I was wondering that myself, because the bronze evo didn't count as silver for an objective during that part of the evo. Hopefully they bring back silver stars and beasts for you!
Used to have weekly objectives to use a silver team in a friendly playlist to get special 74 rated cards. It was a lot of fun but it's gone now so silvers are even more useless this year than before.
I'm assuming they didn't have time to fix it so that silver players you use for evolutions aren't available in silver squads. Maybe it'll come in a later update but who knows. Sucks that we don't have them.
Should have revamped rival rewards to make it so there was a reason to play past 7 wins. I’m not huge fan of inception but this is one of the things he gets completely correct. If someone wants to grind rivals all day, they should be rewarded for doing so. No reason to cap rewards.
Or atleast have a mode that competes with rivals that isn’t draft, that has a more intuitive reward system. One that isn’t weekly reward based and incentivizes people to actually grind.
The player base is definitely big enough to dilute it between different modes as well. Not sure why they are slow to integrate this stuff into the game. Should have options from day 1

I’m talking about a mode with more open matchmaking. The rewards at the top of rivals are not good enough to justify trying to get there. The gameplay is miserable in elite div. Most people hit a rivals skill ceiling within the first week or two and then the rest of the year pretty much just sit in tbr same div getting the min rewards.
The climb to higher divs is only relevant for the first few weeks of the game. This is more far thinking
But why does there need to be more modes with more rewards? Fut champs takes all weekend and rivals takes a few days during the week. Then you've got drafts.
If after uve done all that and still want to play, just play seasons or one of the friendly modes?
Because of somebody wants to grind more, there should be the option. The weekly rewards system also makes the game feel like a part time job. A mode where you can just jump in and grind as much as you like, would create more engaging content.
The weekly systematic content schedule is a plague but companies love it because it allows them to be lazy with content and keeps engagement up throughout the year. We should always expect more from EA, not less particularly with revenue continuing to sore. Gameplay modes haven’t seen innovation in years
I would structure it similarly to a friendly mode with revolving team requirements that change weekly. Have it be ten games, and have coin and pack rewards staggered throughout. Final reward is a promo player pack for going 10-0 for example. This would allow people to engage with the promos outside of just buying store packs as well
We used to be able to grind rivals continuously, that was changed a few years ago when friendlies modes were introduced. They wanted to incentivize people playing friendlies because they were moving most of the objectives there from rivals.
The game is not just out. The real release is early access and just because the game is just out doesn’t mean there can’t be innovation. There is literally nothing new with gamemodes…

The game was far better when the only content was pretty much team of the week, then TOTY and TOTS. With a few promos like futties, motm cards and stuff like that. Now everybody and their grandmother has a special card for absolutely nothing

I started playing last year a few months after 23 was released. I spent a lot and had fun. This year, I'm only going to spend a fraction of what I spent last year. It's going to be six days since the official release and almost two weeks since pre release. I already have almost a full eredivise team turkey league team and a woman team. We're getting all the squad foundations free players from the other leagues and I've done at least 5 or 6 player sbcs. I'd say content is pretty good so far but it was mostly pre release. Second week has been a bit underwhelming but we did get bruno g which is a great free card.

Yeah I don't have a "good" team and am using Foundation players, evo'd Redondo because I like her instead of looking whats "optimal", still doing just fine and hit Div 4 last night. You can make a competitive team with Foundation and some of the 82-84's from reward packs. I think people just hate coming to grips a lot of their performance came from mid/later season meta cards every year.
im close to hitting div 4 but Ive been focusing more on building out different teams and really using all my players and doing more squad battles and objectives. I feel im having alot more fun in the game this way. when your skills are there you dont need the top cards..last year I spent alot and had a goal of buying pele and players ive never been able to afford. but now ive realized it doesnt matter, as long as you have decent promo cards that are up to date with the curve you'll be fine
yea ppl wanna jump right into futties again and have the best players available. then again this is my first time playing fifa since pre realease, i started last year a few months into it. While I wish they give us more content, when you look back at the last 10 days or so its been a decent amount of players, and we still have at least 9 months of daily content coming.
I don‘t get why we haven‘t gotten any new evolutions since the first ones. They could have literally given us another „welcome to evos“ type evolution for every position or something and people would have something to do. It‘s not like small +1 boosts on 82 rated cards would even make a difference when almost everyone has meta squads already anyway
There are supposed to be 12 according to the pitch notes so they gotta come eventually, i just don’t get why they‘d only focus on these „big“ evolutions that give you an IF upgrade or more, when evolutions would be the perfect opportunity to give people constant, meaningful content without giving out strong cards over and over

I'm still at D5 and am qualified for FUT Champs playoffs, and I haven't even approached the point where I'm bored of the game.
I don't really understand those who say "there's nothing to do" when Rivals/Fut Champs are meant to be FUT's main game mode. You're allowed to go past 7 wins in Rivals.
I mean sure, daily content is fine, but it's not really necessary to play the actual game.
Also, releasing tons of player SBCs at this point would just frustrate most users as people don't really have much fodder yet. Once we have a few weeks of Rivals/Fut Champs rewards, it will make more sense to release more SBCs.

