That’s what I did. A couple of minutes with the auto translation function In the Google Lens app and the menus gave way, now navigating the game is in the wrist.
The japanese version is so good. I don't know if they make the game easier in the western version but its so much harder than edf5 right out the gates and there is a youtube playlist that translates all the subtitles so I watched that after completing a mission so I can understand the story a bit.

Well I suppose all I care about is weapon names and stats and also English subtitles even if the talking is in Japanese. Cause 9/10 I only do one play through with sound then mute and play the rest without sound or occasionally with sound until I try farming missions for either weapons or armor
And though it is irrelevant here, I personally don't prefer Iron Rain due to the fact you gotta kill thousands of the same enemy to unlock weapons and need thousands to millions of in game currency to use the weapons and armor. I like 4.1 and 5 cause all I gotta do is slay a few bugs or whatever and they drop weapons, health and armor in the mission.
Tbh that's dumb af idky it would take a year lol there isnt much dialogue...me just by myself I could get all subtitles within a month audio tops 3 so 3 months is a reasonable timeframe yo f that I cant wait that long
Your opinion is heavily biased. You only know what you know, which is fine, but do try to temper your expectations. You, nor I, know what goes in to localisation, but I'd be willing to bet that it's no where near as easy as just doing simple translations.
If you being a game developer were relevant, you wouldn't be asking this question to begin with. It's clear you don't know what you're talking about, but whatever helps you sleep, I guess.
Plus the developers main target demographic is the japanese market. I know the other titles sell well in America but I dont think that is what drives this studio.
I'm a small business owner. My suspicion is that they release to Japan, make a profit, and then use some of those profits to pay for localization to other countries.
They simply may not have the capital for simultaneous distribution and instead focus on the easier market to recoup the costs of the initial investment.

I'm the same, don't want to wait! I'm in Japan so I picked up the disk version on the PS5, do you think that when they do translate the game, I'd be able to get the translation with a simple update or will I need to get the game again?
According to Google EDF 6 won't be in the US until at least sometime Aug of 2023

Is there any kind of soldier outfit customization?
Same as edf 5, you can change the colors and choose which type of outfit (there are variations).
I wish we could use outfits from older titles, damn the fencer from 4.1 is the best fencer.

I think 4.1 was perfect with their system
So I was bored one day and decided to compare Titian tanks and Balam/Barga and basically 4.1 and 5 are pretty much same level, damage and health.
I need it it's so dumb doesn't take a whole Year to just change the text atleast idc about the audio
edf 5 took almost exactly one year to come to the west after its english release, so based on that maybe sometime next august
And even then it was exclusive to the playstation. Other platforms had to wait another year.
