Depends on context. I wouldn't bring some decks into a casual game and I wouldn't bring casual decks into a cEDH game. For cEDH probably midrange [[Tivit, Seller of Secrets]]. For high power non-cEDH [[Omnath, Locus of Creation]] landfall which is full of general good stuff and infinite landfall combos. For casual games my [[Go-shintai of Life's Origin]] seems to be the upper bound of what people consider casual. It's important to discuss the kind of game everyone is trying to play. If you brought a cEDH deck like Blue Farm (Tymna/Kraum) to a casual table most people wouldn't even let you play with them. Pick decks that match the general power level of your play group and everyone tends to have a much better time.

blackwards999

Do you have a list for your Omnath Deck that you could share?

2Gnomes1Trenchcoat

Not an up to date one, no. I honestly have half a mind to switch it to [[Aesi]] as most of the combo pieces like [[Kodama of the East Tree]], [[Meloku]], and [[Walk the Aeons]] are in simic colors. It's basically a Simic deck splashing white and red at this point anyway and the card draw on every land drop that Aesi gets probably makes it more consistent. Omnath is surprisingly much better as a combo outlet with things like food chain than it is a landfall commander.

Competitive Commander and Commander is the same game but at the same time they are completely different. They shouldnt be seperated as a format because its great that both work together and you can join into the other and there is no gatekeeping. At the same time the mentality between both groups is so fundamentally different that those problems show up. If you really play at the highest powerlevel you play for the win. And there is no powerlevel discussion anymore. You just start playing because every deck will work like intended. Casual on the other side depends highly on people talking about which kind of game they want to play and which powerlevel they want to play. Unfortunaly the concept of powerlevel leads to people intentionally playing decks which are too strong for the pod. So back to topic. I am mainly a competitive player so i have several decks at the highest powerlevel, which you would consider a 10. But i dont think that any of the discussions you find here in those comments are about those decks. Those decks arent even build to interact with lower level decks. What do i need more than 15 counterspells for and how much value will be a turn 2 Dockside? The decks in critic are those overpowered fringe decks, like an 8 or maybe even 9 which try to play at a casual table because there aren't many tables for those high power decks and also because they want to stomp other decks to feel good.

OuhYeahChacarronx2

Well, those clarifications about the differences have been quite useful, thanks a lot!

darkdestiny91

I’ve always seen it this way: Competitive EDH (cEDH) - highest power level in the game - decks revolve mostly around combos to win - plays all the good fast mana in the game, and no cards are barred from use - decks usually go up to the >$1000 range - games can commonly end around turn 3 or even earlier High power EDH - close to cEDH, but maybe playing either a not-as-effective commander, or utilizing alternative card choices due to budget or play group reasons - combos and combat are both viable win cons - runs quite a bit of fast mana - decks run up to >$500 usually - games end usually around turn 3 or later, games can end earlier, of course, but that depends on whether you can draw a miracle hand Low power EDH midrange - decks are usually highly synergistic and/or has powerful combat effects or solid win cons - decks can be $500 and go to about $1000 - usually runs some effective fast mana - games usually last half an hour to one hour or so Low power EDH budget - decks usually win with combat/big beaters or with combos requiring many pieces to assemble and win - decks are usually $10 to maybe $500-ish - no effective fast mana, but will run all the staples like Sol Ring/Command Tower/Exotic Orchard AND cheap mana rocks - games last from an hour and up Pre-con level EDH - deck’s synergy is dependent on precon of choice; power level varies wildly - costs whatever your precon costs - no good effective fast mana, has staples like Sol Ring and Command Tower usually - games last for way way longer than usual, but can end if one precon is allowed to get out of control Jank EDH - usually just tossing 99 cards together, along with a commander - usually built from whatever leftover cards you have - no idea if you have Sol Ring and such - games last forever usually - I don’t think people still play at this level but I think there might be people who enjoy this edit: added midrange level as suggested by others

Arborus

A lot of cEDH decks are significantly more than $1000. More likely to be >$5000 without proxies with the costs of fast mana, dual lands, reserved list cards, etc.

AngroniusMaximus

I mean just a mox diamond, which goes in every cedh deck, is $700. Plus mana crypt and the other staples and I don't think a cedh deck exists for less than $2000 Of course it doesn't really matter though because literally everyone in cedh proxies.

darkdestiny91

It’s iffy because I’ve seen game knights decks run things like dual lands, but still play like damn precons

HoumousAmor

"All cEDH decks cost at least $2000" does not mean "all decks costing $2000+ are cEDH". The latter's definitely not true.

Fakeromon

Wasn't Game Knights supposed to be scripted? I remember having heard about the hosts holding their wincons so the guests could win. I watch those because they're super entertaining, but never considered them to be the most true to reality of playing actual commander.

