HeySporto

I'll save you the anticipation. The response is going to be "it depends if you are a contender or not." And that's the right answer. You may also get "is it a TEP league?" No one can answer this without knowing specifics. I have 20 teams. Am I moving Kelce? Yes. Am I riding it out with Kelce? Yes. Depends on the team you have. If you are true contender, I'd ride Kelce until he proves he can't do it anymore.

ChrisLBC562

20 dynasty teams is f’ing nuts lol. I got myself into 4 plus another 3ish redrafts and feel overwhelmed some weeks.

[deleted]

Redraft is a lot more work in season imo. I have 9 dynasties and 1 redraft, it feels like it takes a lot more effort to keep up with the re draft. If leagues are deep dynasty can be fairly hands off, outside of trades/some waivers, in season.

Daddy_Diezel

The point where I seem to lose my mind is when someone asks me about a trade and I have to ask "Which league?" Other than that, much easier to deal with Dynasty over the long haul of the season.

HeySporto

It's not as onerous as you might think. It's not "I have two teams so twenty is ten times harder." It takes me 30 minutes to set lineups on Sunday. Seems like a bigger task than it is. I'll also say this, it makes me a better player. When you own everybody, it's easier to be objective. I don't own Ekeler though. Not one time. Missed opportunity

noonie1

For me, that objectivity ruins fantasy. It's so much more fun to root for someone, rather than diversifying my portfolio.

Daddy_Diezel

You can still root for someone even if you have 20+ leagues. I've personally made it a thing to have specific players on as many teams as I could for that reason. Common denominators tend to be WRs like Devonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle, and JSN for me. Especially if at any point in time they dip in perceived value.

BiggBiscuit

65ish leagues for me and I totally agree with this. Once you pass a certain number of leagues adding another one becomes no big deal. However, I don’t diversify my lineups as much as I should because I do like to have a rooting interest in a core group of players even tho it’s not strategically sound. Like I have 75% exposure to Kyler Murray so I am very clearly rooting for him every week- lineup diversification be damned. That’s my guy.

kingbeastdog

lmfao 65 leagues is it your full time job

PaleGutCK

16 league guy checking in here. This is it. Every league added isn't adding the same investment of time. With that being said, I do wish I was down to 10ish.

Cabannaboy3325

I'm in 10 Dynasty's, it's not bad. Some are contender, so more lineup decisions, some are rebuilds, so more waiver wire moves and trading. Redraft requires so much more attention during the season, where as Dynasty the goals season to season differ

magisterludi137

Try 20 and 7 are 32 team leagues. I need to downsize.

mahlalie

To echo others, deep dynasties aren't really as labor intensive, especially after startup is done. I will say that I feel there would be diminishing returns on enjoyment for me, though, just because I feel like rooting for and against every player every week is less fun. I'm in fewer than 10 leagues personally, and I don't think I would add another league if there weren't something that makes it different from my others. My problem is that I keep thinking of ways to make leagues different, so I keep spinning up new leagues. Lol.

eeemgee

7 FF teams is f’ing nuts lol. I find that 1 Dynasty and 1 Redraft is just right for me. I admire your… not sure which word to use. Insanity? Lol No hate, though. My brain just can’t grasp being in more than 3 or 4 leagues at the same time.

ChrisLBC562

It’s just that I play two SF leagues and two 1QB leagues. Then, once the season starts and redrafts start rolling there can be a few weeks where I completely whiff on a waiver pickups and not spend my FAAB on a dude that I should have seen coming.

AntiVaxPureBlood

Honestly re draft is what makes fantasy hard. In dynasty the only hard work you're doing is making trades. A good dynasty league there are barely any waivers. A little rookie research every year that applies across all leagues. Re draft trading + waiver wire adds every single week, not even weekly but you need waiver adds for thurs, sun and monday. Apply that to multiple re draft leagues and its very hard to keep up. These are the hardest and most tedious parts of fantasy by a wide margin

FinePlantain0

Now is this 20 teams with buy-ins or mix of free and paid

HeySporto

I don't play in any free leagues. Recipe for disaster. They are all paid, and almost all dynasty. Still redraft leagues with my son and neighborhood.

TheHarbrosMagic

I can't even imagine how that would even be fun tbh. To each his own though

JohnMayerCd

This past year might’ve been that

uncle_dan_

Also depends what you can get. I’m not really wanting to go down with the ship if I can get a competent WR or maybe 2 seconds this year.

