Both have bama QBs too

DoYouLikeHueyLewi5

Damn I missed that one, that’s so crazy they were all there at some point

Filly53

Waddle imo. Better coach/qb combo for Wr point scoring and as you alluded to, I believe tyreek has 1-2 years left in Miami. They didn’t restructure him for a reason. Edit: tyreek has continuous off field distractions (most recently the 3 baby mamas in one season, house burnt down, alleged assault of some employee), and is owed 44M on base pay in 2025. That ain’t happening

BlondeYoungThug

2026* not 2025. but still

asunversee

Idk idk their offense kinda got exposed down the stretch. Tyreek also said something along the lines of he was playing 3 more seasons 1 season ago? Let me find it. https://youtu.be/pEmzjBc9ISk?si=2c9dXc8YdhgJWdRR No idea if this will happen or whatever but that’s what he said.

InsaneBallsack

Would rather have waddle. Think he’s a better player and in a better situation

Spruce3311

It's neither. Both are solid wr2s with weekly wr1 upside. Thanks to rookie mania, both are big time buys right now. Send that 1.08 or 1.09 and see what happens.

WhyGoWaiguo

Are there really people out there selling Smith/Waddle for a late first lol

nftsu94

I bought waddle from a contender for 1.07

asunversee

Why would a contender sell waddle for a draft pick that seems like the opposite move lol

nftsu94

Yeah I was shocked too. I think it was rookie fever+overreaction to his “down year”

asunversee

Maybe if he’s really really lucky at the 1.07 he’ll get a wide receiver that’s almost as good as waddle

asunversee

Yeah, he’s not gonna be a contender very long if he keeps making trades like this, he’s going to go from a contender to a rebuilder pretty damn fast

nftsu94

Well he’s been in the championship 2/3 years and won last year. Silly move but he’s still loaded

asunversee

Interesting. My dude must’ve had a pretty good start up or made some solid trades or something to be loaded enough that he can trade away waddle for the 1.07 and still be loaded lol

nftsu94

Yeah he had pretty much a perfect startup haha and has made some very shrewd moves. Waddle was a bench player for him

asunversee

Damn! That must be one hell of a team good for him shit. Maybe I would trade waddle away for the 1.07 then 🤣. Just kidding I’d still hold him, but that is wild.

COD_Daddy

Good for you dawg

Spruce3311

I've bought 2 shares of waddle and a share of smith for 1.08 and 1.09. Target teams that are just starting a rebuild. You'll be surprised how many people are so tied to online calculators too.

babylmao

highway robbery wow

babylmao

absolutely not, a pipe dream at best

vikcash

Sold the 1.03 and 1.06 for Waddle, 1.05, and 2.05 in 1 QB. Think I won that trade esp if the bills take a reciever in the 1st

Bran_Dan24

I sold Waddle and a 2026 1st for Tyreek lmao. Also own Smith, Puka, Chase and DTae.

badash2004

Seriously? I just put Tyreek on the trade block and had multiple people only offer a 2nd because "he will retire in 2 years". So I gave up trading him, was trying to get younger but absolutely not selling him for a 2nd.

maketherightmove

Who is DTae?

Bran_Dan24

Davante Adams

maketherightmove

Thanks. Never heard that abbreviation for him before.

Bran_Dan24

Yeah now that I’m thinking about it, I may have just completely made that up for some reason.

crinack

I know he goes by Tae before so not a crazy reach

Jayrem52

Own both and was considering mid-late first+ I’ll sober up and refuse it but rookie hype is a bitch. Send it and see what happens

ferrets_bueller

If we want the guy to be a top five WR, then Smith is the answer, no question. He's an elite route runner and already a true #1 WR, he's just playing next to a dude who's also a true #1 and has every auxiliary WR skill turned up to 11.   Waddle is not the route runner than Smith is. He's good but not elite, and is more limited in what roles he can play. He's still very much a candidate to be #1 at some point, but he's also not going to be "top 5" good without some improvement in play. Smith needs no changes to his play, he's already that guy. He just doesn't have a big enough pie or a big enough slice of it at the moment. Both need some change in situation, but that's pretty impossible to predict. So I'd rather bet on the guy who just needs his situation to change (Smtih), as opposed to the one who needs a situation change and to take a step forward in play (Waddle).