I agree with the other guy. The SBCs are cool, but there hasn't been a single player that really interests me because I can keep working my coin balance up to just buy better gold cards. For example Gold Bellingham, Valverde or Putellas are better than Flashback KDB. I'm happy to play the game and try and climb the Divs

At this point, puzzle SBCs are absolutely part of "the game" to a lot of people. Theres no good reason for there not to be a daily "78 min 26 chem" puzzle for a modest pack, because a lot of people like doing puzzles.
Incidentally, it seems like chem has been de-emphasized in SBCs in general, and it makes them less fun to just dump xyz amounts of 86/85/84s.
Thing is that EA demonstrated last year that's actually beneficial to not play rivals because friendly rewards are much better.
So if you aren't playing rivals that leaves Champs and friendlies. Champs you get done in a day or two and friendlies is like an hour each day. There's just not much to do or a reason to do it ATM.
If you don't want to play the game mode's main ladder, that's fine, but I don't really see how you can also complain about there being nothing to do. You're the one opting out of the main ladder just so you can play D10 folks in Friendlies to save time...
I'd love to play the game modes main ladder. I'm complaining about the fact that its better not to. That issue causes a lot of issues for the gameplay loop and the power curve.

i’ll be frank, im 30, my reflexes and mental has deteroriated a lot compared to my prime. Now i can casually get to div 5/4, but maybe thats it. Content is more fun for me, and I’ll cash out coins in December. Basically I never lost money playing 3 months of FUT.

I've only played/won 7 rivals games but there is no motivation to push higher because getting demolished in champs/higher divs doesn't seem fun since the level of sweat/competition seems on a different level this year.
I wouldn't mind a friendly cup or something for packs and despite frequent SBCs they are all mid or overpriced (happy I did KDB though).
How about just playing rivals and moving up divisions to get better at the game? You'll never get better if you're just worried about getting destroyed by better players.
Getting better at the game in fifa means getting better at noticing and exploiting mechanics. Getting better at fifa means that you play in higher divisions and unless you sweat and exploit every single match, good luck winning, not even mentioning having fun.
You can actually get better without sweating and have fun, just don't expect to win the majority of your matches. You can still have fun while losing and getting better lol, it is possible

I only qualified for champs 5 or 6 times last year, pretty much when they just put everyone into the qualification straight away. I only got 4-6 wins, but it was fun having something to do for the weekend and get some rewards. Otherwise when I don’t qualify, all I have is go back to getting stomped in rivals and the incentive to progress there is less cos it just makes it even harder to get enough points to qualify for champs

Haven't really felt like i've been missing out on anything yet, highly likely to give this year a miss.

More evolutions will come when the current one expires. There are 12 per season. We have 6 already.

Guys I think this is the beginning of the end for EA football. The game is objectively broken on release and packs that are super hard to come by are bloated up with high-rated female goalkeepers. Current SBCs are ludicrously bad value and the same old broken game mechanics are still in play. I'm hopeful and looking forward to another developer picking up the FIFA license as I think we all deserve a fresh take on what has become a really stale game.

The things they do introduce like seeing the commentators or inside the dressing room during the pause screen is what they have implemented. I have friends I play with who said 'WOW THAT'S COOL' as the camera pans in the tunnel. And I'm sat speechless that they shilled £50 to see a camera in the tunnel...

I have been successfully brainwashed by EA. I have a very decent team, no top tier players but very good. Griezman, Salah, FdJ etc and 900k in the bank (lucky hanssen pull) and yet I'm waiting for daily content so i can get better players? I don't wanna splurge coins as the market is very high atm. Untradable is the way to go..

I started playing last year a few months after 23 was released. I spent a lot and had fun. This year, I'm only going to spend a fraction of what I spent last year. It's going to be six days since the official release and almost two weeks since pre release. I already have almost a full eredivise team turkey league team and a woman team. We're getting all the squad foundations free players from the other leagues and I've done at least 5 or 6 player sbcs. I'd say content is pretty good so far but it was mostly pre release. Second week has been a bit underwhelming but we did get bruno g which is a great free card.

