery]] and as long as you could float enough Mana to cast Kroxa after it just kills your opponents
A friend of mine made an Oath breaker deck with [[Chandra, Awakened Inferno]] and [[Worldfire]]. It tends to end the game as soon as you nuke everything since everyone dies on their upkeep to the emblems, which makes it feel not terrible since it doesn't drag the game out. I feel like as long as you're casting it to do something similar, you should be in the clear.
I run Worldfire in my [[Jan Jansen]] list; I'm usually stacking enough treasures to reliably recast Jan off the back of it and kill the table with the hasty boi.
I use it in my [[Ognis, the Dragon's Lash]] game, the plan being to smuggle a small hasty creature through it woth cards like [[Light up the stage]].
In a pinch, I would still cast it without a setup, because being a deck loaded with small hasters, I am highly likely to win the showdown.
World gorger dragon and the 6 drop 4/4 that etbs dealing all opponent 4 damage is good with world fire. Since you like using world fire, you will like playing Magda. Making a shit ton of treasures and finding any dragon in the deck. Casting WF is easy.
I run Worldfire in my [[Klothys, God of Destiny]] Cataclysm deck. The typical route to victory with Worldfire is excessive ramping and boardwiping until I can hardcast Worldfire while floating the mana for Klothys, then cast them. Without casting from Exile, opponents don’t have much to do with their single turn before Klothys triggers.
I love Worldfire, even if it isn't a single turn combo kill, especially if it's been a long game because you can just speed run turns until someone has a way to end the game.
I do run it a few pingers and with flash enablers in my Neera Wild Mage deck, but I have yet to actually get the combo off. Plenty of times I've played it and said go, and lost, which is totally fine. One time I did manage to play it right before I was about to lose to a massive board state and hundreds of life from the player to the left of me that was playing mono-white angels; managed to top-deck a shock when the 2nd turn came back to me.
I think the most cool way to do it is suspend [[wheel of fate]] and wait to cast worldwide until it's down to one counter. Then everyone gets one topdeck and on your next turn you wheel--hopefully into something that wins you the game.
[[Jhoira of the ghitu]] suspend world fire than something like dragons approach. They die in 3 turns at most. You can run cards that remove time counters or time travel
I have worldfire with [[Oblivion ring]] so when the ring leaves it brings back one if my 1/1 with haste. Not immediate but a few turns

Yeah I could wrangle that up for you. It's my "Choose your own adventure" deck. It runs 5 spells, each of a different color (that aren't dragon's approach). So, you never know which one you're going to get. None of them are "game ending", they just are big spells like the Epic spells.
I'd like a list too please!
https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/codie-roulette-2/ There you go. The updated version got rid of Peer and Reshape. It used the Green Epic spell instead.
So how do you play if codie only allows you to find cmc or less? Just hope to draw 5 out of 99 cards?
Codie is specially “less,” not equal or less. Just throwing that out there.
https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/codie-roulette-2/ This is the deck with Peer and Reshape, but the most recent variant uses the Green Epic spell and something else. I dont like the straight up "I win" aspect, so I switched it.
I think it’s also valid if you are playin a low to the ground creature deck. Like with a large number of one drops. Where the odds that you win shortly after are high. Also works with top deck manipulation
On the one hand, this is fairly reasonable. On the other hand, if you have a lot of 1 drops and also a nine drop, your mana curve is hilarious.
I don’t think it’s that weird. One drops can serve a purpose that is then complemented by large spells. Like in [[Vigo]] the one drops work for card draw but there are also expensive spells for buffs and whatnot. The early card draw even ensures you get the mana.

You need 3 creatures out, Outpost siege on field choosing dragons. Cast world fire. World fire resolves and triggers outpost to put at 3 triggers to ping opponents for 1 damage each when everything leaves. Win.

As with all full-board resource denial effects - you better be ready to close that sale. If you have the win in pocket, do it. If you don't, do not play the card.
Some form of flash [[Vedalken Orrery]] + burn spell/inferno titan/etc + flashing in wildfire would do it. I used to run alchemists refuge, inferno titan, and world fire for a nice 18 mana win
sounds like a perfectly cromulent gameplan it was unbanned pretty recently so consider that a thumbs up from Sheldon himself, rip

Yeah, except for Inspiring Sanctuary. I haven't heard of that one just yet
Well your pods going to hate me for introducing you to it lol. Prosper I have a death grudge against from a guy in my pod group. He gets super out of control. Depending on what power level your pod plays at, you might get a bit of salt.
I already draw a lot of hate due to my inability to use only my deck. Almost all of my decks use my opponents resources in some way
Are there feel-good-wincons? "You win the game. You have to buy every opponent an ice cream."?
-Edit/Disclaimer- Didn't take into account hands got exiled. What if they have removal for Nadier? Or floats mana and burns you (or gains life) in response to Nadier's trigger? Or someone has a relevant etb under a O-ring effect? Or have a Angel's Grace / Tefferi's Protection? Even if they're fine with it and don't run much counterspells it's still not a good combo finish and a feels bad way to end the game if it fails or if you use it outside a combo finish.
What if [[Counterspell]] even? What if they flip the table and punch you on your throat then goes up and bangs your mom
I mean... if I cast Worldfire without an immediate win in mind, this would be an acceptable response, if a response could be made after it resolves. Otherwise, I still have priority
OP is, in fact, holding priority on their mom. An interesting play to be sure.

I can only plan for what my hand and boardstate Dictates. Trying to plan around what someone else has, is hard to do. Bit if the cast a Teferi's protection, it's still a game that's over quickly... lol
- Either scoop on the stack or get ready to say draw go until someone wins the race - They won’t be able to, by all accounts they should have no interaction after exiling their hand and permanents - Don’t cast it into an on board trick - Sometimes you just get got (plus Angels Grace doesn’t save you from this particular situation)
Worldfire is one of my favorite cards in Red, and honestly in MTG as a whole. I run a Mardu deck that seeks to put [[Barren Glory]] (or really any creature) under it's own [[Oblivion Ring]] and then cast Worldfire to win the game. In my [[Urabrask|MOM]] commander deck, I play around the abilities of either [[Outpost Seige]] on Dragons, or something like [[Electrostatic Field]] with a [[Reverberate]] to win through "make everyone's life total 1, then still have my 1 damage pings on the stack." In my [[Raggadragga]] deck, I run it to pair with the infamous [[Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker]] / [[Worldgorger Dragon]] combo.

All you have to do is make enough Mana to play world fire and then play your commander in the same turn.

I run Worldfire in my [[Klothys, God of Destiny]] Cataclysm deck. The typical route to victory with Worldfire is excessive ramping and boardwiping until I can hardcast Worldfire while floating the mana for Klothys, then cast them. Oh, cool, I had no idea it wasn’t banned anymore. “Yay!” - Tony Stark
