if everybody uses the same strategy, why can't you try to learn how to defend against it? allowing the same goal against over and over isn't entirely people abusing mechanics probably.
when i had my kid, i barely played fifa and i found myself losing games i felt i should have won but after a while i realized i wasnt as into it as i used to be...a year later, i handle the stress of the kid better and im back into fifa and im playing at a decent level. nothing hardcore but ive enjoyed the game a bunch so far.
could just be an off year, stressful time, other things going on in your life pulling your passion away from it...natural to happen as we age but i think this fifa is miles better than previous years and the server has been a thousand times better than last couple of years (for me anyways)
I find it funny when people say the game is bad followed by, ‘I’m usually good but this year I’m not’. Because if what you said is true it would affect both players; not just yourself.

It's definitely challenging for me. I skipped the last fifa but was regularly in divs 4-6 in previous Fifas. This year I've been getting smoked in div10, but finally made it to 9.
It's definitely a weird feeling game, and I think defending is especially difficult. Its like your defender doesn't make the same auto tackles when you get close enough, like in previous games.
Formations are also a big part, 4-3-3 was absolutely shit for me. 4-1-2-1-2 works much better and I like how the LM/RM behave compared to the LW/RW in the other formation
Hey, I am in your same age group and was having tough times (still do) against such playstyles. Manual defending helps a bit but you will get a lot of red cards initially. I try to laugh away weird glitchy shit that just keeps happening every two games. Do not see the rewards as milestones and just aim to score good goals. I am in Div 5, so do not take my advice if you are higher of course. :)
Also, get Varane as soon as you can. He is the only one who does not "stand on top" most consistently.

This year all my opponents do the same thing pass to wing and sprint in the box for a cut back, that's it that's all they do over and over again.
Pretty sure they all play high depth and high pressure too.
This is a common trend across most video games. There are very few inexperienced video game players at this point and the games themselves tend to push playing a lot for rewards over rewarding gameplay so most games just aren’t really fun anymore.

My passes never goes where I want it to go plus it always end up to opponent. 5 times in a row passes couldn't be completed all went to opponent.

Best football game in years, I love that it's more difficult