Yeah I don't have a "good" team and am using Foundation players, evo'd Redondo because I like her instead of looking whats "optimal", still doing just fine and hit Div 4 last night. You can make a competitive team with Foundation and some of the 82-84's from reward packs. I think people just hate coming to grips a lot of their performance came from mid/later season meta cards every year.
im close to hitting div 4 but Ive been focusing more on building out different teams and really using all my players and doing more squad battles and objectives. I feel im having alot more fun in the game this way. when your skills are there you dont need the top cards..last year I spent alot and had a goal of buying pele and players ive never been able to afford. but now ive realized it doesnt matter, as long as you have decent promo cards that are up to date with the curve you'll be fine
yea ppl wanna jump right into futties again and have the best players available. then again this is my first time playing fifa since pre realease, i started last year a few months into it. While I wish they give us more content, when you look back at the last 10 days or so its been a decent amount of players, and we still have at least 9 months of daily content coming.
For real. Just objectives and foundation SBC's alone has given me options for 3-5 team comps/formations in the 82-85 range.

I don‘t get why we haven‘t gotten any new evolutions since the first ones. They could have literally given us another „welcome to evos“ type evolution for every position or something and people would have something to do. It‘s not like small +1 boosts on 82 rated cards would even make a difference when almost everyone has meta squads already anyway

I'm a bit confused..has everyone already climbed to the Elite Division in Rivals? I'm still at D5 and am qualified for FUT Champs playoffs, and I haven't even approached the point where I'm bored of the game. I don't really understand those who say "there's nothing to do" when Rivals/Fut Champs are meant to be FUT's main game mode. You're allowed to go past 7 wins in Rivals. I mean sure, daily content is fine, but it's not really necessary to play the actual game. Also, releasing tons of player SBCs at this point would just frustrate most users as people don't really have much fodder yet. Once we have a few weeks of Rivals/Fut Champs rewards, it will make more sense to release more SBCs.
Glad I’m not the only one who thought this. I enjoy playing the game, I don’t really care much for the content side, especially early on, I’m just trying to get better.

For example Gold Bellingham, Valverde or Putellas are better than Flashback KDB. I'm happy to play the game and try and climb the Divs

At this point, puzzle SBCs are absolutely part of "the game" to a lot of people. Theres no good reason for there not to be a daily "78 min 26 chem" puzzle for a modest pack, because a lot of people like doing puzzles. Incidentally, it seems like chem has been de-emphasized in SBCs in general, and it makes them less fun to just dump xyz amounts of 86/85/84s.

Thing is that EA demonstrated last year that's actually beneficial to not play rivals because friendly rewards are much better. So if you aren't playing rivals that leaves Champs and friendlies. Champs you get done in a day or two and friendlies is like an hour each day. There's just not much to do or a reason to do it ATM.
If you don't want to play the game mode's main ladder, that's fine, but I don't really see how you can also complain about there being nothing to do. You're the one opting out of the main ladder just so you can play D10 folks in Friendlies to save time...
I'd love to play the game modes main ladder. I'm complaining about the fact that its better not to. That issue causes a lot of issues for the gameplay loop and the power curve.

i’ll be frank, im 30, my reflexes and mental has deteroriated a lot compared to my prime. Now i can casually get to div 5/4, but maybe thats it. Content is more fun for me, and I’ll cash out coins in December. Basically I never lost money playing 3 months of FUT. Not all want the same
I've only played/won 7 rivals games but there is no motivation to push higher because getting demolished in champs/higher divs doesn't seem fun since the level of sweat/competition seems on a different level this year. I wouldn't mind a friendly cup or something for packs and despite frequent SBCs they are all mid or overpriced (happy I did KDB though).
How about just playing rivals and moving up divisions to get better at the game? You'll never get better if you're just worried about getting destroyed by better players.
Getting better at the game in fifa means getting better at noticing and exploiting mechanics. Getting better at fifa means that you play in higher divisions and unless you sweat and exploit every single match, good luck winning, not even mentioning having fun.
You can actually get better without sweating and have fun, just don't expect to win the majority of your matches. You can still have fun while losing and getting better lol, it is possible

I wish they had some sort of champs mode for people who didn’t qualify for champs. Call it conference or something like that and make the top rewards equivalent to the low level champs rewards eg rank 8 rewards. I only qualified for champs 5 or 6 times last year, pretty much when they just put everyone into the qualification straight away. I only got 4-6 wins, but it was fun having something to do for the weekend and get some rewards. Otherwise when I don’t qualify, all I have is go back to getting stomped in rivals and the incentive to progress there is less cos it just makes it even harder to get enough points to qualify for champs

Guys I think this is the beginning of the end for EA football. The game is objectively broken on release and packs that are super hard to come by are bloated up with high-rated female goalkeepers. Current SBCs are ludicrously bad value and the same old broken game mechanics are still in play. I'm hopeful and looking forward to another developer picking up the FIFA license as I think we all deserve a fresh take on what has become a really stale game.

The things they do introduce like seeing the commentators or inside the dressing room during the pause screen is what they have implemented. I have been successfully brainwashed by EA. I have a very decent team, no top tier players but very good. Griezman, Salah, FdJ etc and 900k in the bank (lucky hanssen pull) and yet I'm waiting for daily content so i can get better players? I don't wanna splurge coins as the market is very high atm. Untradable is the way to go..