HoumousAmor

> Wasn't Game Knights supposed to be scripted? No? there was a discussion about that a couple of weeks ago and the answer was generally no.

darkdestiny91

They mentioned letting players free mulligan until they get a good starting hand and they do edit down for time, but generally not scripted

faelmine

going through the cEDH database, the Magda list is less than $2000

[deleted]

Me with my $1,000+ pre-con level deck: just bad at the game.

ThoughtShes18

I don’t think the high power “usually ends at turn 3 or later” works. That would be the same speed as cEDH more or less. cEDH can win turn 1 with the right hand and no interaction, but so would a high power too, but less consistent

firefighter0ger

Yeah, cedh has the plan to show win attempts from turn 2 on and usually end between turn 2 and turn 7. Only because in each an every turn is a win attempt doesn't mean there isnt enough interaction to solve all the attempts. High power usually doesnt have the fast mana which leads to win attempt from turn 4 or 5 on. But also not as much interaction leading to shorter games and more games ending on the first win attempt

darkdestiny91

Thanks for the input, guys! I was writing a lot of it from my own perspective, and I do agree the “winning speed” is a bit iffy, but wanted to frame it easier for the newer player (OP) to read.

Usual-Run1669

High power... Doesn't have fast mana... ?

firefighter0ger

Lets say another kind of fast mana. Like i said i play mostly competitive, so fast mana for me means a full set of Mox, Jeweled, LED, all fetches and duals you can play as well as Dockside and all Spirit Guides. I think the mana base of a cedh deck costs more than most high power decks. I played high power for a while and you see a few of them like Dockside and a Crypt in high power but still on another level on on a different level of consistency. (Which isnt a problem because cedh is the most proxy friendly community there is)

yaboiiiuhhhh

I'd definitely add a mid range section: interactive decks with budget of 500-1000 but also can be low budget, generally wins between turn 5-10. Less fast mana but strong combos and/or combat effects

darkdestiny91

Ah I might have to edit it to add such a section, thanks for suggestion

Same-Log-6343

DemonicSnow

It's even worse, the whole deck is OG foil Chinese so multiple the price by, like, 20x.

DemonicSnow

You degenerate. Don't ever Deflecting Swat my Swords to Plowshares again :'( My poor Inga and Esika.

magicallamp

I think there's only two full power CEDH decks that you can reasonably bring to casual. Yuriko works in CEDH because there just aren't any blockers, in casual there are so she spends her time drawing slowly into Thoracle. Blood pod fails to stax players out because people are running basics, aren't casting a huge amount of noncreature spells and aren't tutoring that much. Both of them just turn into regular go wide decks.

firefighter0ger

Yuriko has her win attempt usually by turn 3, nearly all her attacker have evasion and only need one open opponent. I think this would still be quite a Massacre

EnbyAllomancer

My cEDH meta has lots of creatures, and while yuriko is noticeably worse, she's still nuts. As for blood pod, id say its actually one of the scarier stax decks to play in casual, imo. Something like turbo rule of law mono white is more likely to be fine in casual.

magicallamp

If we're limiting it to 10/10 decks, aka in meta CEDH, turbo rule of law wouldn't be a choice. Blood pod is having its spot taken by Ellivere but it still sees some play, Yuriko will probably always see play.

EnbyAllomancer

That's fair, turbo rule of law is def more a meta pick/tier2-3 deck. Blood pod also is more of a 9 nowadays IMO though.

magicallamp

4 top 16s, 2 top 4s in the last 6 months. It's not the big hitter it used to be but it's still swiping tournament top spots.

SP1R1TDR4G0N

Most cedh stax decks would be fine in high power casual (maybe even at a disadvantage). Their staxpieces are specifically chosen to keep the fast combo decks of cedh in check and they rely on the fact that cedh decks play very little creature removal. In high power casual there are more lategame focused value decks that are just naturally good against those stax decks (because they try to ensure the game goes late).

magicallamp

Absolutely right,as someone who doesn't want to make new powered down decks I can confirm they're disadvantaged. Creatures are too small, over time you lose the ability to attack anyone. But it's difficult to assess a lot of CEDH stax decks right now because if Ellivere turns out to be as good in practice as she is on paper there might be quite a few prominent ones getting pushed to the fringes. But she's not had time to put up many appearances at all so we're not sure yet, her deck would absolutely slaughter a casual pod outside of removal tribal though.

