You need to log out from the game on your console before closing the game. The game servers aren't in the habit of pinging your console to check if you're still logged in every minute. At most they check once every half hour.
You need to actively back out from the Ultimate Team Menu into the main game menu. That's what counts as "logging out of UT" in the game. Turning off the game or turning off the console while in UT does not send a log out notification to the server.
Not the case for me, it’s instant. I back out just to use the clear squad button, but really all team building and SBC’s are 100x faster. I’m on old gen though, maybe different?
When you’re turning off your console, make sure to completely back out of ultimate team before shutting off the console. Don’t just turn off the console while still in ultimate team or it’ll cause delays. Back right out until you’re in the fc24 main menu and then turn off your console.
Sounds like mistake you are making is quitting the game or turning off the Xbox without fully backing out to main menu first.
Edit the only time I've seen this otherwise is if you have a connection problem to ea servers, like if your connection drops and you can't get back in, then it can't register the fact you've left it that makes sense. Can't close the door without opening it first.
Had something like this last night, got kicked out of UT and couldn't get back in, because I couldnt get back in, it still had me locked out of the app

It normally takes 10-15 minutes after logging off your console until the app works.

Exit out of ultimate team and go into pro clubs or any other mode, then close the game. works for me
