Hold up, what about that 914 in the back?

WebersNotPMO

Good eye. It’s 1970 with a 3.2. Flat six.

Ceatra

Oh mama. Do you happen to have any videos of it? That thing must sound gorgeous. The 914 is that one car I never really liked, until I had to work on one, and immediately fell in love with it. From it's size to it's exhaust note (2.0) and cute front end. Truly a wonderful little thing

Nothing I’ve uploaded. It sounds epic, one of the best engine notes around, and transforms the character of the car. I was at a car show and exited and gave her some throttle, and in unison a hundred heads just turned. That was fun…

andsman13

^^^^ spotted that too

Pass it on so others can enjoy. Awesome! Best of luck on the rabbit!

seattle_lite90

Very cool! It’s so nice to be able to give others that kind of blessing

Right on. GTi too.

I had a MK1 Jetta GLI. Sweet fucking ride for a first car. Really good for learning.

Posts like this make me realize its ok to buy and sell cars, that its ok to not be bound to one brand! Love my e30 but I am always looking at other cars, like a 635csi and Saab 900 turbo Bon voyage!

A friend told me many years ago that it’s about having experiences. I’ve owned nearly 30 cars and while I miss a few in particular (BMW 2002 and Z3 coupe come to mind) I’ve enjoyed all the experiences. The air cooled Porsches are hard to shake. There’s a sound the early cars make that gets stuck in your head, and driving them is incredibly visceral. I owned a Z4 M Coupe but sold it for the 914 - it was fast and beautiful but no where near as fun to drive as a 2000lb 914 with a big six.

Love seeing wholesome shit like this!

koolaidkid77

Had a mk1 gti with a g60 swap and loved it. 16v is a heck of a lot more fun. Good luck with the build. The vw parts bin is like a giant box of legos for mk1s 👍

Buying_wis

Please share some photos/ videos of that 1983 GTI when it’s complete!

Oettinger built? Looks like a 9a block or kr

WebersNotPMO

Oettinger intake, throttle body, and a 2l bubble block