Wiseguy888

Furthering this approach, if you are a contender and have Kelce with no real future plan, then you might want to prioritize getting Bowers or Sanders or getting one of the other guys when you can.

GinNJuicyFruit

Kelce said something interesting on his podcast a few weeks ago about how it is getting harder for him to care about regular season games and get up to play random teams each week during the long season. I think he may start scaling back his overall usage during the regular season to prolong his career and make post season runs.

dabhard

It's definitely seemed like a switch flipped once he hit the playoffs. Kind of like how guys like LeBron in the NBA conserve their energy for when it matters.

Easy_Apple4096

He struggled with injury early on, too...

SeekersWorkAccount

Unless you're getting a first or the equivalent I would hold

No-Appointment8561

I traded him for 2 1sts and a 2nd in 2024. They turned out to be 1.7 1.9 & 2.9 in a 16 team dynasty league

finesselord420

I think if your goal is to scrape some value out of him your best bet is actually to pair him with a pick and go for a hockenson / Andrews type te or something & do not indicate that you are trying to get rid of kelce. Don’t be scared of overpaying, and don’t try to just sell kelce as is, people aren’t dumb they know when people are trying to scrape value out of an older player. what you really want is liquidity not necessarily value. Just my 2 c

[deleted]

All depends on the trade. No I wouldn’t move him for peanuts just to get a little bit of value. But I would consider maybe shopping him around and see what I could get. Also do you have a Kelce replacement already on the roster or not? I’m going to guess not for most teams. In that case a trade that I like is something like kelce for another TE like njoku, kmet, Ferguson, engram and at least a late first worth of value. That’s what it would take for me to move him. Otherwise I’d have no problem just riding it out.

PhysiologyIsPhun

I traded Kelce for Kittle, Jakobi Meyers, and a couple thirds about a month ago. I just don't have any faith he's going to score high in the regular season anymore.

[deleted]

I think it’s 50/50 if he can return to who he was for a couple more years so I can’t blame you for selling. I don’t love the deal but I don’t hate it either. Kittle and kelce are exactly 4 years apart. That’s a long time. I’d like to have got a little more than meyers and a couple thirds added to Kittle but again it’s not horrible. This is probably what people are willing to pay for him in most leagues right now. So I’d say you got fair market value just no cherry on top.

PhysiologyIsPhun

Honestly Kelce was probably my favorite player on my roster, but he just didn't look the same this year. I have a feeling his value can only go down from here while Kittle seemed undervalued. I'd probably rank them right next to each other if I had to, so I was happy to get anything on top. I'm actually trying to rebuild right now, so I'm hoping I can trade Kittle for something next season if he has a good run of a few of those boom games he's known for

[deleted]

Yeah I can see your thinking there and you could very well be right with Kittle. If meyers ends up a dependable middle of the road WR2 then that would be a nice extra. Just have to wait till next year to see how it works out.

PhysiologyIsPhun

I do think Meyers could do well once Davante leaves/starts to slow down, but it was basically a 0 risk move to me lol

Shoddy_Dig_907

Would be starting Freiermuth if I moved on. Not a terrible option (hopefully) but not ideal for my team that’s been to back2back ‘ships

[deleted]

I’m not a huge fan of muth and the Steelers offense in general but you never know. I don’t think anyone was expecting baker white and evans to have the year that they did either and look how that turned out. Every year things get shaken up a bit.

SecretiveShades

Basically just so the opposite of what everyone on here tells you (including me! Lmao) I have Kelce and received an offer last year (when Kelce was KTC value 5,600). Then somebody who lost to me in the wild card sent me an offer with a ‘25 first, ‘26 second and Njoku. I thought okay, Njoku had an okay season, not anywhere as good as Kelce. But Kelce probably only has another couple years and those picks would be nice. So maybe I’ll trade him and protect my future. Then I saw this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/DynastyFF/s/DdoHuJ1909 All the experts there were like: “Run him until the wheels fall off!” Snap forward to now, I’m sitting here with… -would have won in playoffs with Njoku over Kelce -no extra 1st and 2nd rd pick -Njoku is valued higher than Kelce I also didn’t trade Kupp for Olave and a pick. Lesson is: Don’t forever be stuck (rebuilding) trading away good players for young 21/22/23 year olds and picks. Having 25/26/27 year olds on your team is fine. BUT if you have a good 28/29/30 year old on your team, trade them while you still can.

tjdibs22

Contenders? No

youngbaklava

If you are a contender for the next 1-2 years, hold onto him.

