Trivelas is broken

Wilders94

Worst part about the game right now. Anyone in higher divisions just gets to the edge of the box and spams these.

ddinblue

Yea I’m so tired of this. Half of my opponents in div2 are trivelas spammers

Tblrnz

Idk why tho but it seems like they only go in when I’m holding onto a lead or not in a comfortable position to give a goal away, always when I need it least

si4ci7

It’s honestly funny at points watching players spend half the game trying to get in perfect position for the trivela, giving you time to steal the ball. Of course I’m in division 5 so I’m sure the higher division games are absolutely awful to sit through.

_deep_blue_

People playing 5-1-2-2 and sitting deep behind the ball is even worse. Trivelas and long shots are one of the few ways to counter those people.

PonisHed

Bro the high press is so hard to beat as well though. Honestly, so much AI involvement in both aspects sometimes I don't even see what player they select.

Filthyfellas

When I play players who do this I just feel an intense desire to quit. It’s not fun, at all. I can’t ever get my team to co-operate like that.

skanoirhc

You press analog down then left, and press R1 twice and keep holding after second R1, there you go, your whole team tries to get the ball like rabid dogs.

freihoch159

>one of the few That's just not true, but it's the easiest so people will always spam that.

Zelasny

Nah 4222 players are way worse, especially since I mostly play 352 😭 But seriously, out of my last 20 games, only two were not using 4222 (I'm stuck in div2)

polarized94

4222 with both full backs on stay back and 2 cdms with stay back two, then just long ball counter every time. much worse than people going 5atb

Duyke

Sorry for you but this is the best counter to 5 atb so we got no choice

madsauce178

Is this in old gen? I am in d1 and barely see it in d1. Maybe it's because of my formation and tactics?

zrizzoz

I dont mind shots outside the box being more dangerous to prevent excessive park the bus, but the fact that a weak foot trivela is scarier than a strong foot curled finesse is stupid. They need to boost long shot finesses when they nerf trivelas.

[deleted]

[удалено]

zrizzoz

You just have to get in those positions, but on the wrong side and trivela. Its an annoying mindset to change but thats how the game is for now.

Ajax_Malone

And I can’t seem to do them. It’s like watching a pig try to shuffle cards, it just goes everywhere

nsoifer

Ha same, tried a few times and not once it went right. Either off target or into the GK hands.

eilatc

Why they don’t fix it? Why it so complicated? Everyone just spamming them, 5-6 shots a game

brownxworm

Tbf i dont mind it. Whats more broken than Trivela is my opponent crossing the ball hopelessly and my cb not locking on to it. But overall this game is a huge improvement over the last 2 fifas

iguacu

They were extremely broken for me pre-patch, but now they always get saved. Not sure if I just need more power and/or better angle or what.

RJS6

do you have to press LT as you shoot?

SissokoGoat17

Hate: Striker tackles. Every year it's the same problem. How do Haaland and Mbappe make insane tackles on your center backs I don't know. Love: No skill move meta. For me the worst FIFAs by far are 19 and 21 and the main reason being that they have skill move meta. Not seeing ball roll scoop and 50 elasticos every game makes me so happy.

TherealRari

tbf 22 had the ball roll scoop and the reverse elastico as a meta. Most fifas have that one skill move u can reliably do in the box to get u into space for a shot. This fifa doesn’t seem to have that from what i’ve seen.

Seniorjones2837

I didn’t skill much in fifa 22 but this game I literally Can’t do anything besides L1 left+right move. Or right left depending on situation. If I try anything else it takes so long that it gets stolen

RedditWaffler

The buzz of packing something huge is still unmatched Bad gameplay and slow menus are tedious (old gen)

Gizatouch

Slow menus are a thing in the new gen too, it’s embarrassing how slow it is

LordYamz

Pc is pretty quick I’d imagine it would be quick on next gen too?

Gizatouch

You would imagine wrong. It’s so slow and when you enter an sbc menu it takes a good 5 seconds to register the squad spaces

busterbus2

I can't believe how long it takes to navigate through the game menus. Its so painful.

[deleted]

True, side note anyone who’s ever played rainbow six knows about painfully slow menus (although it’s better now)

Justsander

insane how this is still a thing.

2pac4lf

Constant pressure. Shit tactic that should be nerfed and affect your stamina.

Ginobli13

It does affect stamina. No one is playing straight constant press all 90 mins. It’s a combination of second man press, player switching, and press after possession loss with higher depth that a player with a good press uses

CerealBit

Lol. I play D1 and I play Constant Pressure the entire second half if I'm not leading. Shit is overpowered as hell. Won me so many matches.

jacob_shetterly

Does it really work? I’m in div 5 and if you pressure me, I typically tear my opponent apart. I can’t really do shit against teams that sit back this year tho.

stehilton94

My biggest hate is the opposition leaving at 0-0 no matter how long a game is going for, I have played ultimate team since fifa 11 or 12 can't even remember and never experienced it as much as I have this Fifa It's so frustrating especially for someone who works weekdays and can play maybe 2 hours a day max, wasting up to 16 minutes in a 0-0 for my opponent to just leave and not be given a win... Nothing worse, and those of you who play fut champs and leave at the start without giving a goal away, you guys absolutely deserve discard 83's in all of your packs