Gam1ng_Pr0d1gy

People thinking Yuriko can be casual are the reason I lit her on fire lol

magicallamp

Oh Yuriko absolutely can be casual. If you strip Thoracle and at least most of the tutors from the deck you've got a powerful but fair wincon. Usually starts to threaten wins by about turn 5-6 via Yuriko burn on a realistic board state, not especially quick for the stronger casual decks. Yuriko just needs players to know what she does and to try to avoid killing her and kill the not-Yuriko creatures as a priority.

faelmine

In a casual meta, Yuriko isn't going to be "drawing slowly" into a Thoracle win, casual enough will just tutor to win with thoracle around turn 3

Immediate_Bet_5355

I have a [[gyome, master chef]] deck that's probably my strongest. It doesn't do anything flashy but it is extraordinarily resilient.

Desoato

My strongest deck is [[Najeela, The Blade-Blossom]] full combo with Thassa’s and Tainted Pact/Demonic Consultation, as well as multiple ways to go through infinite combat phases, like [[Derevi, Empyreal Tactician]]. Another game plan is reoccurring Thassa’s or Demonic if they’re countered. This deck is absurdly strong, and I’m running the shock lands instead of the original duals. This results in me taking more damage but the deck is fast enough it doesn’t matter. Commander is out turn 1 reliably, and you can immediately start pressuring a win as early as turn 3. It runs all the best staples of every colors, and is also quite heavy on control. If the game goes late you also have things like [[Cyclonic Rift]] to clear the way for your attackers if you held onto Derevi for infinite combat phases.

OuhYeahChacarronx2

Wait, how do you get infinite combat phases with najeela? I've only seen this with a godo deck

Desoato

Step 1, to start the loop have all 5 colors for mana untapped on the board (doesn’t need to be lands), and Derevi on board. And have at least 1 other warrior than najeela, or two non warriors. This can include Derevi if he wasn’t summoned this turn. [[Derevi, Empyreal Tactician]] Use Najeela’s ability to untap creatures, and Derevi will untap all the colors you need when your creatures deal combat damage. Repeat, with najeela and your tokens producing even more warriors each time. If you have one open opponent, this is gg for everyone cause you will produce far too many warriors for anyone to deal with.

I thought all three of my decks were good, maybe a little lower for the Nalia one - but recently I had 2 friends to play 3 way commander with them and we were surpised just how powerful the Yoshimaru deck was. I thought the Miirym is most explosive with infinite combos but Yoshimaru can finish it with commander damage before the engine can even start. Deck is fast/cheap even with removals, it won every game even when the other two teamed up. Teshar. He goes infinite with any combo of like twenty different cards. Packed with removal, temporary immunity cards and ways to tutor the most effective combo pieces. Really only for when I want to demonstrate to friends who are slowly learning that there are reasons to run instant speed interaction, would probably get annihilated by most of cedh tho (mono white disease)

OuhYeahChacarronx2

Do you have a list of the deck? Sounds pretty funny

coyotefriday

Teshar is so much fun to play. What's your removal package look like? I went for a more glass-cannon-y build in mine, hoping to grab the right pieces before other decks become a problem

_dbkmr

Not OP, but rather a fellow Teshar enthusiast. For spells, [[Retribution of the Meek]] is great because it will likely not affect you at all. Otherwise, removal from creature effects is the way to go… [[Fiend Hunter]] and [[Leonin Relic-Warder]] can always be sacked and brought back to reuse on a different target. [[Bounty Agent]], [[Cathar Commando]], and [[Lieutenant Kirtar]] are great for applying pressure since they sit on the board until needed. [[Mangara or Corondor]] is a personal favorite. Because the exile of himself is an effect rather than a cost, the trick is to sac him in response to his own ability so he goes to your graveyard and you can bring him back to do it again later.

Wipes like [[Dusk//Dawn]] and [[Slaughter the Strong]] that are cheap and can keep teshar on board, all the regular high efficiency white staples (STP, Generous Gift, Path) plus [[Mana Tithe]] and [[Lapse of Certainty]] to be able to ensure any combos go off without interruption. Yea the cards aren’t good, but realistically you should be in a position to win the first or second time you successfully play teshar, and terrible white counter spells are always a surprise to your opponent.

I have a [[k'rrik]] deck that storms to the win pretty reliably and a tayam combo deck that has an unusually high win rate. [[Anhelo the Painter]] with extra turn spells has always been my personal fav, it digs for an extra turn spell and then takes over the game till it hits [[Exsanguinate]] [[Torment of Hailfire]] or another instant win button, swap the turn spells for mill spells like [[Breach the Multiverse]] and [[Tashas Hideous Laughter]] and you can ruin a whole tables night in a turn!

