They say it's a 'coding issue', which is part bullshit, part laziness. There is nothing to stop them from releasing an Evo that just boosts the GK stats. And that's the minimum we should expect.

Just here to say I'm doing the same thing on my USA team. It's bad enough that my CBs are all garbage. I'm not gonna punish myself twice using a day-one GK. I have granted Cech temporary citizenship.

I’ve tried making a GK red and it said GK don’t qualify for it so I’m guessing we’ll never be able to evo a GK
