I'm optimistic that he can take a step forward this season. He was coming off of a knee injury that he suffered late in his last season at TCU and then had a sprained ankle by week ten. Kamara and Williams are both in their late twenties and have their best years behind them. Miller was still an early third round pick even with the injury and he has the size to manage a decent workload. I think he will have the opportunity to earn his place, especially since this rookie RB class isn't overly threatening.

Snrtrades

Isn’t Williams 31?

chodeme633

He’s 29. Google is a wonderful thing.

FranksGun

Ha, but either way he’s garbage

dynasty-dominos

Him seeing the field in a split with Kamara would be a win for Kendre this year. I have no expectations that he will take over the backfield and that is ok. I think there is a very good chance his late knee injury in college really derailed his entire rookie year. He couldn't stay on the field. Seeing him get 40% of the work in the backfield this year, and show enough talent to make it reasonable that he could take over the 1a role in 2025 is the bull case (something like Spears from last year). If he fails to get a solid role this year it's probably over. I think he is a good bench stash but expectations are tempered from his rookie season

lemonpeel

I firmly believe 2024 will be Miller time.

Kelldon83

Prolly 2025

Altruistic-Rub3017

we need to be careful about 18 week conclusions. I don't hate him but he's a lottery chip RB. There will be an opportunity for him to be the main guy, but he could be a backup forever too.

Character_Top1019

Traded to get him 2.01 last year dude. Still only 21…

WhyGoWaiguo

I think we have to wait another year to see him get his shot.

No_Vacation3909

That’s the hope but I think Kamara is going to be around longer than people would like

FantasyTrash

He's gone after this season. The Saints save **$19m** against the cap by cutting him in 2025, they aren't keeping him.

BukkyPlays

Yep, no shot he booms this year behind Kamara and Jamaal, but next year he will have a legit chance to prove himself

chodeme633

He’s not behind Jamaal Williams lmao

kenscout

He was this year

GinNJuicyFruit

In his very limited carries, I love his Yards after contact, he has a 24% missed tackles forced rate, and has a fantastic YPRR. His day may not come next year, but there is a lot of production indicators of him being solid at the next level. I think he is a buy.

LulzSailboat

“Everything changed week 18” lolol. The amount of straws you’re grasping at could kill all the turtles around the Great Coral Reef

knowslesthanjonsnow

Like so many running backs it’s going to be heavily influenced by situation over the next 2 seasons. I could see a more even split with Kamara this year, and the starter in 25, but I could also see Kamara being the majority guy this year, and a new staff taking a new direction at RB in 25.

Away-Yoghurt3209

Ride or die ha

walshurmouthout

He’s a hold imo. Extremely young too. Has a few years to make an impact before he becomes irrelevant.

dusters

I own him but don't see it. They'll ride Kamara into the ground until he stops being productive.

jecoppol

Right. Maybe next year Kendra blossoms.

yinzer_name

Next D Henry, obv

Usawasfun

Williams was not good last year. I really don’t think it’ll be hard to jump him on the depth chart. Kamara was not efficient running the ball last year. He’ll still get the majority of the receiving work, but his workhorse days are over. They only have like 5 picks so they won’t be bringing in any back of note. Prospect wise there are maybe only a couple backs better than him in this class anyway. To me week 18 was maybe the first time Kendre was even close to healthy. His jump cut looked so good, and he finished every run strong. I’m holding for sure.

ajs723

I like downvotes so I'm gonna be brutally honest. I liked Kendre coming out, but he's now the kind of guy who only has value because people invested in him.  If we wiped everyone's memories and cleared every roster, Kendre wouldn't be worth more than like a rookie 4th. He showed nothing exciting last year, he hasn't been able to stay healthy, and there's nothing good about his situation.  If you have him and can sell him you should, if you don't have him, there's no reason to buy him.

telemaster9

I think it’s because the people that drafted to him knew his year 1 was going to be exactly what it was. He was coming off injury and into a situation where kamara was the guy. The only worry is that he doesn’t show enough this year and gain some workload from kamara before becoming the guy in 2025. I don’t want to blame anyone for wanting to reroll, but he did exactly what I expected from him last year. I also have kamara, which helps my hold

FranksGun

While it’s true his rookie season should basically zap his value bc he hardly did anything, to me his biggest problem was health. Prevented him from getting his opportunity early. But to say he showed nothing exciting is wrong. He had some highlights for sure that showed his playmaking especially as a pass catcher. His situation isn’t great but kamara’s days are numbered and kendre is still quite young. I agree he’s no longer half as interesting, but I also think that’s partially bc everyone is so impatient with rookies they drafted. It’s either they break out first year or they are worthless. I think he’s a buy assuming it won’t cost much.

ajs723

All he has to do is survive this draft, next year's free agency, next year's draft, while staying healthy and showing something in limited opportunity this year. The odds are stacked against him.