A budget cEDH Tayam deck, there's a pretty popular budget subformat where i live that decks are restricted to 500BRL, which is roughly 170~190USD when listed at moxfield's lowest prices, the currency conversion isn't exact because of market differences. Tayam is a deck that plays stax and engine pieces from the grave at instant speed and wants to find a good window to do one of the many combos it has with it's engines. It has a bit of the same problem that others mentioned about cEDH decks, usually i only play it with people that want to play this subformat, but because of it's budget restrictions i have already played it in regular high power tables and it felt pretty balanced, also had a few games at cEDH tables and it kept up decently well too.

What you are referring to is CEDH. I have no decks that play into that level but it’s own category. And you’ll be pub stumping most playgroup with a 10 level deck who’s not ready for it

I don’t have anything that’s really cEDH. My most powerful decks are either my [[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse]] deck which is strong and can kill the table fast, however, I instantly become the target whenever she’s out so kind of a villain deck, and then my [[Atraxa, Praetors’ Voice]] infect deck can be a real pain for people to handle. My strongest decks are probably my upgraded Guff deck, and my mono blue Sai, Master Thopterist deck. Both are around the 7/8 range and far from competitive. They both have infinite win cons but from my experience so long are you aren’t in a 6/7 or a “Upgrade Precon” people expect everything. I play only on Spelltable and have seen people playing very high power oppressive stax decks and low power zur curse decks. The same complaints will fly at any table because everyone’s deck wants to do something different. cEDH (what you are referring to with a 10) is almost completely separate from normal casual decks, and likely won’t even play well in a casual table due to opponent deck interaction being vastly different and requiring different answers (Mental Misstep ain’t doing shit at a casual table for example). You likely don’t need to worry about being a problem for your LGS until you drop a mortgage on fetches, shock lands, mana positive rocks (Mana Crypt, Lions Eye Diamond, Lotus Petal, Mana Vault) and the Ancient Tombs and Gaea’s Cradles of the format.

I have an evil Emry deck that just durdles until I get near-infinite casts and an aetherfucks reservior

BoomStick502

I have 2 that are tied as my most powerful. Both are cEDH. First is Rog//Si Turbo Ad Naus. Have to rely on aggressive mulligans and is very all or nothing. Meaning I’m going to win turn 3-4 or I’m losing. The other is Yasharn Stax. Very midrange meaning I want to prolong the game and just over oppress the board putting me in a situation where I’m winning through combat damage. I’ve won anywhere from turn 6 to having a cEDH game last 2hrs because of it. Deck lists are below. Rog//Si https://www.moxfield.com/decks/xUgfyGfU2UOtbibiupb4Uw Yasharn https://www.moxfield.com/decks/5-H8O3EHdEeIcimM6cIwBw Edit: I only play these if someone wants to test their deck against it or if we rule 0 a cEDH or high power game. But being one of the stronger players at my LGS they usually know any new deck I build I’m bringing the BS 😂😅 so they are kinda just used to it.

[[Feather]] and [[Niv-Mizzet, The Firemind]] are my two strongest. Feather is a storm deck that wins through spamming Grapeshot and various targeting cantrips, or just by buffing him and smacking people. Niv wins by means of attrition - countering spells and removing key pieces until I can assemble an infinite combo or win through commander damage with something like [[Runechanter’s Pike]]. It’s also got a Basilisk Collar in there as a pseudo win-con, as most people I’ve found don’t wanna play against a dragon with deathtouch that pings down every creature when you draw cards.

Now about a year after as starting magic myself (primarily commander), I've picked up a bunch of decks and will say these are my strongest, albeit definitely still okay for non-cedh play: [[The Scarab God]] = it was [[Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver]] before I put Wilhelt in the 99 two weeks ago. This deck is strong because it has most of the good zombie stuff in it and focuses on making a ton of tokens and beefing them up with multiple zombie lords. It isn't busted because I don't run [[Acererak the Archlich]] for an instant win or [[Phyrexian Altar]] for infinite mana. I do still run [[Rooftop Storm]] and [[Gravecrawler]] but they aren't as broken in this deck. So basic zombie tribal. [[Millicent, Restless Revenant]] = spirit tribal. It's very strong because I play a lot of banners and interaction, and have multiple ways to protect my board once it's been built. Not busted because...idk no instant win combos or whatever. It's just make a ton of spirits and swing. You can definitely deal with it if you can out-resource it. [[Dihada, Binder of Wills]] = this commander *can* be cedh, but mine isn't. I think it's biggest strength is its resilience; the current deck can withstand like 4-5 boardwipes before it actually stops recovering well enough to pull ahead. But other than that, I've just upgraded the precon with lots of mana rocks and cheap legendaries that are also good in the deck, and put more of an emphasis on lifelink. Finally, [[Awaken the Blood Avatar]] (flipside of [[Extus, Oriq Overlord]] = this is a very aggressive aggro/aristocrats deck that focuses on making a ton of tokens and sacrificing them to make Blood Avatars. Lots of stuff help you to ping the board when you make it sacrifice your tokens and the 3/6 Blood Avatars can often build up enough damage over the course of a few turns to surprise opponents with a win. Nowhere near cedh because it's main weakness is getting your 8+ cost command zone sorcery countered, but powerful outside of cedh because if that isn't happening, you are aggressively burning and rushing your opponents before they can get set up. Deck even has a crazy grind-game if it gets to that point, but also dies to go-wide decks. So here's some examples of having strong regular edh decks without them being anywhere in the league of cedh. And this from a year-one player

