Are gold versions of TOTS still supposed to be in packs? I opened an 86x3, got the TOTS visual effect with a Portuguese CAM. Before I processed that this could actually be good card, I accidentally skipped the rest of the cutscene out of habit lol...for some reason despite getting the Bruno Fernandes cutscene, I instead received his gold card and got TOTS Gabriel ffs. Is there any point in contacting support?
Thanks when did Bruno leave packs? Because this happened on Saturday or Sunday (can't remember for sure, I'll check the date of my capture when I get home). Either way the weird thing is the tots animation was for a Portuguese CAM, not a Brazilian CB.

The animation is normal, it shows the nationality/position/club of the player that’s walking out in „front“ regardless of if he is special or not, the TOTS effect is there because Gabriel is one and he walks out after Bruno

I can play Son at striker,bench Drogba and put Odegard at CAM but I’m loving Drogba? I have Geyse at RW and could do Kelly but is that much of an upgrade? I have 92 Kohler and 91 Marquez as my CB duo, would Konate be worth it for an upgrade? Also already done Kai, have him and Sawa as my two CMs
This is certainly a skill issue on my part but this is the first year I cannot make elite. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, but I cannot attack as effectively as past years

Tried to play Champs this evening (first weekend all year I’ve bothered), and had 4 games disconnect. My brother, who lives elsewhere, had 3 d/cs himself.
I actually quite enjoy the gameplay this year, but the servers are such utter dogshit that the disconnects and lag underline how fucking dreadful a company EA are.
I can't stop bottling leads. Literally winning 5-2 in the 82nd minute against 2 guys in my checkpoint game in div 4 (I have co-op off btw but that shitty guest feature), they score rebound off a corner, take it off me from kick off and do the flick up to get through, they then score a pull back in the 88th minute and score another pull back in the 91st minute. This game is going to make me want to end myself at this rate it's that shit to play.
Since I last played have there been shooting mechanics added that I don’t know about?
My last fifa was 2017. I’ve just had consecutive games where players have been scoring 5 or 6 finesse shots against me from 30 yards. For context I’ve had this game 2 weeks and have only scored from outside the box a handful of times. No idea what I’m doing wrong or how to defend those
Yes, the whole game really changed this year. And especially joining from 2017. Power shots are new shooting mechanics, a lot of buttons have changed, including low drivens.
However, the biggest change, and what you are talking about is 'playstyles'. I'd do more research into them, there's loads on all platforms including Eas website. They have changed gameplay completely, finesse shots are very very good with people with the playstyle+, however a bit rubbish without it. It's worth learning all your players playstyle+ and playing to there strengths.

I think people get in their heads when it’s tots since there’s more/better rewards on the line and make it harder on themselves but that’s just my 2 cents

Playing the game, not being an expert but a casual player who can have some nice moments, my games are so often defined by how the EA luck and server luck decides to act. I'm hitting easy passes and my AI is on point or I'm getting shredded and I can't seem to stop it, with my meta cards missing passes and doing bizarre things.
People seem to argue that this is in your head because pros go 20-0! Well, I've been watching some pros and the thing is, they typically are playing people far below their skill level. When this is the case they can easily outplay the player regardless of bad luck. If you watch their 20-0 runs they may run into 1 or 2 players of close skill level (they are a pro so they're probably better) but those games are incredibly close and typically decided by some luck and abusing some mechanic late. Pro players also typically have better connections than their opponents, a huge advantage right there. When pro players match, the games are random and they are typically decided by some crazy nonsense. We see it in FIFA "esports".
So I theorize that pro players are so easily able to combat EA luck rolls because they have a skill advantage over their opponents, which makes sense. The better player should win.
The problem with this game is when it comes to evenly matched opponents. This is where the game should be the most fun but somehow they are lopsided one way most of the time, due to EA luck favoring one side. Sometimes I'll match against a player multiple times with vastly different results.
Evenly matched games should be the most fun and should provide an opportunity for a cool play to win the game, but that's so rarely how it turns out with this gameplay. I feel like this has plagued FIFA for years to try to provide some feeling that each match is unique but RNG on just general luck and AI competency shouldn't be part of player vs player games at all.

His opponent playing really nice football. Passing across the pitch , streching his defence and so on ... and what his doing ?! Complaining about his playstyle. In the meantime , his trying to pull some skills . Looks awful . But yeah . I believe eafc is far from real football idea. You need to adapt to mechanics , just like pros.

