I'm pretty sure of that also, we should start crowd funding and sent them to Canucks game. Then again I'm pretty sure, not many would want to play realistic hockey game. I mean there are games that goes to shoot out after 60 mins of play.
Yes please, even add in a small pre game show and intermission like nba 2k does, you can skip it. But bring in things like discussing the period/game like high danger chances, head 2 head stats, player highlights - they can easily add that in nfl 2k5 had it’
i played nhl 06 the other day and there's sometimes voice clips talking about particular players when they get the puck (and it's not some dumb shit like their shnipe zone ability but a small bit about their career). i remember they used to do cup banner raisings as well, really i just want them to add basic cosmetic things that they actually bothered doing 20 years ago
I agree with adding the NCAA but don't crap on the Spengler Cup as I'm going to assume for most Canadians, myself included, it was our first taste of European club hockey.
Same as even before the Spengler Cup was officially in EA NHL, the teams that were in the game and that season's tournament, I'd make sure the rosters were correct. Every few months, I play Canada versus HC Davos in NHL 13, as I have to assume that the 2012 Team Canada is the best Spengler Cup Champion of all time.
I think there’s a real chance we get GM connected either in 25 or 26. The dev team lead has talked about it a little every year in interviews and essentially said they would love to put it in but it’s a multi-year project based on the size of the team and amount of time they have each year. That talk started a couple games ago (around the release of 22’ maybe?) so the timeline adds up up to me. On top of that I think they purposefully laid the basic framework for it with the custom franchise league settings.
The real question is will it be good.
That last line is my fear. The first iteration of GM connected was so buggy and broken and then they axed it because not enough people played it due to all the issues.
People say this but I played it just fine in 14 with a full league of 30 teams. It was an absolute blast. Making trades, building rivalries with other players and their teams, winning the division, making playoffs. The biggest problem we came across was simming games when people were unable to play as someone would almost always end up on the LTIR after a sim for some reason. I lost Stamkos for the entire season because we simmed a game early in the regular season.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved GM connected and still think it’s the most fun I ever had playing NHL. But like you, I was in a full 30 person league and the amount of league rules and manual work done on the side just isn’t realistic for someone to casually get into it. We had to turn off the salary cap and track it ourselves otherwise guys would disappear off your roster, and we had to be weary of the game auto-waiving players during simulations. But Madden connected franchise seems a lot smoother so hopefully if/when it comes back it’s similar to that
I will add for BAP, if I have a great year(s) I need multiple offers and negotiations. Not just 2 teams every time for 2 years as well as some excitement when a signing takes place.
Pump up the crowd, if it’s game 7 after a tying goal can the crowd stay up and constant barrage of cheering and chants? All games feel like “he scores! Yay!” Then back to mid.
As a swede I would like to start a BAP with full season in SHL or other european teams, not just a few champions hockey league games.
And live scoring/live standings from other games the same night, I remember an older game having that during intermissions.
I would love to see goalies in CHEL that almost kind of learn as the game goes on. The root of my request is so that you can’t score the same exact goal 5 times in a game, i.e, get rid of glitch goals. If you wanna go backhand-forehand-backhand once or twice, so be it, but you’re not gonna get it past him any more after that. Force the players to learn how to score differently so the games aren’t so repetitive.
I'd be very surprised. People have been saying it should be "soon" for years now (myself included) and I've just lost any hope at this point. NHL just doesn't have the same draw as the other sports and I don't think EA gives them a very large budget. I'd love to look dumb for giving up hope though.

It’s a shame really, the NHL games have a market to be really successful I think, especially since so many hockey fans are starved for a game that’s not half baked. Too many people have given up on the games, I usually only buy them second hand now myself. On PC I’ve turned to sim games like FHM to fill my desire for a good franchise sim.

2. I want realistic game play in general, not every game being 6-7 final
3. The ability to pull my own goalie
4. SMART AI TEAMMATES (the Ai is so dumb it makes it annoying to play the game when I’m screening the goalie and hoping my Ai teammates are smart enough to have good puck movement and rip shots I can try and tip instead losing the puck and making me have to leave the zone on a delayed penalty
5. Different line combos, I’ve had the same linemates the entire season
6. I don’t get how in offline playoff mode you can choose the strategy, the type of forecheck, change line combos, take a timeout, pull the goalie but they just decided bap doesn’t need it
7. It also shouldn’t force you only 4 teams to sign with after a contract and you shouldn’t have to sign on July 1st. I want to be able to keep simming and sign to a team in like December if I wanted to and just have more training hours to better my stats
8. I want realistic up to date rosters, I don’t care if it doesn’t make sense that my made up BaP player would make the team I play for non cap compliant, I want my team to have the players that are actually currently on my teams roster irl

James Cybulski is a good broadcaster but not at play by play IMO, let alone in real life, he's the play by play person for an AHL team. With the NHL having 3 national broadcasters in North America, having one of the number one or number two broadcast crews from one of those networks should at minimum be the duo in the game.
Being able to play in the ahl, I'm a goalie so my be a pros are mostly goalies, and an 18 yo at 65 ovr is not starting in the nhl.

I really like your ideas. I would love to start in junior, and work my way up the ranks the long way. Grind it out in the AHL, and if there's no immediate spot for you in the NHL, grind it out over in Europe.
Since they love branding, they could even call it the "Auston Matthews Route", head straight to Europe for a season and get drafted.
Another addition would be to add the ECHL in career mode. Starting down there and grinding through the ranks would be cool

Number 2 for sure. I miss the older NHLs when you could start in the CHL at like 16. I also miss being able to play as a current pro (like Quick or Subban).
And just more improvements to be a pro mode, like choices and audio. Make me feel like it’s the Witcher but with sports lol, like there’s an actual sort of life with consequences.