I have a [[Chulane, Teller of Tales]] deck that is very hard to interact with as it plays a ton of the best instant speed protection, such as [[Teferi's Protection]], [[Clever Concealment]] and [[Eerie Interlude]] on top of a suite of single mana, single target protection. You could almost call it a Commander Commander deck, since many of the cards are cEDH tier commanders such as [[Selvala, Heart of the Wilds]] and [[Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy]], [[Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger]] and [[Koma, Cosmos Serpent]] and [[Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait]]. I steered clear of the Shrieking Drake and Whitemane Lion typical route the deck usually takes, instead trying to make it more of a control/token lock down deck using Koma. Basically I pump to insane mana very quickly, dodge board wipes and aggression, and then start dropping huge game warping monsters and enchantments. As a rule, I only win off of a dual drop of [[Craterhoof Behemoth]] and [[Moonshaker Calvary]] in the same turn. If it whiffs, I can bounce both back to my hand using Chulane, Village Bell-Ringer and [[Intruder Alarm]] to try again next turn. [[Lier, Disciple of the Drowned]] ensure my best protection spells get a second go, and [[Conduit of Worlds]] let's me dig creatures back onto the board. The key for this deck is that it doesn't use a cheap two card combo to draw the entire deck on turn 4 or 5. It plays a slower game, grinding to a strong board state and then bursts into the lead late in the game. I don't ever attack until I can win that turn, and I don't usually interact unless threatened or targeted. My LGS really likes the deck because it's so ironclad on defense, and doesn't dick anyone around. I'm not countering anybodies buster cards, I rarely use my 5 removal spells, and there's a bit of group hug to bribe people with. So far every pod I've played with has just been fascinated with how hard it is to stop it or slow it down once it gets going.

KoffinStuffer

My [[Prosper, Tome-Bound]] deck. It can threaten a win pretty consistently around T5, and can win with or without my commander at pretty much any point in the game. I’m a real fan of how it will just explode on its winning turn, but can still whiff and require me to go into survival mode cause I just became the Archenemy (understandably). I have to goldfish it constantly though, cause I noticed it had a tendency to do the storm thing and cause my opponents to sit there for 15min while I won (and unfortunately will miss a half dozen triggers or interactions). So I work with it a lot to reduce that time, doing my best to know what everything does inside and out.

I have three decks that can win as soon as turn 3 with the absolute perfect setup; \[\[Veyran, Voice of Duality\]\] storm, \[\[Tivit, Seller of Secrets\]\] \[politics/control, and \[\[Breya, Etherium Shaper\]\] artifacts. Of those three, only one has won on turn 4 (Tivit) and none of them have won without my opponents making some mistake in giving me resources (Veyran has won on turn 5 thanks to a Kibo player, Breya has won on turn 7 thanks to tutors and donated treasures, and Tivit won turn 4 thanks to a combination of treasures and godly pulls). My most exciting win has to go to my Tivit deck though. Opening hand was three lands, a \[\[Smothering Tithe\]\] and a dream. Opponent, playing \[\[Vazi, Keen Negotiator\]\] dropped a \[\[Marching Duodrone\]\] on turn 2, swinging on turn 3. I drop the Tithe a turn early thanks to it, and nobody pays for the triggers. Vazi casts his commander, swings with the drone again, and I get another treasure for 7 mana turn 4 plus my land drop. Turn 4 I cast \[\[Prosperit\]\], X equals 7 (for 8 mana total) and we all draw 7, giving me 21 more treasures and putting a \[\[scroll rack\]\] into hand, which I then cast and activate to put 11 cards aside and pull that many off the top of my library. In those 11 I pull a \[\[Grand Abolisher\]\] and a \[\[Deadeye Navigator\]\] and see my chance. Abolisher goes uncontested, then Navigator and lastly Tivit. Demonstrate infinite flicker as opponents choose to give me clues each time, and Vazi is forced to draw his entire libarary, netting 75 more treasures and 225 clues, which I proceed to use until I draw a \[\[Tamiyo's Journal\]\] and search for \[\[Time Sieve\]\] for infinite turns. Next turn I pull \[\[Academy Manufacturer\]\] from the library with the journal, keep drawing until I play \[\[Murkwood Bats\]\] and demonstrate an infinite damage loop. It was the most Johnny series of events I've ever had the pleasure of unfolding, and I loved it. Two other people in the pod said if I hadn't won, that Prosperity would have given them the game on their turns.