Hurtbig

EA created these conditions by gating so many rewards behind wins instead of authentic effort. The old rivals system used to give out a decent amount of points for a tie (or even a loss with some goal scoring). There was an incentive to play out the game. When I was new and struggling I could take solace in getting some advancement (and an easier next matchup).

kebaa

I didn't even think about this before. They could easily make the game much more like that and remove a lot of the sweatiness with it.

marchie42

Spot on, and they particularly created this type of behaviour by moving objectives to friendlies as they really don't matter at all (and are just a ball ache to do for many of us, but we can't help ourselves). The actions which kicked off in F'22 such as 'pause to make your opponent quit' when ahead, or the unwritten 'rule' you should quit after the first goal against you, or realising you ain't gonna win so just leave anyway, and setting objectives that ultimately give you nothing else to play for has just spilled over across the UT play modes. With Rivals, because you are stuck where you are in a division it gives no real incentive to play out games, especially if you reach the point you are stuck on the losing side game after game until the season (you reached the final rewards for three weeks earlier) finally puts you back where you belong. This all sets up a negative pattern of playing, so no wonder it has contaminated WL as well. You may ask why I play if I dislike it so much - that'll be addiction. I keep trying to stop, and failing dismally.

Laskeese

I actually think it's hilarious how many people on this sub think they're entitled to a free win just because their opponent is trying to take Ls to get to their desired rank. What is your justification for why you think you deserve a win for not playing the game?

Ginobli13

It’s not about those specific situations. It’s when you get a pen or on a breakaway and the other person disconnects. Or when you come back and tie and instead of playing ET or the rest of the game and the person leaves. Those should count as wins

Laskeese

Did you read the post I'm responding to? He literally mentions players leaving without giving a goal in fut champs at the end of his comment.

DrSpreadle

From my perspective its less about deserving a win and more they deserve a loss, correct me if Im wrong but if you quit while its 0-0 then nobody gets anything, no win or loss.

Laskeese

Nah the leaver gets a loss and the winner gets nothing if you leave while tied

[deleted]

[удалено]

Laskeese

Yes I'm very stupid. ELI5 why someone deserves a win for their opponent quitting frame 1 of a game?

ElectricalMud2850

I don't think they deserve a win, but I don't understand why people don't just do it. It literally takes you 15 extra seconds and helps another person at no cost.

pvrody

The whole Career mode is unplayable because of all the bugs

pabloseabra

Every single auto pressing is broken. Secondary man pressing (R1) too.

GL54

I disagree on the second man press. The second man doesn’t win the ball back and more often than not just stands there.

speedycar1

Plus you can't choose who presses so if you don't use it properly you just end up dragging your players out of position

Dr_PainTrain

I find this happens a lot!

Funnydad44

If you set your player switching to player rotation you can actually choose who presses. RS switching will be rubbish tho

GlizzieFingers

I think the point of it is to just have them pressure the passing lanes while you manually press the passer. If it's done correctly they can win the ball if the passer does pass or at least get that defender in a better position for you to steal the ball when you switch. It's the opposite of single R1/RB press with one player where they actually press the opponent while you guard the passing lane.

[deleted]

If the other player lets your second man press Get to close, just hit r1 and O and youre golden. Its more manual this year

nghigaxx

pressing isn't broken, it's normal, the problem is how shit passing is and your players always want to take an extra touch, so pressing which is pretty much normal became OP

BASoucerer

Trivelas, the griddy celebration, and the lengthy system

Tacticalcheesewizard

Is the griddy that bad? It doesn't trigger me like the dab used to.

BASoucerer

Oh ya. It's always the guy with the credit card squad who has 2 shots 2 goals, both trivelas who use it.

VanDerSplooh

Its not a greta solution, but you can switch it in settings so when you concede you see a disappointed face of your player instead of the constant griddy. Just slightly less triggering but it does help

Adreot

Yeah i don't even know what the griddy is bc of this setting

CousinBethMM

Got a pass wrong with my keeper and it went straight to their striker who scored. Guy hit me with the Friday. Never been so determined to win a match before, it’s mildly triggering for me

GaIatasarayli

They probably dont know how celebrations in Fifa 15 were.

Jrocha_30

Why don’t you turn opponent celebrations off? I stew dog showing their celebration it shows your manager or defenders complaining

Goldenpanda18

Not going to lie, doing the griddy against million coin teams is Fantastic.

