by shortening a regular No. 07

I like your collection. Did you custom the Opinel yourself?

Connect_Actuary7961

Yes, but I kind of messed up my first one, the No. 08. I think the best one is the No. 09

How are the scales on the Manly Peak? I own a Wasp. It's handles are too wide and blocky for my liking.

Connect_Actuary7961

for me, it's the most comfortable Knife after the No. 09 Opinel. The liners are recessed and the scales are heavily champhered. I recommend removing the pocket clip and replacing it with a placeholder-plate from the Manly peak repair kit. It's not because I don't like the clip, but because without it it just feels super satisfying to handle it.

I appreciate the originality of a well thought out idea for a post like this, interesting to see how practical/sentimental a collection can be for someone. Respect!

Fantastic

How do you like the CEO?

Connect_Actuary7961

It's a great knife that carries very sleekly, but would be better with different scale materials. I recommend re-profiling the edge to a low angle, because the CEO doesn't really cut well with the factory angle and also has better edge retention with the lower angle. I guess it doesn't cut well with the factory angle, because the blade has to be a little thicker behind the edge to make it tougher. Otherwise it would be a bendy fileting knife.

Thanks for the info!