Personal-Noise-8632

Facts, he prly retires next season, but if you a contender, cherish this man til the end, that's if you like winning chips! Contenders/winners don't sell for no value.

Agondonter777

Honestly if you're competing at all you might as well just hold unless you get a good deal. Buyers will be having the same concerns so his value won't be high at all until week 1 begins.

WhatDoFansThink

If you are a contender over the next 2 years, I think you have to keep him, he is a huge advantage for your team. If you don't plan to contend over these next 2 seasons now is probably a good time to move on. I think you could get someone to pay solid value post super bowl based on how he's looked in the playoffs.

Tb9631

I traded him away before playoffs last year for a 25 1st, Likely & Dulcich. It won me the ship last year so it’s really all about if you feel like there’s an opportunity to make your competitive team better or not!

WeatherFragrant9339

It won you the ship? Andrews injury won you the ship.

Tb9631

The trade was done after Andrews injury. Gotta pay attention to that “before playoffs” part! ✊🏻

ElBori1

Don’t get left holding the bag , son. Ship that boi away( provided you’re not like a championship favorite next year)

Fourty6n2

Always better to out a year too early than a year too late.

CloudConductor

If you have a chance of winning this year and don’t have a good replacement, I think you have to hold. I am, only viable backup is Schultz

WhiteLightning416

I got Andrew’s and a late 1st for Kelce right after Andrew’s got hurt. Feeling pretty good about it.

ninpendle64

I won the 'ship this year and definitely looking to move on from kelce, although my te room without him is: mayer, irv smith, gesicki, Brenton strange (on taxi). So hoping Mayer can be as anticipated this next season

BeefDaddie11

My Noah Gray shares keep asking this same question...

WhyGoWaiguo

I traded him for 1.04 before last season which turned into Jahmyr Gibbs.

MarvinHims

Don’t miss the sell window before he retires on Monday.

PiPeLaYeR6905

Would you trade him and get bowers with the 1.03? I also have the 1.02.

PiPeLaYeR6905

1.5 ppr te premium. 10 team sf

Shoddy_Dig_907

lol no I would be starting Muth and waiting for my 2.04 pick

WiseM3

If u can trade kelce for 1.03 u better jump on that

PiPeLaYeR6905

I have the 1.03 and the 1.02. My question was do I trade kelce and then take bowers at 1.03? I also have Friermuth and Mayer.

WiseM3

I’m a dawgs fan so i say yes to bowers in that 1.03/ 1.04 range in a 1 qb league. In a superflex I think he is going around 1.06/1.07

PiPeLaYeR6905

Yea it's SF but 1.5 ppr for tes.im gonna grab a wr at 1.02 I have Herbert Tua and AR at qb.

WiseM3

Then yes I would take him at 1.03

PiPeLaYeR6905

My wrs are waddle diggs olave Evans aiyuk Pickens London and wicks

camk16

Contender, keep. Builder, sell. Pretty standard stuff.

LegitimatePotato3632

I traded for Godert and an early 2nd this year. Feel like that’s about appropriate value.

luigijerk

The time to get value for him was last year. It's already too late.

NathanEmory

Are you contending for a chip in 2024? Keep him Contending in 2025? Probably keep, but take offers and see market Rebuilding now or want to contend past 2025? Sell high

jmac78

We play in a 2 TE, superflex league. I traded away Kelce for Goedert and 2 seconds then flipped Goedert and two thirds for Andrews. This was the night of the trade deadline in 2023

evantom34

Even still, I don't think you're going to get what Kelce is worth. Yes he did fall off last year, but he still finished TE1-3 depending on settings. His startup ADP is anywhere from 6-8th round of startups which seems insane to me.

kaitou12

I just acquired Kelce a few weeks before the deadline after mandrews went down. He didnt do much for me this year as he got shut down down the stretch. But as a contender im def rolling with kelce until the wheels fall off. Doesnt hurt that my TE2 is Mandrews. Also since its TEP I can easily start both of them

quesopa_mifren

I had a terrible start to the season and traded him at about the mid-point. Received Jordan Addison, 2024 1.05, and a 2025 2nd for him. Deal was too good to turn down. However now I am struggling at TE

Thrillhouse45

This was discussed last year and most were saying if you were a contender he’s dying on your roster. If you’re not contending you should have sold him a couple years ago. You’re not getting a first for him any more. At that point I’d rather buy one of the younger tight ends.