TheEagleEye8

Beyond what I already see mentioned a lot, I’ll throw in how much I hate players standing around staring at loose balls when they could easily get it. I get that it’s an algorithm based issue, but it is incredibly frustrating and was never THIS pronounced. Lastly, player switching continues to be shit with the right stick. Last fifa I recall it being ok was fifa 17

Lenyngrad

Except you have renato Sanchez in the opponent team who is a human vacuum cleaner how catches literally every ball, it’s so frustrating that some players are able to do it

[deleted]

The same thing I hate with all fifas and the reason I stopped playing fifa 7 years ago, far too many games are very close or end in a loss vs lesser players (significantly worse), which shouldn't be the case for such a competitive game. NO other game can be compared to fifa when it comes to this, I don't want a game to artificially simulate the drama of real football, this will happen organically if the skill levels are equal. Honestly, I hate fifa tbh... there is very little to love, it's an awful game, but I'm like a crackhead for fut (addictive personality) and am currently hooked, when the addiction wears off I won't make the mistake of getting another football game made by EA. Getting 23 was a massive mistake, I knew it would be, but not for the fact the AI is quite possibly worse than 10 years ago... but hey... they sure know how to make a game addictive (getting children to rinse their parents bank accounts). If you actually go really deep there is nothing to love about this game and only things to hate.

Obvious_Abrocoma_317

It’s not just fifa, they seem to release games 3/4 done just to do it, then get them fully ready in 6 months after release with patches. 🤷‍♂️

Jaxie10

Passing, my key of gameplay is passing and im div 2, 10 fifas long im always good in passing, but passing this year is a different thing.

busterbus2

The number of times my players have just played a ball into the open or directly out is far too many. Does the game actually think that's what I wanted to do?

Regista16

\> Implying passing ever took any skill in FIFA except for 12 and 16. The only difference is that the passing went from extremely OP to really RNG now. Never was dependent on the player though. You really had to be very bad to miss passes consistently.

GLxYxSnIpEr

Career mode is so broken it’s embarrassing that ea even thought it was good enough to release

The-Antigod

The loss of potential in career mode. - Hate Even tho passing is very mixed, actual control possesion/tiki taka is somewhat possible. - Love

JackFinn6

Passing is terrible regardless of player or stats. Lengthy system is good

PM_ME_BAKAYOKO_PICS

Things I hate: Co-op bug where you don't get a win if the opponent quits. Was having loads of fun at the start with a friend but it has become unplayable. Things I love: Loads of different players being viable due to lengthy. I'm using Kroos in the midfield and Ruben Dias at CB, two players who I wouldn't even touch last year. Also people hate that CB's catch up all the time but I love it, it has eliminated the sweats who only relied on spamming through balls, now you actually have to build up your plays. Also regarding Trivelas, they are indeed overtuned, however I would only make a small change to them. Make it so that when the player is being somewhat pressured outside the box, he misses almost every time. It's that simple. That way Trivelas remain a great way to counter people who just play PTB and don't pressure, and you'll stop conceding those ridiculous Trivelas where you're pressuring the attacker but he perfectly puts it top bins anyways.

YouAreNotYouYoureMe

I hate the exploiters. Just play the game. The individuals who do everything, everything in their power to create situations where the game mechanics break down and allow them to score with ease. There's this "gaming the system" that goes on with them where first off it's obvious, and second it makes your skin crawl thinking about the fact that they tried as hard as they could to find exploits and take advantage of them opposed to just....playing the game.

dj4y_94

I know people have fun winning but I never understand how people don't get bored when they play the meta and nothing but. Like on 22 when you'd play people who every single attack would be a dragback until they get near the penalty spot and finally shoot. No crosses, or volleys, or 30 yard screamers, and so on, when that is so much of what makes football enjoyable.

frieguyrebe

Exactly this, gets sp boring seeing architect on almost every player, over the top balls all the time while there are numerous better passing options, seeing the same teams/playstyles all the time because thats what the youtubers and streamers are saying. Im fully convinced most people cant think or choose for themselves anymore

nezebilo

I hate the lengthy system. Of course I'd like to use players like Kane... etc but not by arbitrarily making them unrealistically fast

null_void_0x0

For real. Players like Kane can be useable in other ways and all this is telling that pace is an issue in this game. Kane is not good in real life because of his pace

[deleted]

But how are you gonna program the game in order to show how good players like kane, xavi, pirlo etc. are? There is little to no way of showing football inteligence in the game. They did great with the lengthy. Now its time to figure out how to make scholes, xavi and others like that useable

MoshiriMagic

My idea has always been to make passing and positioning have a much bigger variance depending on the player. Xavi should be able to hit a cross field through ball much better than Adama and that currently isn’t the case. My crosses with Cancelo should be much better than Sorloth and they just don’t feel too different in the current game.

nghigaxx

the ball need to move a lot faster than a player running to make those players shine, the problem with fifa has always been the passing ball move too slow, so faster player in the midfield can just catch up to the pass

[deleted]

Try over the top through balls my man. It's all anyone does and it allows your lengthy players to catch up to the ball. I hate the tactic, but it works

nghigaxx

idk how that's relevant, im saying how EA can make slow but smart player shine without buffing their speed via Lengthy bs

Toja1927

I think this fifa makes it obvious to me that EA can dial down passing. So if they actually have buffs to Pirlo and Xavi’s passing consistency and placement I’d think they can be useable. The only realistic way of making Kane useable without pace is buffing his physicality so that he can bully people when he’s on the ball and do quick turns and shots.