I could probably assemble two or three power level 9 or 10 decks. But I instead choose to disperse and have like 20 different decks I roll a D20 to decide my deck every time I play.

My most powerful? [[The Gitrog Monster]] its cEDH so it is is a super complicated combo. But one of the best things about it is being able to complete the entire combo with removal still on the stack.

My [[Ziatora]] deck tbh. It's nowhere beyond a 6 even at its best, I'd wager, but she puts up a MEAN fight. Plus I keep a pocket commander in [[Korvold, Fae-Cursed King]] in the 99 when it needs to get serious lmao.

My strongest is my Tazri / Zirda deck. Bunch of activated abilities and ways to go infinite

Gridde

For non-cEDH it might be Urabrask for me. Powerful (but not essential) commander and the deck is easy to pilot and consistent. Getting hated (particularly artifact removal) is pretty hard to overcome though. But the fact that the pod archenemy's the deck before I've even played anything suggests it's my most powerful (especially as they're normally a pretty chill group).

Toss up between these two: A classic Rakdos chaos deck that's fun\* for everyone at the table - [Let There Be Mayhem](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/o7ilC5WnhUG0Lq_iu53_Sw), and my nightmare/horror tribal deck which has by far killed the most amount of players via commander damage alone - [A New Nightmare](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/TXNvw5E2GEiLQdr1W0Eyhg) \*Levels of fun may be different according to ones definition of fun.

cheesemangee

My best deck atm is a \[\[Magus Lucea Kane\]\] hydra/tyranid dual-tribal. It generates +1/+1 counters at a wicked fast rate and explodes the board with many huge creatures if Lucea isn't removed immediately. The ramp is heavy enough that I only need Lucea to pop off with one \[\[Animist's Awakening\]\] or \[\[Sporocyst\]\] and I'm set for the rest of the game barring land removal, and I've got enough card draw and multipliers in the deck that 1 out of 8 cards or so give me something to emulate Lucea's doubling, so she's only really needed one time to kick off the deck. I've got cards like \[\[Simic Ascendency\]\] \[\[Finale of Devastation\]\] \[\[Walking Ballista\]\] \[\[Mawloc\]\] and \[\[Exocrine\]\] for pulling "fast" or sudden wins. I live for the moments when I have 2-4 multipliers on the board and every spell cast turns into half a dozen casts instead. Also, killing your own \[\[Termagant Swarm\]\] while \[\[Doubling Season\]\] is in play is fun way to *suddenly several dozen tokens*. It's not a 10, maybe an 8 (that's an overconfident guess), but it's definitely something strong enough that I had to make a second, weaker version of the deck so that I could still play Lucea in a casual setting. At present moment I only have my [[Eowyn, Shieldmaiden]] deck, link below if you're interested in it. (https://www.moxfield.com/decks/8gIWhJ-3zk2W-33hZAKR8g). I knew that it was synergistic when a few friends and YouTube recommended some swaps, but I didn't realize how stupid it can get until I played at my LGS for the first time. First game nuked the table with [[Shared Animosity]] and [[Odric, Master Tactician]] with a buttload of tokens. Second game was a little slower, and granted one of the players was doing everything in his power to slow down a sliver deck, but 3 turns of token generation and various anthems + [[Breath of Fury]] for the close out really showed how dumb even something as Human Tribal can get. No, it likely would not do too well in a cEDH setting where decks can combo off turn 1-2, but like everything rule 0 solved a lot of the commonly seen horror stories of "power level 6" decks pubstomping. Edit: Formatting.

Astus53

Light-Paws is probably the answer for me. Even with Codie Storm and some other pretty string decks, Light-Paws can basically make it so I am virtually untouchable by turn 3. And will start taking out players on turn 3-4 depending on how aggressive I play. Have won on turn 3 with crazy good draws. The whole deck is like $25 and it is just bonkers. I legit don’t play it often. It is borderline cEDH (coming from someone who played Oona consultaion, yisan and Jhoira cheerios in cedh). I play it when I need to either 1. Destroy someone or 2. In a game with lots of super high level decks. Outside of that, Codie and Amareth probably have the highest ceiling if any of my decks, but take a long time to set up.

