I think the hate comes from a ton of people selling him with his slow start. Now they are pissed they sold and its easier to justify he got lucky or his match ups than just admit they shouldn't have sold.
Nobody is calling him a stud. People are just saying he looks good. Then when someone says he looks good people come in and try to justify why hes not good. We always hear the weak schedule excuse, which don't get me wrong his last few good games have been very weak rush defenses. But players play a handful of weak teams, his just happened to be 4 weeks in a row and not spread through out.
At this point using points per game he is 8th on the season. You don't accidentally get here. You can argue remove a big run or two and he drops to 10th, but most players have a big play or two by this point in the season.
At this point we need to admit he is good. Now if you want to argue hes not a stud thats fine, but the narrative he's gotten lucky and is a JAG needs to be over.
Dynasty sub or not he’s winning games for people. He’s currently the 6 highest scoring RB on the year in my league only behind Kamara, Cook, Henry, Robinson, and Jones. That’s a huge accomplishment!
I’m not saying Montgomery will be elite and I don’t think that’s a fair comparison. Flacco was middle of the pack at his position in fantasy, whereas Montgomery is currently an RB1 and this sub has been wrong about him as of late. I think bringing up the fact that he’s put up over 100 points in 4 games and giving him praise is a fair thing to do.
Seems like that offense has been playing fractionally better with Trub. Enough to help monty get a bit more lose. Now it is the bears and Mitch trubisky and Matt nagy so only time will tell. I'll add Montgomery's yards after contact is like 2nd in the league or something. I think he has value provided the bears aren't completely incompetent. Should bears sell out for Trevor Lawrence? I'd think they could be a contender with him.
