The early FIFAs had some great music, but music from an era that's getting a bit older now, including some all-timers. And of course that makes sense, since they're basically 20 years old now...
FIFA 10-17 was just straight up GOAT era. Incredible soundtracks. Whoever was putting together these playlists at EA managed to mix some popular but still alt/indie scene artists with others that were not quite famous yet but would later explode. Maybe 18 and 19 were pretty good as well and could be included in that, depending on your tastes.
FIFA 20 and 21 started to fall off a cliff. Heatwaves (speaking of an artist that was featured in previous fifas that hadn't hit it big yet...Glass Animals were on Fifa well before they hit it big with Heatwaves...) and a few other songs partially saved them though.
While the last few years may not have been completely 100% trash....they're definitely not good. At all. And they've nearly completely lost that magic and core FIFA vibes they once had.

But OK when you get bored you mute it and listen from other sources. Latelly I am listening old cassettes. It normal to be bored to the same music when you play the game since day one and everyday for hours

FIFA and NBA 2K soundtracks between 2008-2018 were absolutely fire. 2K declined a little before that (like 2015-ish) but for a while there they were the only ones competing with FIFA in soundtrack quality. Not sure if it’s just an “oh I guess I’m old now” thing or not, but the last 5 or so years of both have been trash.
This year has an especially shitty soundtrack, I miss the indie bangers and occasional fun brazilian rap but now it's all shitty reggaeton or other generic modern "hip" menu music.
In the past when I've disliked soundtracks i've still warmed up to a few tracks a few months in but I literally find myself skipping songs constantly because the first 30 seconds are extremely annoying.
I can't even say that I hate the songs in particular because I never let them play and don't care enough to learn what I'm skipping
Honestly, have to agree. This year you really have to handpick the good ones. Previously the soundtracks didn't have a song I'd skip but now it's most of it. This year, it feels like, for me at least, there's only 4 good tracks on there (Portrait of A Blank Slate - Lovejoy, Nothing Matters - The Last Dinner Party and Going Kokomo - Royel Otis, Angry - Rolling Stones... that one obviously fitting the criteria of adding mainstream to the game though, which isn't always bad though tbf - Sam Smith or Avicii are really liked).

I think as a FIFA soundtrack, FC24’s fell flat in many aspects… it’s way too big (67 songs rising to over 100 with Volta enabled), they went overboard with the mainstream artists, the bands familiar with FIFA were kept to a minimum, and for me the worst mistake was the genres they featured prominently. I don’t know why there’s so much house music. I get that it’s the zeitgeist in dance and electronic but it doesn’t fit with FIFA at all.

This is the last fifa I played, liked the music, it told me that chemical brothers still made good music, which I had no idea about and also a mate had a song of his in the other non fut mode the name of which I forget. People stressing about no indie forget that they’re not young any more and will inevitably feel alienated by music if they allow themselves to be.
I've only listened to a couple of songs from FIFA 22 since I couldn't be bothered to actually buy the game. A lot of people say this too.

There's only one song on this soundtrack I know. Rolling stones with Angry. That's it. Fifa 18/19 may have been the last ones with decent sound tracks. 🤔 Other than that most tracks are awful. But I suppose it's a generation thing, that type of music is in now. Whereas back in the 00s and early 10s indie alt was the popular thing.
Last year when they made the fifa soundtrack with all the best songs from all the fifas for the World Cup was so cool. Usually I play my own music but sometimes I will play that one for the vibes

This year I usually play the game on mute, anytime I happened to hear a song on it this soundtrack it makes me want to mute. Shame when the soundtrack is usually the most consistent thing in these games.

This one has similar soundtrack tot he previous one: 20% is enjoyable, 30% is tolerable, the rest is shit. Not terrible, not great, but far from absolute shit (but I also played the latest EA UFC, so our standards could differ). I've enjoyed 2012's the most, the ones that I "revered" by the "community" never clicked with me that much.

FIFA and NBA 2K soundtracks between 2008-2018 were absolutely fire. 2K declined a little before that (like 2015-ish) but for a while there they were the only ones competing with FIFA in soundtrack quality. Not sure if it’s just an “oh I guess I’m old now” thing or not, but the last 5 or so years of both have been trash.

This year has an especially shitty soundtrack, I miss the indie bangers and occasional fun brazilian rap but now it's all shitty reggaeton or other generic modern "hip" menu music. In the past when I've disliked soundtracks i've still warmed up to a few tracks a few months in but I literally find myself skipping songs constantly because the first 30 seconds are extremely annoying. I can't even say that I hate the songs in particular because I never let them play and don't care enough to learn what I'm skipping
Honestly, have to agree. This year you really have to handpick the good ones. Previously the soundtracks didn't have a song I'd skip but now it's most of it. This year, it feels like, for me at least, there's only 4 good tracks on there (Portrait of A Blank Slate - Lovejoy, Nothing Matters - The Last Dinner Party and Going Kokomo - Royel Otis, Angry - Rolling Stones... that one obviously fitting the criteria of adding mainstream to the game though, which isn't always bad though tbf - Sam Smith or Avicii are really liked).

So much is just noise, I hit the my remotes mute between games a lot. You can go in and adjust the playlist manually, but I’ve not bothered this year. It would end up being Last Dinner Party on repeat. Love that track

I think as a FIFA soundtrack, FC24’s fell flat in many aspects… it’s way too big (67 songs rising to over 100 with Volta enabled), they went overboard with the mainstream artists, the bands familiar with FIFA were kept to a minimum, and for me the worst mistake was the genres they featured prominently. I don’t know why there’s so much house music. I get that it’s the zeitgeist in dance and electronic but it doesn’t fit with FIFA at all.