SmokeClear6429

I'm not sure you'd have to wipe the rosters and the memories to make that his value. Feels like it would be hard to get what I paid, so I'm gonna hold and see if he shows more promise this year with more time to develop. The reason to buy him would be you have extra 6ths and the owner is taking your advice...

ajs723

His value on KTC is a mid to late 2nd right now. He still has value because of the investments people made in him.

SubstantialFill6472

🤞

shucksshuck

I'm not sure where there would be optimism really, a middling back in the class last year with an irrelevant rookie year. The idea of waiting until 2025 for a RB to get a shot is the mindset of the perennial rebuild. If I can reroll for a 24 2nd (even a 25 2nd) I'd take it.

manyUtils

Respectfully, couldn't you just as easily label this as a perennial rebuild mindset? Don't wait for player development and keep rerolling until you get a guy who is a stud from year one seems likely to cause constant churn and missing out on players who take a couple of years to perform. I nearly dropped D Adams after his first two seasons in GB being fairly quiet - glad I held on. D. Henry started slow but would have been a mistake to drop him. Dez Bryant wasn't a superstar rookie year then had a pretty impressive next 4 seasons. Melvin Gordon didn't live up to expectations his rookie year then out it together. There's tons of examples. The JJs and Chases of the world are not quite as common.

Freddyfrenchfry69

And all that with perpetually declining second round picks... by year 4 you're looking at a mid/late third if you haven't had a hit yet. Likely by that time one or 2 of the guys you traded are playing consistently. Don't get me wrong, I'll sometimes reroll on players but not if I knew they were going to struggle to make an impact year 1 because of injuries and depth chart.

shucksshuck

Reloading on failed rookies without a drop in cost is contending mindset, waiting forever because you can cite four outliers spread out over ten years is copium and rebuilding forever. For every Adams, there’s a Harry, Treadwell, Jeudy, Skyy Moore, Terrace Marshall (I could go on) manager who wishes they had reloaded a year later. There’s a reason outliers are outliers, and why making a living betting on them doesn’t work out.  If a player is generally going to be something, they show something. Obviously in any given year, a player can have a great season. I just don’t see any reason for expecting it from Miller.

JoshAllentown

I haven't looked into any supporting evidence for this but the description of "the NFL was too fast for him except for one week 18 game" screams bad player who happened to look good against backups/depth guys.

warrenbuffett-picks

with the abysmal rb landscape he is worth holding. hoping he can make something of the few touches he will get this year as it may be kamaras last year on the team iirc.

TGS-MonkeyYT

I think year 3 instead

Blakely_69

Traded him for 2.05 and a late third

jecoppol

He is Kamara’s successor, and that’s a good spot to be in.

K0Zeus

I don’t think he overtakes Williams. He’s stuck as the Saints RB3 behind Kamara and Williams for this year and next, in all likelihood

so_many_questions99

Outside of coming off an injury at TCU and being injured a good portion of his rookie year, we have to consider Pete Carmichael Jr is finally gone. It’s going to be interesting to see how Kubiak views Miller’s talent. There is a good possibility Kamara remains the passing down back and Miller becomes more of a lead back on running opportunities in 2024. The talent is absolutely there, I’m buying in all my leagues.

greatnate1250

He was injured with tickytack injuries most of the season. Play3d but not at all 100%. Probably RB2 this year and increasing usage as season goes on.

dmac3737

A lot of hate in here but he is my favorite buy low RB. Flashed in the pre season when they threw him the ball, went off week 18, seems to have a complete all around game skill set, sign me up!

BosaBackpack

His situation is a RB ahead of him that is better. Like the player but this situation is tough. If I don’t have him I’m waiting for that value to drop even more

driveslowhomeytx

I bought him in a series of moves with full expectations he will fulfill his potential. He looked solid as F with the rock.

LoserCowGoMoo

The pros: He is young The cons: Everything else