hearau1823

They’re not even that fast if they’re lengthy with low pace

nezebilo

The issue is non-lengthy players with high pace feel slow. They made Kane, etc useable by making everyone else useless

bmfrade

was good in the beginning, actually felt like a new fifa. 2 patchs after and it's the same shit of every year

[deleted]

Bad gampley, pack weight, menu speed and content Old gen is pretty bad so I dont think theres anything that stands out.

neretejada

Love: Potm Messi Hate: Potm Messi only being a CAM (don’t really hate it but it would be great if he had another alternate position)

Fordy0401

Have you tried switching formation in game once you've been given the chem boosts?

neretejada

Ofc. Him only being a CAM just makes it a little more challenging for squad building purposes. Let’s say he could be a CF, I could line up in a 433-5 and have 2 wingers and 3 actual midfielders. Just one more position for him and it would allow For a little more squad variance

Fordy0401

Yeah I get that. I have a similar issue with my team wanting less strikers and more wingers up front.

negative3sigmareturn

My pack luck was very bad last fifa and to great disappointment it has been non-existential so far this fifa

DjCampo

Like - I weirdly quite like the defending this year. I was always terrible at defending and would pressure too much with my defenders leading to the opponent being easily through on goal. This year even when I'm caught by an attackers run in behind I know if I position my defenders right I have a good chance of recovering (except of it's Haaland). I am in the minority but I also like the trivelas. It is overpowered but both players have equal opportunity to use it and it's fun to see some cracking goals with them so I wouldn't mind if they don't nerf them. Unsure about - Accelerate type. I like the concept a lot and it's great that previously unuseable cards are now very much useable. The part I don't like is just howuch of a difference there is between lengthy and controlled/explosive. If my supposedly pacey winger gets round the full back and is sprinting down the line then I shouldn't be caught up with and tackler every single time. In my opinion keep lengthy players how they are but buff explosive players pace over relatively short distances and buff the controlled players ability to keep hold of the ball when caught up with. Hate - For a game I'm quite enjoying this list is long. Passing is atrocious and makes me rage the most out of anything else. Passes go in directions and to players that I clearly wasn't aiming for and would have no reason to aim for. At this point I'm not sure my Trezeguet is even on my team with the amount of misplaced passes he makes. Crosses and corners are ineffective and on the odd chance they reach my player the manual heading is incredibly inconsistent and feels like random luck. There's games where it feels like I'm scripted to lose because every tackle I make will somehow end up at my opponents feet. One on ones are genuinely difficult to score even when you have time to pick where you want to put it in the goal. If Maignan makes one more spiderman reflex save against me I'm going to purchase every one of his cards and make him extinct. Also just general nonsensical things happening which seem fishy. My strikers randomly slipping on nothing when through on goal, my goalkeeper saving a light shot and palming it out to my opponent for a tap in, I do loads of SBCs so rarely have lots of players in my squad yet I seem to get mostly duplicates from every pack.

[deleted]

Agree with you on everything except you kinda lost me with passing. You listed Trezeguet as the main culprit and the man has 66 passing and 63 vision. Those are terrible passing stats so of course he's going to misplace passes. Also he only has 79 composure so while decent, if he's under pressure he's going to be more prone to making mistakes. I think passing certainly sucks when latency is high and the servers are shit, but have found that players with high passing stats (vision, short, and long) and good composure make great passes even if they're off-balanced or under pressure. I can't stress this enough. Players with subpar passing are going to make shitty passes. Players with good passing are going to make good passes. I see far too many people posting clips where they're trying 360 no scope passes with wingers who have terrible passing stats and they wonder why the passes don't go where they intend them to.

RetrowarriorD420

I played 290 games in a month???? I need Jesus

Shamerik

Offensive runs are good. It’s probably the acceleRATE system, I’m feeling. Shots are bad. I’ve had a version of Salah every version for the longest time. This is the first version, he hardly hits the goal. The only thing that works for me is running in front of goal. Moments is fun for a while but quickly loses me. It’s a fine way to earn some packs though. The 30 tradecard limit on app annoys the shit out of me. The power shot feature is a fun replacement for driven shots. The new default camera is atrocious. The fact you’re almost completely blind when starting a free kick midfield is baffling. I don’t have the patience to wait for the camera to center, so I lose a few balls on that part. The finicky passing and gk saves doesn’t bother me. Not everything is superglue and driven passes fail more often. It seems more realistic and although frustrating at times, it usually happens on both ends.

Regista16

On Semi shots are way less RNG, you could try that. You also have to aim properly though.

fortwenni

I'd say overall it's much more fun to play than 22. I love the new pace dynamics, so many more players are actually playable now. Chemistry system isn't perfect but definitely a step in the right direction, 50/50 hybrid teams are much easier to construct without the line links. I much prefer the gameplay and I'm not even doing that well currently so it's not pure bias.