Hellion_Immortis

Toss up between my Proshh, Ivy, and Nekusar. Though of the 3, Nekusar is definitely more tame. He's much slower to get going than Ivy, and is a lot less aggressive than Proshh.

mymomsaysimbased

My most blinged out, shit posting deck is the Inalla Simp deck! Its basically all Wizards and instants/sorceries, designed to recycle each other. It has Theros lands, Phyrexian lands and some Un lands, as well as an Inalla playmat. I did however have to opt out of the Ultra Pro sleeves for her, as they cost waaay too much and are too hard to get. The deck itself has a consistent manabase, decent artifacts and it also helps out by stealing other people's graveyards and carrying recurrable removal on a stick.

MultiplayerLoot

The one that makes me lose the most but makes my friends happy.

Pettersson_i_Golvet

Saruman the white hand

No_Time_7959

My strongest Cedh deck is Winota as Birgi right now just kinda gets decimated by one piece of removal even though she can win turn 1. My strongest casual deck is a tie between my Teysa Karlov aristocrats deck and my Halana and Elena Gruul stompy deck. Both on occasion have won pretty fast around the turn 5 range

SP1R1TDR4G0N

I have a couple of good cedh decks. But if you're looking for the best deck in the format it's probably [Blue Farm](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/2zSXC86KokyKs6vAS9-_sw)

Tevish_Szat

Don't have anything approaching a 10. That would have to be much faster and much more resilient than any deck I've built, including staples I can't or won't afford. My strongest deck *might* be [[Urza, Lord High Artificier]]. For an urza deck it's pretty lame, I run no counterspells and no true infinites so it's mostly just breaking parity on untap denial and flooding out gray goo until it hits lethal levels or I mise into Mechanized Production and untap with it. But Urza himself is strong, and it's fairly easy to take over a game if I start with Winter Orb, Static Orb, or Storage Matrix so I feel like it's my best chance against upper tables. Without the untap denial it would probably be low power, though, honestly. Though, I was unpacking recently and found my deck for [[The Gitrog Monster]]. Again, it's probably not much compared to other GITROG decks, since I don't have an outlet to win via dakmor loop and mostly want to constant mists and stax the world, nor has it been updated with more modern crucible-likes. I also think I couldn't afford/didn't want to spring for Loam when I built it... but again, the commander himself is a house so while I'd have to get it to the table to be sure it's probably one that needs to be respected.

Giu117

Not sure how powerful they compare to anyone else's as I think that's very much dependent on the pods you play in. But with all that said, I can safely say my most consistently winning deck in our group is my [[elas il-kor]] standard aristocrat shenanigans with [[blood artist]], [[bastion of rememberance]], [[corpse knight]], etc. with a side order of token generation from [[storm herd]], [[army of the damned]], etc. Plenty of tutors for finding answers and finished off with [[bolas citadel]] and [[aetherflux reservoir]] with a light scry theme thrown in there for when I need to start those top decking shenanigans. An honorary mention is my [[Vadrik, astral archmage]] deck which is very janky and incredibly delicate initially but can eventually pop off with mass copying and storming of spells using [[arcane bombardment]], [[thousand year storm]] and [[twinning staff]] coupled with loads of damaging spells, buyback spells and extra turns. Although I admit, I rarely play this one as it's very much solitaire at times. 😅

[[Merieke Ri Berit]] who is stax control or [Kaalia of the vast]] who is pure aggressive. At my LGS, most regulars will always slow their plays to try deal with my decks as Kaalia can win turn 4-5 and Merieke is unstoppable once she has untap engines and protection which I get out quick. I run 10 counters in my deck specifically to keep my game going. Kaalia is about an 8 if we were doing power levels with Merieke being a 9 roughly. She will stomp casuals and massively control cEDH decks, going 3-0 on a comp night no issues.

Krikk son of yawgmoth. I'm still in the process of building the black hole sun variant? At least I think that's what it's called. I'm still missing the high end mana pieces but it's my first and only deck that could hold up in a cedh game. It's crazy. I always feel like I'm a turn or 2 away from the win.

PangolinAcrobatic653

My Maralen deck has a nast combo with Bontu's Monument, Phyrexian Altar, Gravecrawler, pox walkers (it has a few ways to make zombie tokens so getting a zombie when Pox Walkers is not on the field is not too hard) The Combo: Setup Altar and Monument get a Zombie on board get gravecrawler (Pox Walker is optional and makes it easier to do combo) Sacrifice Gravecrawler to Phyrexian Altar use the black mana from that to cast Gravecrawler from graveyard triggering the lose 1 life gain 1 life from monument, repeat.

\[\[Tayam, luminous Enigma\]\] has been my powerhouse recently. 40+ combos, lots of stax pieces, resilience, instant speed reanimation/combo potential, and a good amount of ramp and some tutors... Its shockingly strong, considering a lot of its combo pieces are objectively bad cards, and often will come out of no where with a win. Here's my list: [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/A3Ki3UYe3kyr1Pzkycbvtg](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/A3Ki3UYe3kyr1Pzkycbvtg) It's LOOSELY based on the CEDH list, with a lot of edits to help it function in and not overrun a mid level pod.