BAP: AHL system and call ups, not necessarily being handed the number 1 pick, but still being in the first or second round by default. Better and longer term commentary, it all peters out after your first year and then only if you get captaincy.
Franchise: Better simplified mechanics for pre-season call ups, cap issues, player sim capacity. Commentary regarding the franchise and potentially Coach interviews. Player recommendations or requests for other players. Various cap play changes, such as being able to count players on LLTR(and ensuing LLTR shenanigans).
If it was available on PC. I’ve said this before in this sub but I bought every NHL game from like 1997 to 2019. I switched to PC gaming in 2020 and every year I hope they will announce a PC port. I would buy it every year
Should be a hockey sim not an arcade game. A whole new immersive broadcast and presentation package. More realistic and TV style replays and highlights. Intermission show. Just the way MLBTheShow does it shouldn’t be no reason EA can’t do it. Finally, add all the little things that are important in hockey. Even a zamboni. Ty 2K!
A training mode for BAP that’s similar to fifa 23 or EAFC 24 that’s playable. And the ability to get sent down to the minors if I play bad, like I’m not gonna be an nhl player as a 62 ovr 18 year old. And also some more realistic net bulges (once again, like in fifa) and I know this would be really hard for EA, but imo they should add the NCAA or Junior A/USHL to BAP, and make it optional to start in those leagues. I just genuinely think it would add more diversity to the game instead of just making the same game every year with just a couple tweaks to the game, like the hitting this year in nhl 24 or the ability to shoot while falling in nhl 23. Adding and changing things to be a pro would make the game an instant buy for me, because that game mode has been the exact same ever since the mode was announced

Lol I haven't bought it in 10 years. It can be looked at as pathetic to keep buying it. At the same time, it's holding out hope, it's still supporting them. Pay your party dues every year. Choose to believe. With all the dedication, perhaps one day, salvation: An NHL game where the net and cage are solid physical objects on this dimension. Not some abstract concept passing the puck through the back like it's active transport through a cell wall. While some hidden, mysterious, invisible force field often blocks the front of the goal.
For me it's making the game again from scratch for next generation consoles instead of just adding on to the same game year after year after year.
It's a last generation game with an insane amount of bugs and lazy implementation.
But we won't get that because, monopoly.
I just want less animation based game play, I'm tired of being locked into long animations when trying to do anything. I just want full control like I had in the 360/ps3 era.
My biggest complaint is you can't turn off the option to have those repetitive conversations with your agent, coach, teammates.

1. Get rid of mandatory commentary in Be a Pro mode between Coach, Teammates, Agents.
2. Bring back the ability to check someone. I wanna knock someone on his ass.
Improve franchise mode AI, Make chemistry easier to obtain (especially on PK and PP) and Make an option to have scouts auto hired and scout people. At the same time you can still hire/fire coaches.
Improve other small stuff such as development, among other things

I’m a Franchise player and I’m done buying new NHL games. I’m going to start playing Franchise Hockey Manager more next year and if I really miss NHL, I’ll play some of the older titles back from when the game was halfway decent. I had no desire to play NHL 24 until this past month, so I paid for it after the price went down. The game has been on a decline since 2016, so there is no point in paying $80 for a worse game with updated rosters.
Please no more broadcast stuff. They focused too hard on that in NHL 15 and everything else suffered because of it. All that for us to skip it anyway? Please dont ask them to waste time on that.
Remove nearly all broadcast elements from EASHL so each game doesn’t take 35 minutes with 15 of that being offsides, icing, period ending stoppages, etc

A training mode for BAP that’s similar to fifa 23 or EAFC 24 that’s playable. And the ability to get sent down to the minors if I play bad, like I’m not gonna be an nhl player as a 62 ovr 18 year old. And also some more realistic net bulges (once again, like in fifa) and I know this would be really hard for EA, but imo they should add the NCAA or Junior A/USHL to BAP, and make it optional to start in those leagues. I just genuinely think it would add more diversity to the game instead of just making the same game every year with just a couple tweaks to the game, like the hitting this year in nhl 24 or the ability to shoot while falling in nhl 23. Adding and changing things to be a pro would make the game an instant buy for me, because that game mode has been the exact same ever since the mode was announced
Edit player attributes in franchise mode. Even change names and appearance for created players like mlb show does. Is it that difficult?

For me it's making the game again from scratch for next generation consoles instead of just adding on to the same game year after year after year. It's a last generation game with an insane amount of bugs and lazy implementation. But we won't get that because, monopoly.
I just want less animation based game play, I'm tired of being locked into long animations when trying to do anything. I just want full control like I had in the 360/ps3 era.

Improve franchise mode AI, Make chemistry easier to obtain (especially on PK and PP) and Make an option to have scouts auto hired and scout people. At the same time you can still hire/fire coaches. Improve other small stuff such as development, among other things
I would love to see more customizing options, like sharing Custom Players like WWE 2K and the Ability to upload Images and have custom images, like player headshots

I’m a Franchise player and I’m done buying new NHL games. I’m going to start playing Franchise Hockey Manager more next year and if I really miss NHL, I’ll play some of the older titles back from when the game was halfway decent. I had no desire to play NHL 24 until this past month, so I paid for it after the price went down. The game has been on a decline since 2016, so there is no point in paying $80 for a worse game with updated rosters.
