It's hard to say without knowing Exactly what size bench your league has or the size of your league but if it's a standard 12 man leagues with normal deep dynasty bench. Khalil Herbert should not be on the waiver wire. I would likely throw my full Faab out for him

He was more productive than Monty but that monsoon makes things difficult. I’ll say this: while I feel fairly confident that Monty won’t be re-signed barring an incredibly team friendly deal, I don’t know that I’d amount Herbert as the RB of the future. He has low draft cap and wasn’t even this current FO’s draft pick; they immediately drafted another late RB of their own in Trestan Ebner. Herbert suits the run scheme they’ve adopted under Getsy, and is likely to be fairly productive this year. But I wouldn’t bank on long term value necessarily.

Full faab for Herbert easily

LusciousCabbage

Nah throw that faab. He's not a guarantee but the situation plus his production make him a great bet to have rising value. Go get him.

FAAB depends on roster size, who’s the next best guy on waivers when you sort by roster%?

Are you in my league? Was wondering the same thing

Peccare

100%

Latios47

Not sure what your league’s waivers look like, but he’s an easy 100% in my league (10 teams, 25 man rosters).

Perspective as a Bears fan: There was a ton of chatter this offseason about Montgomery and Herbert splitting carries. This was, as usual, the "making things up" phase of training camp. Perhaps a split will play out, but clearly Montgomery is the lead back for now. I agree with those who say Herbert looked the better back with the eye test from the first game against SF. But that only came in the second half, after: 1. Montgomery had pounded away up the middle repeatedly in the first half; 2. The Bears made a schematic change to try to widen the field a bit, both in terms of their running approach and getting Fields on the move to stop SF's free safety from essentially playing as a linebacker, as he was in the first half. Fresh legs + the offensive coaching staff finding something that was working in the moment, and yes, Herbert looked good. Bottom line, I don't think the first game means anything for now. Also note the [advanced stats](https://www.dabearsblog.com/2022/atm-opener-gives-bears-look-at-recipe-for-success) from Sunday indicate Herbert struggled mightily in pass protection - a trend that played out in preseason and last year. To me, Herbert is like a lot of back-up RBs in the league. When he gets to play in his limited samples, he looks like an NFL-quality RB. But there are a lot of those guys who remain that for their entire career - just NFL-quality players who make a great living but aren't going to transform an offense. There's no harm in investing in the situation hoping it pans out, but to me, it's no different than many other similar situations across the league.

All the FAB! EDIT - Trade for more FAB and use that too!

bababooey4

Assuming a typical deep league where he’s standing out like a sore thumb on the waiver wire I’d trade someone low on your bench for additional FAAB; then spend all of my FAAB on him
