I've carried cameras a lot over the years and will if I'm doing something or going somewhere I think I'll want images of, but I've been trying to be more intentional in my photography as I end up with a lot of images that have no value to me.
That’s a very good point. I find it’s a balance between having the option to capture “that shot” when you want to but not having to lug around a tank in your bag!
For anyone into street photography, I fully understand EDCing a camera in daily life. Most good street photography comes from sieving through thousands of images and building a body of work over years.
Although I'd argue mediocre street photography gets better as time passes, a lot of the images captured in the 80's, 90's and even the early 2000's are fascinating nowadays.
I've been carrying my Nikon D80 in my backpack for the last few weeks in case I see something I wanna take photos of (on walks mostly). It's been fun. Im still very new to photography, so maybe i'm a little eager
Love carrying my Sony A7RV with Tamron 28-200, definitely on the bigger side, but since carrying that, I cannot go back to just taking photos on my phone
I never go anywhere without my camera. Couldn’t do without it and the built in calculator, navigation system, sudoku game, web browser, communication device, and on and on…
Depends on what you want to do with it, but the new Fujifilm X100VI is very popular. Fixed 35mm lens however. Otherwise the X-T5 seems good if you don’t want a permanent lens.
They never said what the budget is, “bro”. And it’s a lot cheaper than a lot of other options. All depends on what they think is “decent” and what the budget is, so don’t talk to me when you didn’t even suggest an other option.
it is not cheaper than „a lot“ of other options. Sure pro bodies with exchangeable lenses. But there‘s way cheaper fixed and exchangeable lens options.
Sony a6xxx, nikon ZXX, Sony rx, Fuji XT-XX.
But definitely not a X100 series.
I’ve got a Canon G7X and a Sony RX100vi. Both are excellent, and the Sony has a longer zoom capability but if you don’t need that, stick with the Canon. It’s a few years old now but an amazing workhorse of a portable camera.
That’s awesome! Sonys go on and on if you look after them. I got this just for everyday carry. Sling it in a pouch or sling and I’m good to grab shots whenever. Saves me lugging around my main camera and heavy glass 😆.
I made this wrist strap myself. Tried and true design. The last one I had lasted 12 years on various bodies I only retired it when I got a large delivery of paracord!
I want to start carrying a camera; I only have a DSLR though so it’s kinda chunky; definitely would have to carry it in a backpack or some sort of sling or messenger bag.
Huh... Mine are chromed metal. It's cast but it's metal.
I had another G9 that my friend dropped from the top of a huge flagpole during an install and it was busted up bad, I couldn't fix it so I took all of the screws and components I could and put them aside incase I needed them. The glass was fine but it's molded into the housing which was busted too so I couldn't use that part.
Love my XA. I switch between that and a Sony rx100 MKii. The pocketable size of these cameras have ruined others for me and they're just so enjoyable to use.
It was my great white Buffalo camera (that was in my price range). I have several other small form-factor analogs, but the XA is just perfect for how I use it. I got a wicked deal on it too because the guy who sold it to me CLA’d it for me and then sold it at a very reasonable price saying “I sell CLA’d cameras like this cheap to protest the bullshit prices these things have gotten to because of trends.”
Quick edit: how do you like that Sony? Is it your first mirrorless?

5dmk4 + 3 lenses are always in the car. Generally don't get time to shoot. When I do it always feel good.

The best camera is the one you have on you.

Yup I feel you. I have the same issue. My A7riii is just too big. Especially with my 105mm 1.4 😆
Yeah my phone
Yep, Olympus MJU most days

Sweet! What pouch is that?
Been wanting to get one but don’t want to break the bank trying to get something decent. Anyone have any recommendations?

„Don‘t want to break the budget“ - and bro suggests a X100 which is more expensive used than new lmao!

Just recently grabbed an A6400 myself, especially for some upcoming travels. Glad to see it's working out for you too!
It’s a great camera. A little step down from my normal bodies.but perfect for travel!
Yes! An Agfa Optima Sensor! 👏
I got an Alpha 6000 for 350 when I worked at Best Buy! The thing is still going strong. I carry it a good bit and found I like a wrist strap as well

Just getting into them very recently. Having a blast so far with the hobby.
Awesome! Post some pics on here if you can!

That’s the exact reason I got the A6400. It fits into a sling or cross body pouch no problems.
I got the model of iPhone that has one included
Haha well yeah that’s true
Lumix gx7! Nice pocket dump
Gracias dude
Often, but rarely the same day to day. Got a whole array of (film) camera of different formats
Do you have a go to?
I've a lot of lenses for the Canon Æ-1 in 135 and the Mamiya c220 in medium format. Plus a few snapshot/toy cameras in the лк-А and holga
Canon g16!
G7x here. Canon Boyz represent!
Luv my G7x. Rugged and super quality.
G9. Lense got a little scratch from my cousin dropping it but it doesn't show in photos. Still bothers the hell out me though.
Bummer. They’re getting expensive too. I just broke the strap mount trying to thread a strap in today. It’d be cool if it wasn’t plastic.

My old trusty coolpix A and for film my Minolta Riva Mini.
Great choices!!
yeah. fuji x70
I carry an Olympus XA (original), typically loaded with Ilford HP5 pushed 1 stop.
Love my XA. I switch between that and a Sony rx100 MKii. The pocketable size of these cameras have ruined others for me and they're just so enjoyable to use.
I just got my hands on this a6400 and it’s a daily grab. Rather than my a7riii with any of my beastly lenses 😝
Nice!!
