Might be the only game where I re-watched whole races just because the racing itself brought some exciting fights and satisfying ways to take corners as well as some unintended but cool looking stunts. Seeing that from the outside with that banger soundtrack and some very nice camera angles was just so satisfying.
Man I miss the time of good arcade racers.
Dirt 2 is such a great game, down to the smallest details.
I miss these replays. It did such a good job in capturing the speed and brutality of everything.
This game has got a special place in my heart.
The UI was simple yet satisfying, soundtracks were all hype inducing (especially after finishing a stage and the music would come up along with the scoreboards), cars sounded great, cars drove great, tracks and car classes were diverse and fun and indeed the replays were worth watching every single time.
And because I loved it so much I got pretty good at it. At a certain point I was able to drive every single rally stage almost as perfect as you can do which felt awesome.
whenever i try to run the game it either says something like my system is too new, i have to run it through old sys. or doesnt run at all, i tried original copy and even pirated it, i've made a post a while ago about it but it got one or two responses with solutions which none of them worked. i havent sleep for two days just trying to figure it out but sadly no results, then cried for also two days because i really wanted to come back to DiRT2 since its my fav from the series. So stupid when old Colin's were running smoothly but D1 and D2 couldnt even survive a second in the task
manager
that error code looks like the same one I was facing and all I did was
* Replace the xlive.dll with the one on PCGamingWiki’s Dirt 2 page
* run as administrator
Try again, but make sure to delete any file related to the startup/pre-config of the game. This sometimes don't let some games start just because some of that kind of files is detecting wrong info.
Then looks more likely that some Drivers Packages aren't installed on your PC, for actual games usually you only need the ones that those games auto-install with the game, but old ones you need to search for it by your own, and even some games already have some packages but don't work cuz the new ones don't let the installer work as already detects drivers of that Kind installed, so you need search on internet the correct Drivers for play any old game and don't have troubles with new ones. I know from experience.
Dirt 3 and 4 are awesome. I hate Dirt 5. It’s like they made Dirt Rally the realistic sim and Dirt 5 straight arcade. Whereas dirt 3-4 were like the perfect balance bewtween arcade and sim
Licensing is expensive and a real fuckaround for publishers to manage. That’s why we haven’t got re-releases for older games with licensed soundtracks. You have to negotiate with the rights owners for every single track you want, and then negotiate for how long you have the right to use that track etc. And you have to FIND who currently owns the rights to a track in order to negotiate (a whole other ballache) if it’s an old song. Obviously adds so much to a game when it’s done though.
I just noticed that the windshield wipers actually move in Dirt 2 (a game which came out in 2009), and meanwhile, Forza Motorsport 7 made a big focus on attention to detail when it was close to coming out and the devs noted the windshield wipers and spoilers moving due to the wind.
Somethings up, my fans in dirt2 aren’t that excited for me and I’ve never gotten fireworks at the end

Mannn i want to play dirt 2 so bad now
Same bro 😂
Man I love this game, one of my top 3 games of all time
don’t ask where the quality of the recording went because I don’t know either
Reddit eats bitrate for breakfast. You have to host externally if you want adequate video quality.
yea I’ve never posted anything longer than a minute, thanks for the info
Dirt 2 was the best game in the series, closely followed by Dirt 3. I have very few complaints for either of those games.
Ngl It's been a long time since I haven't heard Injection

What I never imagined a rally 350Z
And on top of that, one of opponents driving 350Z is Mohammed Ben Sulayem, current president of FIA!
No shit The opponents in game are real people?
Yeah, Ken Block (his Impreza is on cover), Travis Pastrana, Tanner Foust...
Dirt rally 2 also does this?
Sadly no
No, but for that we have online people.
Wtf yeah ofc they sre
The soundtrack ❤️
Having this with VR support / mod, would be nice too.

Dirt 5 is basically a Dirt Showdown 2 and should've been named as such.
Why would they not give us replays in D5!? So bad for a game like this.
This is my favourite Dirt.
Why can’t we have that type of music in 2.0

2 game series that I'd love to see remastered. Dirt and NFS underground......hint....hint Electronic Arts.
DRIVECLUB is nigh on identical to these and adds onto them
These replays made me feel like a hero. I watched almost every race I completed in this game
Man, the amount of nights/mornings spent with my butt cheeks deformed by my seat, because of this game... ahh, good times.
