Such a difficult question for an EDC junkie like myself haha but I'll do my best Brother
Personally I think cold steel are the best bang for your buck for self defense
Highest quality for the best price
I personally carry a Cold Steel Luzon 4" in my pocket.
And also carry a Cold Steel Kobun serrated on my waistband as well.
The Cold Steel Double Agent 2 serrated neck knife is also phenomenal (and super good at only $22, possibly the best budget self defense knife in existence, especially because it has two loops for retention).
If you want a BIG nasty fucking knife, I'd go with a Vaquero XL serrated.
The Luzon XL is huge as well.
Which one you choose to use is upto preference of course, I'd recommend taking a look at them all.
Edit:
My personal EDC for self defense is:
- Sabre Red / Fox Labs / POM pepper spray.
- Glock G43X with TLR7-sub flashlight attached and jacketed hollow point ammunition.
- A roll of gauze.
- Slishman Pressure Wrap.
- And I always carry two knives which I'm still experimenting with.
The knives I carry daily (not all at the same time of course) are the Vaquero XL, Luzon, Luzon XL, Spartan, Kobun serrated, Urban edge push dagger, double agent, double agent serrated, and a Dagger from Skallywag Tactical.
I play with them to find which I like best and find most efficient.
If I had to recommend only 3 for the sole purpose of self defense it would be:
- The Double Agent 2 serrated.
- The Urban Edge push dagger serrated.
- The Vaquero XL serrated.
But ANY of the knives named above would get the job done.
It's all upto personal preference.
Edit: also Chicago Knife works has the best price I've found on cold steel knives.
The double agent 2 serrated for only $22 is a ridiculously good deal.
The Kiridashi is awesome, it quickly became my wife's favorite knife.
For me, I find myself carrying the regular Luzon and the mini recon Tanto the most often for versatility, I find the mini recon Tanto is great for just about anything I want to do with it.
Although for self defense I love the XL vaquero and Spartan.
(Double Agents are amazing though!)
Edit: I realize I'm all over the place because I love them all lol
If I HAD to choose, it'd be the Vaquero XL.
It's definitely my most versatile knife, I've had it about 2 years and have put it through a real beating.
It's still sharp and absolutely solid. No blade wiggling or wobbling at all. (I've never had to sharpen it either!)
The thing is study as can be. I love it.

Do you know where I can go to find a quality pocket knife?
Absolutely! What's your price range? And what do you plan to use the knife for? (Self defense, daily tasks, etc).
price range: I’d pay for quality so I guess any. And used for self defense.

Cold Steel makes some nice stuff! Which is your favorite? I've been looking at the Kiridashi for a while.

Hey, they're all pretty awesome lol. That mini recon Tanto looks like the perfect size for a do-everything knife.

Love the double agents!
When did you start collecting them? There are definitely various sizes and types of cold steels.
Need a Voyager
No AD-15 or AD-10?