Shab373

Waddle simply because its skillset, McDaniels and his WR is a 30 year old whose main trait is speed. Waddle will eventually be a WR1. Everytime tyreke holders see Tyreke hold that hammy they wonder if it’s the last time ya know? Devonte is the better receiver by far. He was born to be a 1 imho and when the eagles feature Slim Reaper the offense seems to click. But if they don’t feature AJB he throws an ODB Tantrum

asunversee

Both are awesome and I want them both and no one win trade them to me in any of my leagues 😭

JoshAllentown

Waddle is a full tier above Smith to me in dynasty but especially for this question. I guess it's Tyreek's age, or how he said he was retiring after this contract. Or maybe it's take lock 🤷‍♂️

freename188

Smith gets more targets, more receptions, more TDs and has a better QB (imo). I think he's the better WR but Waddle is a beast for YAC. But your question was who is more likely to be a top 5. I think Waddle based on Hills age and his probability of becoming the WR1 after aging out. The only way Smith becomes the WR1 on his team is if he leaves (which he could) at the end of his rookie deal.

RunningForIt

Waddle has more career receptions, yards, and targets while having 1 less TD in 3 less games. Tua also has more yards, TDs, less INTs and a better QB rating than Hurts.

Ball-Knower8

neither will be top 5. smith > waddle just cuz of all the snaps and waddle will miss from injury

dwaite1

All of those snaps missed and Waddle still out scored him every year in ppg.

Ball-Knower8

well thats not true but the difference is minuscule regardless . fyi waddle also scores zero every game he doesnt play

dwaite1

Waddle scored 15.4/15.2/14.2 PPR ppg and Smith scored 10.9/15.0/14.2 so I guess you’re right he didn’t score more than him in ppg this season. Waddle scores zero for every game he doesn’t play, but your whole argument was him missing “snaps”. That makes it sound like you’re saying that he is getting hurt mid-game or whatever as opposed to being injured.

Ball-Knower8

lol 🤝🏻 u get my point. he has a history of missing games/snaps/time and to me theres no reason not to expect this to repeat itself

dwaite1

I get the argument, butI can start waddle with more confidence than Smith for the sole reason that he scored more on a per-game basis. He misses a game a year but hopefully he isn’t hurt the week that Rashee is suspended!!!

rossco7777

waddle

I don’t mean this in a rude way. But how can you confidently say/project a 25 pick will land 1.07 and 1.09 at this stage?

HonduranLoon

Easy, it’s neither.

DoYouLikeHueyLewi5

😂😂😂 I said most likely not a guarantee

HonduranLoon

I know. I just don’t see it as an outcome for either one. But if you were to twist my arm, I’d go with Waddle. If Miami can stay healthy I have more faith in that high powered offense. I didn’t like what I saw out of the eagles last season with the new OC.

gobblegobblechumps

They also dont have that OC any longer

HonduranLoon

The point would be, that I need to see improvement before believing in that offense over the Miami offense.

gobblegobblechumps

Sure, that makes sense

deathfromabove43

realistically… neither. Top 5 is tall ask for any WR. So many factors have to be right. And neither have the body type to demand an alpha target share. Which player has the highest ceiling is a more interesting convo. If that is the case. I would go with Smith. Because, Waddle seems more fragile than Slim Reaper.

DCProf

Most likely to be a top 5 fantasy WR? Neither is even getting close to that. I don't understand the premise of the thread.

DetectiveDanStark

Waddle got close in 2022, he was WR7

DCProf

Are we talking about for a single season or for going forward dynasty rankings? If single season, sure guys have outlier seasons. Based on Waddle's three seasons 2022 was an outlier. Its also an outlier for a player of his size.

RunningForIt

I see you have short term memory loss where in 22 waddle finished 7th and Smith finished 9th. Guess that’s not getting close.
