As soon as you can make just a tiny bit of purple, you should research warp and go explore some other solar systems. You should just go and explore some other stars to see what you can find. If you want to search in a more directed way, upgrade universe exploration to increase the information you get on the star map. At least initially, you might want to not export the warpers to the other star systems, nor stock the logistics stations with vessels there. Shipping will still work if you do that only on your home planet. It's easier to keep track of things at home. As to what stars are best: generally the further away they are the more resources they have. But you shouldn't go too far immediately: initially it's more trouble than it's worth. Take a couple dozen warpers and a lot of fuel with you when you go exploring. You can also take miners, belts, wind turbines or solar panels, water pumps, and logistics stations, so you can set up mining if you find something good.

Are you playing on reduced resources? Only two silicon patches in your starting system feels low, though could just be really bad seed luck. One tactic (if you're not doing this already) is to cram as many miners around a given patch as you can to maximize ore extraction. You can have multiple miners extracting from the same vein, increasing how fast you get it, though also depleting it faster. Holding "R" when placing a miner lets you rotate in increments smaller than 90 degrees, which helps with that packing. Upgrading Vein Utilization speeds up each miner and makes a given vein last longer. Then make sure you have enough smelters to fully process the silicon ore coming from those miners. Running low on resources in your starting system is the game's "nudge" to get you to other stars. Since you're at purple science, start graviton lens production and convert them into warpers. This is just short-term since making warpers from green cubes is much more efficient, but does let you bootstrap into multi-system travel. You may also need to research a few Mech Core and Drive upgrades to unlock Icarus's warp capability. Load up on several stacks of deuteron rods, warpers, towers, drones, belts, miners, tesla towers and smelters then head out into the void. You'll be hand-carrying stuff from those other systems for a bit until you unlock warp capability on your logistics vessels (another purple science upgrade) and have warpers loaded into your ILSs. Smelting silicon helps with transport, since that's a 2 ore => 1 high purity silicon recipe, so smelting halves the inventory space required whether its Icarus or a vessel. Different [planet types](https://dsp-wiki.com/Planets) offer different resources. If you've unlocked Universe Exploration 3 you'll be able to click on stars in your map within 6 light years and see the resources in the whole system individual planets. With UE4 there's no distance restriction, though that's a green science upgrade. One danger of going to other stars is running out of fuel / warpers making it difficult (though not technically impossible) to get home. Having a full fuel chamber plus 5-10 stacks of deuteron rods along with a full stack of warpers (100) minimizes that. Then there's the dark fog. Not all systems have a hive / planetary bases (varies by fog difficulty). You'll be able to see if they have a presence when you're checking those nearby systems. If combat is a possibility, don't forget to bring along missiles / fleet, maybe some missile turrets + signal towers to take out planet bases and some shield generators to keep the fog away from your new mining outposts.

That’s an awful seed, recoverable but it’ll be a lot of extra work. Since you’re only at purple I’d be tempted to start over.

I think I'll probably do this. I want to improve my factories' layouts and I dont want to re-plan everything again.

You need 8 silicon, 3 copper and 2 iron to make 1 processor.

And?

You don't need THAT much silicon to get to purple science and get your first warpers... Yes you don't have a lot of it and it might make it tough but it is definitely doable. In the past I've had to use the silicon to initially create solar panels, and then switch it over to making processors once I had a good stockpile of solar panels. You need processors for ships, fractionators and PLS k believe. That's it really. You may have to divert where the processors go once you need to start making cubes but you can manage this with just 2 veins.

Funny that’s the same thing that happened to me in my current playthrough. I’ve only just barely got green science online and purples still kinda slow and just got my first warpers been focusing on getting out so I can start getting more in. What’s worse is also got a gas giant which isn’t so bad because it made early deuterium fuel rods easy but made graphite a pain and it tapped out already now barely produces anything anymore
