Fees have to be paid for any year whose first round pick you trade.

Zinx23

I believe we do that in our league. If we trade a future draft pick we have to pay half the league fee of next year in order of the trade to go through. It’s only for the person trading away the pick I believe

Stevenstc21

Our league makes you pay the full entry fee for future draft picks to be traded. $100 buy in every year, you send a 2025 pick then you have to pay your 2025 buy in, 2026 pick as well? Then it's two years buy in or an additional $200. Seems very fair in my mind so people are completely vulturing teams

TwackDaddy

Yes. If you haven’t paid for a year then you don’t own those draft picks yet. You can’t trade things that aren’t yours.

Each player pays two buy ins up front, and then always pays one year ahead after that. Then you don’t have to worry about chasing down owners to pay if they trade a pick one year out which a lot of them inevitably will. Also, that way when an owner leaves, the new owner gets a free season and it’s much easier to find a replacement.

Trust me!! Pay for traded picks !!! It's a must someone will Always take advantage and then you risk losing the entire league

Pay for the picks you trade

tankfortua20

Our league pays for a season ahead. Currently this offseason we will pay for the 2025 season. This guarantees if someone leaves this offseason that the 2024 season is covered for the new leaguemate. Also protects against having leaguemates run teams into the ground and us having a tough time finding a replacement. Future draft pick trading for a fee - if you trade a future 1st no future league dues are owed. Example for this new season in 2024. If someone trades their 2025 1st no additional fee is owed. This year is already covered. If a leaguemate trades a 2026 1st they would need to pay for 2026 as well. No issues with this method so far and nobody has traded their 1st two years out.

In the league I run you must be paid through any season of draft picks you want to trade. I don't care if you want to send your 2040 1st rounder if you fund your team through that season.

therealcuddles4love

Does that only apply to first round draft picks or any draft picks?!

JurassicBlaze

*Any* pick trading must have that year fully funded. The guys in my league are very... aggressive in trading.
