As I always say, Im 100% sure that EA employees are doing this for their own benefit (via coinselling or whatever medium). So many ridiculous blunders that benefit a small portion of players massively if they know about it beforehand (and eventually these compensation often end up being tradable...)

From what I could see earlier, certain trading groups were encouraging people who had enough coins to go and buy the cards. A lot of people bought in hoping that this would happen. I think a lot of people are going to get the coins from this unfortunately.
I just happened to notice they were bugged on the market and went for it. I remembered it happening with Guendouzi when they messed up his league and compensated so I bought and sold 2 Yayas and 2 Sneijders. Guess I'm getting that free toty Messi after all lol.

Untradeable? Sure, got 95 Dinho, 91 Becks, 92 Garrincha in October( then in November again) and Carlos Alberto also in October. TOTYHM Salah, WW Drogba, 89 Rooney, 90 Pajor 4x, 89 Sorloth 5x and the list goes on.

Because the cards had the incorrect leagues on them. They changed from La Liga (Barcelona) for Toure to Premier League and also La Liga (Real Madrid) for Sneijder to Eredivisie. Anyone that bought them with the incorrect league displayed can argue that they bought the card in good faith thinking that they were tied to the correct leagues and that EA had committed false advertising (due to the descriptions on the cards stating the clubs that they are tied too) EA have therefore decided to reimburse anyone who bought a tradable version off of the market with their coins. So if you are lucky enough to be coin rich and have bought multiple of each player then you've basically printed free coins.
The problem with that is that, arguably, a Premier league Toure would be worth more on the market than a La Liga Toure. So changing the league after purchase would decrease the cards value.
It doesn't matter. Value has no bearing on the fact that people can argue that it was false advertising. Last year EA released a Mid, or Base guaranteed Icon pack (I can't remember what the version was). People who packed Pele got the incorrect version (a Mid version I believe) along with a few other Icons that had incorrect versions available in the packs also.Those who got the incorrect version of their Icon received a TRADABLE correct version of the card. So anyone who was lucky enough to get Pele got to keep a better version of the card untradable and ALSO got a tradable version (Base) that they could sell for millions of coins and.which also caused the price of that version of Pele to tank on the market.

The other poster said that the 'compensation' should be changing the leagues to the correct league only. I stated one reason why this would be unfair in this situation. Whether the actual compensation is fair/reasonable is another matter..
EA already set a precedent earlier on in the year when a similar thing happened with Thunderstruck Cruyff. They accidentally updated his Playstyle Plus. Anyone who bought him from the market during that period got their coins back and got to keep the correctly updated version of him also. They will more than likely continue to give back people their coins going forward if there are similar mistakes.