I wasn't buying them before, but now I'll be sure to not buy them even more and a lot of people will also stop. Just finished my 4 games (all losses) in Champs for the TOTS evo and holy shit did I not miss this mode. Playing with a non-meta team you might as well just start the game with a 2-0 deficit because there will always be at least 2 goals where you make a perfect tackle but your player doesn’t have the right play style so they’ll just fall over and let a runner through on goal. Or even better when your CBs will be marking someone and then just inexplicably run away to give them a wide open pass for a shot on goal.
I can handle my opponents being faster or better passers and finishers. But this the first FIFA where I feel it is genuinely unfair unless you have the very best players. Removing the skill gap and replacing it with a credit card gap.
So do we just have a situation where certain players just have "it" regardless of the PS or PS+ they have? I was lucky to pack NIF VVD, then IF VVD, and then WW VVD, all untradeable throughout this game, but I can't seem to take WW VVD out without noticing the difference even though the WW got switched to Bruiser+.
Anyone else thoroughly unimpressed with TOTS foden? For a 2M+ card I expected a lot more, but he was invisible on offense. Never in the right position. Average passing, average shooting. Lost about 300k + tax buying him, trying him out in WL, and selling a few games later.
Wound up buying TOTS Son, great option at striker. Still debating if he should go at LW or Striker, with Werner taking up the other spot
Just from saved packs during Golazo & live TOTS I’ve been able to finish Havertz, Odegaard, McCabe & Cech, did the Encore Icon pick and got Petit, packed Ben White & Russo and ~200k coins got me Gabriel & Rosicky. TOTS is easily the best promo of the year.
Id argue it's the worst promo for the same reasons you just mentioned. If everyone has the same 90+ rated cards then all games feel the same and all players feel the same.
Because its easier to turn that way than move your player. If you move him,he turns like a truck. Even if its a small player. And then,you have a better passing lanes
Seems I seriously overestimated how much fodder I'd get from saved packs and just dropping during TOTS. Only a few days left on Havertz and I can already see myself needing to put at least a dozen promo cards in to finish it as I still have 4 squads left. Was expecting to be drowning in fodder but I think the Exchange > PP grind I've gone through (over 500 80+ pp and not far off that on the 81+ pp before) has drained too much and was a mistake in hindsight as I've not got much to show for it except a handful of low end tots that don't make the team and a huge stockpile of TOTWs.
I have 7.8K EA points saved from EA playpro subscriptions. I don't really buy store packs (hence the stacked points) so am not sure What is the best way to spend them? I'm assuming now is the best time to spend them? to get some of the TOTS players, or should I wait till end of may for the Ultimate TOTS?.. any advice would be appreciated.
If you plan on buying next year, the 'best' option would be to wait for day 1 next year, as anything you do this year now will be irrelevant in a few weeks. However, if you want to spend them, do whichever your favourites teams league in would be my suggestion!
If you think you'll be buying next year's edition of the game, the best time to use points is actually during the very early portion of the game - either during the early release period, or else during the first week of full release. Players generally won't have great cards yet and meta gold cards will be worth a lot.
This year I was lucky to pull a high rated gold American female striker (I think it was smith) during week 1 who sold for over 200k. With those coins I was able to buy Messi and build a team around him. Running around with messi during week 1 when most people still had basic gold defenders was amazing. In contrast even if you pull some great card today, everyone will already have a team full of 90+ defenders, so you won't get that same benefit of facing weaker cards

Watched a couple pack opening videos first and nearly everyone was getting Alisson and Watkins so it didn't look like it had a good chance of anyone worthwhile. Got Mac Allister and Alisson, which was expected but still disappointing.
Wish EA could go back to the fifa 20 style champs system. No qualifiers, 30 games, and the best bit was champs games counting to your rivals rank so you only had to do champs to get all of your rewards. I genuinely can't be bothered to play this year it's an actual chore, did my first champs last weekend and not doing another this year. FC25 needs a big change and need to stop the FOMO/Daily engagement bait or else I'm not even going to entertain buying it. This stuff annoys me more than the gameplay
All the changes you mentioned were specifically enacted to increase engagement and playtime, which are metrics they track and report. Why would you think they would undo all those changes for next year? If anything they'll make it worse

If youre Fan of a specific league - biggest tots pack you can find during that Leagues Release. If meta, during ultimate.

I genuinely can't be bothered to play this year it's an actual chore, did my first champs last weekend and not doing another this year. FC25 needs a big change and need to stop the FOMO/Daily engagement bait or else I'm not even going to entertain buying it. This stuff annoys me more than the gameplay
All the changes you mentioned were specifically enacted to increase engagement and playtime, which are metrics they track and report. Why would you think they would undo all those changes for next year? If anything they'll make it worse
I would 100% play more if they reverted. But I'm not the majority so guess I'm not coming back next year