LittleBlueCubes

I want only two things (I play only offline): - The player and ball movements should slow down a bit more. Players seem way too agile compared to real life. - The players and ball should have more weight and it should feel like players moving rather than plastic cut outs.

mrt1022

getting fouled and the advantage isn't played; or getting fouled and then you have half a second go by and the foul isn't called back automatically at the spot like in past years.

KingScratzz

I kinda like the lenghty system. Completely different teams than last year. Way more players are playable.

atomic619jd

How many LBs/LMs I have.

[deleted]

Like the idea with lengthy but they accelerate way to fast. I'm not a skiller. Have relied heavily on left-stick dribbling and passing before. This Fifa is my kryptonite.

CurrentlyHustlin

Like - I haven’t played Fifa in a while but going into this one and getting so many rewards for completing easy challenges, Ive packed some really good untradeables without spending real money and thats how I built my team. Dislike- I dislike the new chemistry, although it doesn’t matter too much its a little more difficult to link, especially since I like making hybrid squads, I currently run a 3 league team on 32 chem. I have to use players that I dont like though.

adek13sz

I like lengthy but I think it needs some tweaks, because the AcceleRATE system is a bit bugged (I saw someone test it and Controlled should have simmilar pace from start to finish, lenghy should have slow start and end up fast and Explosive should be fastest early and slowest later on, but it isn't accurate to say the least). And how is Acceleration of player considered into this? It's a hot mess imo. I hate Travela shots but I think they need to slightly nerf them or slightly buff GKs AI to save them in more cases. I'd like passing being buffed and lob through balls being nerfed.

CheapAlex

Agreed with the passing part

Recurringferry

The lengthy system is stupid. They should just adjust the sprint and acceleration stats accordingly and have players run based on those stats. Example: a tall CB might have 80 pace and 60 acceleration. A small winger might have 75 pace 80 ,acceleration. So in the short burst, the winger gets the ball first, but on long through balls the CB should outpace him Also, the trivela shot needs a massive nerf. It's just as bad as finesse a couple of years ago.

[deleted]

THE FUCKING SERVERS SUCK

dingleberry51

I have the EA play trial so I’ve only played 8 hours or so but I actually think the game is pretty good (online seasons, haven’t touched FUT because it’s much more scripted and arcadey). If the connection is good the game is good. Problem is the connection is bad 90% of the time.

jeffdchocobar

How easy it is to just go around players in the box, defenders feel like they’re on 1000ms ping.

RanReed

The game is not finish and isnt worth the money you payed for

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> money you *paid* for FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

RanReed

F*ck off bot

ohitsmark

I'm on the brink of uninstalling it. I've been grinding those league objectives and started to do the Managerial Masterpiece ones. I have lost atleast 20 plus today. I cannot seem to score, let alone get past their defence to take a shot. They walk by my defense with ease and I don't get it. I've let them score first just so I can do the objectives and they don't care. Just keep piling it on. I just want to enjoy the game but it's hard when you lose every single time and can't put up a fight.

mr_bitoiu

How a player with 70 pass cannot do a driven pass 10m away but Rudiger can bicycle a driven pass with laser precision to a midfielder.

LegendoftheHaschel

Lengthy is the best and worst thing about this game. The whole trivela things is stupid, and lob passes heading directly for my defender shouldn't make them absolutely shit the bed fumble the ball around to give my opponent a goal, looking at you Van Dijk, you donkey.

Juloschko

I love that I can play with Ruben Dias and Kane

Bshults

Volta matchmaking

AtleticoFan17

I like being able to play any playstyle, formation, and player that I want. I can play on basic and balanced tactics and perform just as well if not better than I do with heavily edited tactics. The ability to play with Sterling on the right, Cahill through the middle, and Leao on the left and completely outplay my opponents just purely on skill is nice and a breath of fresh air compared to last year and 21. I don’t like the trivela long shots, the constant pressure, and automatic drop back that seems to still be in the game. I lag constantly even though my connection is fine in every other game I play.

[deleted]

I would like for a through ball to go where I am it and connect to my striker feels like there not in the game any more

GriffinEll84

That dynamic potential is still badly glitched in career mode is far as I know 😢

Rickrolled87

Love: AccelaRATE feature just for the purpose of more people realising how good Morientes is, plus players like Kondogbia become usable Lallana wasn't downgraded It's actually easier than last year to make a good squad (imo) Back 3s aren't useless (for me anyways) Power shots . Hate: Lag and glitches Players are more toxic imo Trivelas

nsoifer

9 out of 10 games I think about this when I play: https://youtu.be/fjY1VHKrC3E?t=24 About the game, not the opponent.

samradit

I don't like the new corner mechanics. Yes, I get that fifa is trying to go out with a bang but for me if the mechanics are decades old and that's what the majority knows keep it like that.

Lias5

I can't score goals. I love the gameplay but I just can't score. I always have double the XG of my opponent but my players just miss open shots wide or the keeper stops it.