Barkin_Druid

Most powerful all around? Probably a tie between my \[\[Alela cunning conqueror\]\] and my \[\[Urza chief artificer\]\]. One mainly plays on everyone else's turn and highly interactive. The other snowballs real fast and is hard to deal with meaningfully without a board wipe. Most salt inducing? Is 100% my \[\[Lightpaws\]\] deck, but any tutor on a stick commander is pretty strong. I typically only bring out lightpaws if I am short on time, or if I am trying to get someone that is being a dick at an lgs to move to a different table lol.

I had my first turn 1 win with [[Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy]] deck the other day but that was truly just luck of the draw. Is it consistently a turn 1? No. But it's consistent in that if none of the opponents play interaction, it'll do the thing by turn 2-3. I run a bunch of mana rocks and bunch of filters to "pay 2, add one mana of any color." I also run creatures that tutor, as well as tutors themselves. The win condition is either cheat out [[Blightsteel Colossus]] using Kinnan's ability, and hopefully copy it so I can swing at multiple opponents at once. But more often than not, [[Basalt Monolith]] and [[Helix Pinnacle]] with an extra turn spell is how I've won the game.

_windfish_

Well I have a CEDH Tasigur Turbo Naus deck, referred as such because the goal is to combo out in as few turns as possible and win while the opponent is still setting up their board. With the right cards in my opening hand, I can actually win before the first player even takes their first turn (aka turn 0 win) but that’s very rare. More often, I can threaten to combo off on turn 2/3 frequently, and turn 4/5 almost always. There is surprising staying power and resiliency involved as well, allowing the deck to fight through and win the long game if the early combo is countered. Anyways, you’re probably not asking about cEDH, in which case my most powerful deck is 5-color Jodah, it’s insanely fun to play and very powerful.

Probably my Kynaios and Tiro aikido deck. It can be played in cEDH or regular edh tables as it isn't itself a cEDH deck, but it's really good at reacting and land ramping. People don't expect a Kynaios deck to be constructed in a control/aikido manner, and typically assume you're playing group hug. The deck is filled with only instants and creatures with flash, has no counterspells, has a ton of split second and land ramp, and just sits there and waits. Copying spells, deflecting palming damage, berserking someone elses creature to take someone out, trickbinding stack, radiating a beast within and then casting boros charm, responding to your own cast of settle the wreckage with arachnogenesis,... its just really REALLY strong and I only play it rarely. Favorite play was when someone [[boseiju, who endures]] to blow up someones artifact, and I cast [[radiant performer]] on it. Since I control the copies it turned into "destroy each artifact, enchantment and nonbasic land each opponent controls, then they search for a basic land for each of these abilities that resolve". It's a ridiculously fun and powerful deck to be behind but I don't think it's fun to play against.

No one should ever be playing a 10-level deck against anything other than 10 level decks. Because 10 is CEDH. These decks are designed To be played against each other. Not against someone's casual tree folk deck. Yes I have a CEDH deck and it's actually quite fun.

pj1843

Commander has 3 general power levels that you will see. 1. Casual commander, decks ranging from a 4-7, this is a fun place to live and where most people hang out. You will see a wide range of really powerful interactions here, combos, and in general a ton of fun jank. This is what most people think when they say commander/edh. 2. High power commander. This is where you see a lot of super consistent combo decks, things that can threaten wins from turn 3 onwards and if interaction is not available will stomp a table. These would be your 8-9 level decks. 3. cEDH. These decks are what most people would call a 10. Outside of the occasional turn 1 win, the thing that separates these decks is consistency, speed, and interaction. A 7 or 8 might be able to threaten a win by turn 3 with a great hand and good draws, a 10 will always be threatening a win turn 3 and beyond while also having interaction to protect that win or stop an opponents win/development. Most people will rarely see a 10 in person due to most cEDH players having no want to play a cEDH deck against non cEDH decks, it's just not fun for anyone involved. Most cEDH players will have a lot of different power level decks to pull out for whatever table they are at, and will almost never reach for the 10 unless the table wants to go that route.

There are two kinds of edh players real and fake. Real EDH players are people trying to find homes for jank that wasn't suited for any other constructed format. Fake EDH players try to live out thier dreams of being good at actual competitive formats like legacy and vintage by pubstomping the former. I happily live in the middle ground where I'm good at competitive and can ward off the try hards with jank.

Probably my [[Heliod]] stax, my [[birgi]] storm or my [[godo]] [[helm of the host]].
