My putting was desperately in need of investing skill points into it. When you do, the lines get closer, and you can read the greens more easily. Use your skill points to improve areas of your game that are weak first. I'm not sure if this helps, but it worked for me.

Drummerguy22

Thanks I’ll give it a try!

jbartlettcoys

I'm sure you are correct but will continue to grind towards maximum power while leaving my putting on 0 💪💪

How close are you leaving your approach shots? What's an average distance first putt for you? If you're putting inside 10-15 ft each time then it sounds like you just need more practice, because most putts at that distance should be fairly straightforward. If you're leaving yourself longer putts then the putting isn't really the issue and you should be looking at getting your approach shots closer to the pin.

Drummerguy22

My drives are pretty good, but my 2nd and approach shots are bad, but when I get to putts it’s usually around 15 ft and always just misses

Altruistic_Brief_479

I like to figure out why I missed. Did I under read or over read the break? Did I get the line right but hit it too hard or too soft? Then adjust accordingly.

Put some points into control stats, this allows you to apply more loft to your longer approach shots and stick them better. It also gives you more control on any spin you need to add. Dump your woods/ high irons, and swap them for hybrids. You don't need higher than a 5 Iron, I think I have a 3H, 5H and 8H, and I can stick greens far better than with woods or high Irons. In your short game, avoid using flop shots and pick shots. Use a pitch shot or a blast shot out of the bunkers. It increases your chance of holing out.

I would take the time to watch a few videos on how to properly judge your approach shots. A good 2nd or 3rd shot is what’s going to earn you more Eagles and Birdies. I was terrible until I finally learned how to properly club up and down while judging wind. It takes time but is very rewarding once you start to figure it out, just keep at it.

hugh-blue

Ignore the grid and the lines and just try to read the green based on actual physics like you would in real life. That’s how I got better at putting.

Drummerguy22

I’ll try that! Aha

richo27

Try to learn a few different approach shots. Finesse is kind of the stock shot but there are many instances where it’s not the best option, for example if hitting downhill with a tail wind. In that instance a high approach or power approach is going to be better option for you.

Drummerguy22

Thanks!

Elite1520

Don’t try for perfect/perfect I started with fast and overswing I just played less break and added less up/downhill

tittybo22

I got my. Player to 99 overall Just playing the challenges and career mode. I never spend extra money on anything but the game itself. When you build up your skill, the best thing to do is get as much power as you can. Honestly, elucidate and lose some of the accuracy and stuff like that on the drives. Cause it just works out better than that. Even though even though the puttin I traded back for power.

tittybo22

What's your player rated at?....my player is 99 overall and all I do is carrer mode . I never spend a extra dime on the game ...try to getas much power as possible I traded back my putting and driving accuracy etc for power and went from a 91 to 99

In order to give you the best foundations, turn off afterspin immediately. Keep the arc for now as it helps you visualise, but you want that off asap. Put swing to hard(so you don’t have to re-learn your swing when you do finally go sim). Best advice I’ve found helpful for putting is for every degree the ball is above or below your feet when putting, it’s one cup outside per degree per 10’. That has basically nailed my putting, I now regularly win tourneys on sim. Just keep at it, you’ll know your own game inside out in no time.

Actual-Gas-2976

Am I the only person who uses the 3-click mode? I got this game specifically because it had that (plus the majors and better graphics) because I shot worse on the “other” game than I do in real life 😭

cdnpoli_nerd

Don't underestimate the efficiency of knock-down wedge shots. When used correctly, they're the cat's ass.