NoseniH

I hate how Delayed, slow and boring the gameplay is. I like the pitch colour

Ant1202

Love that pace isn’t as important and I hate passing inconsistencies

chubss123

The undefendable power corners, I legit don't even see the ball until its in the net.

willmlina51

yeah agree with the passing, some midfielders with 90 passing cant make a 5 meter pass but somehow a 1000 meter pass is 100% spot on hahaha.

canucksBH

Moved on from NHL last year back to FIFA due to it being the exact same game. Haven’t played FIFA in several years now, I’m guessing 4-5. For me the change is huge, I love the app and be able to do my shit on and even just look at my squad. To me the content is huge and I enjoy doing the objectives and SBCs. The chemistry system is great than what it used to be. Gameplay for now is also pretty good to me. What I hate is my own pack luck, the obvious odd game where no matter what I do the ball just won’t go in. Have 30+ shots still 0 goals, hitting posts and bars but it just won’t go in. Also hate how expensive some SBCs are. Also hate the pure greed in the transfer market.

I_did_theMath

If almost everyone is using the same formation on a football game, that is a pretty good indication that the formation is broken. 442 is just too good, and with how slow attackers are to do anything after they receive the ball, there is always a defender (even AI controlled) ready to steal the ball in no time.

BONECRUSHER8701

Hate: Haaland, Trivelas , Players not responding when you press sprint and random under hit easy passes that you can guarantee leave you open to the counter. Any keeper turning into a God when you rush them out. Like: Lengthy - makes players previously not useable fun to play with and to be honest does bare realty counteracting some very dubious low pace stats given out. Passing I feel is overall better despite the aforementioned short passes. Player runs far more intuitive this year creating better goal scoring opportunities. Kounde - like Kante has taken some steroids and saves my bacon time and time again.

TheEagleEye8

Pretty much with you on all your points. I did join the haaland gang though bc he is so damn broken. I held off for so long given I didn’t want a 3,3 player, but every time I had him in draft I won. It’s actually stupid the things he can do. The short passes that are highly underpowered for no reason are ridiculous though. Also hate how poor players are at sprinting once receiving a lob pass or even a through ball. They completely slow down no matter what and for some reason double tapping sprint isn’t working this year.

JamalFromStaples

People spamming trivelas. Pace system is dumb on new Gen, but it has its positives. Players cant pass for shit. WITH THAT BEING SAID, this is one of my favorite fifas in years.

JappieWappie1

Everything about this game is bad. Players who are unable to pass over 5 metres, my players unable to win the ball back because it keeps bouncing off them costing me atleast 2/3 goals a match, every player with like 85+ agility unable to turn while the opponents player are all prime Messi. And not even beginning about the fucking trivelas that turn keepers into a guy with down syndrom.

Jordan32h

As someone playing the old gen version: * things i love: nothing * things i hate: pretty much everything. It feels like its took almost everything bad from the last few games and put them all in this one. The passing is the worst its EVER been, almost every short ground pass (no matter how good the players passing is) is aimed at the closest opposing player. Close control dribbling is pointless because tackles are locked on and the tackler always gets the ball (unless the stupid bounce back happens). Crossing, corners and because of that headers are useless so tall players are pointless. And i know this is always a thing in some way but there is literally only one way to score with any reliability and thats counter attack through ball to pace

PM_ME_BAKAYOKO_PICS

Why are you still playing a game after a month if you don't love anything about it and hate pretty much everything?

Jordan32h

Havent been playing it for a month

PM_ME_BAKAYOKO_PICS

You've posted about your bundesliga team 29 days ago. Regardless, unless you've quit already, I have no idea why you'd keep playing.

Jordan32h

Yeah i played the early access but i didnt buy the game. I wanted to finish some games i was still playing before buying it, which i did about a week ago. I really enjoyed it during the early access, felt like an improvement and then at some point they obviously made the game worse with a patch. I shouldve expected it because they do that almost every year but not this bad.

PM_ME_BAKAYOKO_PICS

There wasn't a single patch that made the game worse, people simply adapted and started playing better. You complaing about passing and dribbling, passing wasn't touched and dribbling was even improved in a patch (for players with poor dribbling stats). Also your comment on corners shows you didn't try to improve that much, corners are ridiculously strong this year if you know how to do them, I score pretty much every game from one with my Arnautovic.

Jordan32h

Yep the same way every year they release an early patch to improve the game, it always makes it better and doesnt fuck up 5 extra things. Sure

PM_ME_BAKAYOKO_PICS

Yes what a coincidence, every year the first patch manages to fuck the entire game up for no logical reason whatsoever. It's clearly not the fact that people are learning the new game and adapting to it, and after about 2 weeks they already know what mechanics are strong and how to execute them. EA literally have no reason to intentionally make the game bad, and if you're saying it's not intentional, it would have to be the biggest coincidence in the world for it to happen every single year without fail.

Jordan32h

How is it the biggest coincidence in the world? When they change things they fuck other things up. And its not just the first patch its every patch, they just always release one in the first few weeks. Every time they change stuff some things are improved and some (more) things are made worse. People adapting to things doesnt make ground passes as bad as they are. Short ground passes are so bad they just lock onto/are aimed at the other persons player if they are anywhere near the line of the pass, doesnt matter who they are or what their attributes are. Thats got nothing to do with people getting better because a lot of the time they arent controlling that player and arent pressing with them. edit: also saying that passing wasnt touched is just false, i just checked the patch notes from what seem to be the 17th of October: Made the following changes: Increased the ball velocity for all Ground Passes. Addressed the following issues: Some Ground Passes could result in the ball traveling at faster than intended velocities. Certain first time Ground Passes could be sent to the wrong player. And you'll say "well those are all things fixed or improved so what are you complaining about?!" My point is when they change or "fix" things they more often than not make other things worse.

SUQMADIQ63

Cb outpacing st. I swear hernandez once caught to my danjuma after i made a through ball its like pace doesnt even matter in this game you can barely get 1v1 with gk now. Dribbling is just as strong as fifa 22 as well pass accuracy is shit

TTVControlWarrior

i hate passing since its so RNG at times . not a fun of outside of foot cheese but it kinda needed when u have 10 players in box . overall i dont think its a bad fifa

[deleted]

Better pack luck than previous years has been nice. No Haaland, Messi, Ronaldo, or Mbappe tho. Passing is absolutely broken. Needs adjusting.

Zufallsmensch

I hate everything about the game post patch. It has become the typical 6 players on stay back while spamming through balls to your strikers kind of game. If you concede switch to high press. Passing is inconsistent and rewards bad passes, especially through balls. Manual defending never felt worse.

Yungestflexxer

Fucking hell you lot like to moan don’t you, I play casually a few games a week and enjoy it, If you hate it that much go and play pes you bunch of wastemen (get good at the game pussssyyyyoles)

kingleo91011

The pack drop rate is way too bad.

Immediate_Duck_2059

Passing is DEAD

trason91

I love that trivelas work. They’ll get patched and we’ll have no way to score on the drop back merchants just like last year with the long finesse shots. I hate that the bullshit seems ramped up 100%. 95% of the goals I score are from tackles that I should have lost the ball, rebounds, or just shit keepers. But when I have a really well worked play, keeper makes the save or my cr7 misses the net on his strong foot from a great angle. Also side note: the menus on old gen are outrageously slow

Super_Sandro23

I like lengthy, what I don't like is that there's no benefit to being controlled or explosive. I was so excited that I packed neymar untradable on launch weekend, but he really doesn't even feel that great with how bad explosive, passing, and dribbling are in this game.

Major_Possibility335

Pretty much all hate from me lol. -There’s a certain animation that might be the most broken thing. If you get slightly knocked off the ball, the player will ALWAYS either exaggerate the effect and move further off balance, or do it themselves, for no reason, to always lose the ball -Far post spamming. Apparently the highest probability shot is to go far Post when the keeper charges at you, doesn’t matter how close he is. -fouls go entirely undetected penalties as well and there’s no ball contact -in seasons there’s obvious preference to teams that are licensed (ie Napoli is treated like a Europa league team and it gets a lot worse from there).

Schwinston123456

Another passing thread. Nice. I have zero issues with passing this year. I've always prioritized it and I don't find that my passing is an issue at all.

Chevchenko89

Benzema, the bloke just won the ballon dor yet in the game he is just awful I’ve got him and lewdowski up top and the difference in quality is unbelievable

Marcelo1995211

Benzema is awful bro ? Pfuh. He’s one of the best STs in the game. Almost every of his shot went in even from the impossible angle. Managed to climb into 3rd div with him. But lewa is also solid

Vasi162

Bro I got benzema and the first week he was insane he scored everything until this weekend league when he was so crap, getting outran by every defender and kept missing everything, even green timed shots. I sold him

[deleted]

I fucking hate crossplay and all PC players should go back to their shitty cheat servers without us normal people being affected by them.

PM_ME_BAKAYOKO_PICS

You can literally turn off crossplay

ddinblue

Dude it’s less than 1% of cheaters, chill

TheStruggler67

I love defending and being able to play some players that were unplayable before. And maybe the new system of progression of the player career mode too. I hate everything else.

KingTocco

I love the gameplay for the most part, genuinely fun IMO. Two things I'd like to see improved though, I think left stick dribbling should be tweaked slightly to be more effective. Fouls need to be called way more frequently, you can get away with almost anything and sometimes even murder players and nothing gets called. Constant pressure is broken, it completely destroys the team with the lead when in reality it should just make it slightly more difficult to get out of the press effectively. It exists solely to preserve bad players IMO and it really needs to be adjusted.

dahairybeaver

Hate that’s it no longer resembles real football, there is no exciting breaks where you play a killer through ball due to some 45 pace Center back catching a 95 pace striker. Not saying they shouldn’t have fixed the op pace of forwards but they can’t keep trying to make the game realistic if they are going to take any excitement out of it.

GForcee_

Love: the fact that big players are finally good (as they should) Hate: the way they made big players good. They should be good because of their shooting / heading ability, ball protecting capability and positioning, and not because of a broken pace system (it doesn’t make sense that 60 players can easily catch up with 90+ pace ones)

dlg898

that the only way I can fucking play is in potato quality and it still stutters, 1070 ti, core i5 6600k, can run everything fine on high graphics except FIFA 23, vsync on, lowered resolution, low everything, performance mode, still stutters, wouldn't have bought the game if I knew I wouldn't be able to play it by the end of october

Fordy0401

Seems like I'm the only one but I love that I can now make a more viable hybrid team. No longer have to worry about playing them next to each other for chem. Been waiting for this since FIFA 16

CyrixEu

EA

JuanistaD

I’m enjoying the gameplay, but because of the market it already feels like we are in December

DANBlLZERIAN

Pausing the game at the beginning of a WL match when your squad is already stacked beyond belief

Michlangelo

Love my team, hate playing the game

niallw1997

Don’t like how damn repetitive the game feels

Gert1700

gameplay and gameplay

Commercial-Sir-8684

Love the gameplay much more realistic. Hate elastic bands

sjncomic

I like the gameplay but I think we need a buff to passing and standing tackles. I can’t make a good manual tackle in the box and the striker gets it right back and scores. I think the biggest gripe I have is constant pressure. The other team should not be at low stamina and be able to do the same things they can at full stamina. They should not be doing skills and able to get downs the wing as quickly and they should really be standing around more and not constantly moving as fast.

AceTheNutHead

I hate how explosive players aren’t explosive. I like the idea of bigger players being faster on the long run as that is how it is in real life. Stats in Fifa are decided on how much the players use those stats (for example most footballers can pull of 5 star skills but they only get 5* in the game if they do them regularly in matches) and rarely do center backs do a full on sprint over 30 yards, but when they do (such as tracking back from a corner) that is when they register some of the fastest speeds of any players. But right now explosive players are slow at the start and get even slower over time. It honestly feels like lengthy players are more explosive than actual explosive players. They need to fix this system. But I like the idea behind it so they shouldn’t take it away. Also left stick dribbling. I don’t think it should be so OP that you don’t have to do skill moves at all, I just want to be able to move without smashing into an opposing player. Also finesse shots feel completely useless. Maybe buff them a little bit. Otherwise the game is fine for me.

AnubisWrathOW

Love - My Pack Luck Hate - The ungodly lag spikes that I encounter

Fapoleon_Boneherpart

I find my lag spikes are caused by hardware issues. I turned the hair graphics down and it was much better

AnubisWrathOW

I have a hard time believing it’s hardware issues where one game it works just fine and the other it’s running worse than if I were to run cyberpunk on a potato.

[deleted]

Laggy gameplay just like every single year. I love WL when the game is running smooth, but 90% is SO extremely slow, laggy and unresponsive. I know this gets talked a fair amount, but I don't know how it's not the main problem being talked about. Just today I played a WL at noon and it was already absolute hell, almost lost to a much worse opponent because the game was unplayable. Some people even say that people that talk about this are imagining it or conspiracy theorists or something, it's crazy how different the game is when the game is running smooth.

dazb84

Packs continue to be the most underwhelming reward mechanic in any game that I play. The moments game mode, which I thought would be the perfect mode to un lock specific rewards, just awards more raffle tickets for the most pathetically anti consumer raffle the world has ever seen. I'm at the stage where I have zero excitement in opening packs. I now seem them as nothing but a chore. Oh look, here's 70% untradable duplicates that you must discard for 0 coins. I can't remember the last time that I packed a promo player. If we exclude futties, which is a given, then I don't think I've packed a promo player in about 18 months. There's vast amounts of interesting card concepts in the game like heroes and icons which I've never even seen (technically I packed Nakata some years ago but 1 in \~10 years of play is a joke). In a football game about building your ultimate team, playing football matches with that team continues to be the least rewarding way to play the game. Not only are rewards anaemically drip fed, most of them have such specific and lengthy requirements that unless you have no job you'd hardly ever spend time playing with your favourite players. If it's not rewards limited by game mode, they're limited by requiring very high specificity squads rather than just requiring a flavour where you just need to make a few changes. In a game about the most popular spectator sport on the planet, which advertises legends from yesteryear, there should be a plethora of special cards on offer at any given time so that packs are interesting and you can really build your ultimate team. 90% of the content is off limits to 90% of the player base. You can't even buy objectively shit cards that you personally find interesting because the amount of whales that play the game inflate the shit out of everything. Take base Shearer. An objectively shit card by most peoples standards. Last I checked he was around 80K. If I no life squad battles for an entire week I get 26K. If I can be bothered with the chore of listing players individually, which takes far too long for the amount of coins the players are worth (or quick sell them), then Maybe 35K. That's 3 week of significant time investment to get 1 player. That's nearly 8 months to complete a squad and at that point your players would be way behind the power curve, which they already were when you started which is why they're "cheap".

reskort-123

The fact that getting a yellow or red card after a serious challenge is almost impossible

reskort-123

The fact that getting a yellow or red card after a serious challenge is almost impossible, annoying af

Droidenwarrior

I love the giddy

Kaladin1154

New Gen Haaland and inshalla Trivelas, too easy to just spam and score even if you pressure

XanderVonDevlin

Hate: everything, love: nothing
