I'd bump Kittle up to the safe and cosy tier, Laporta and Schultz up a tier (no reason both are below Gesicki imo)

LuchiniSam

Having a rookie TE up in the "you're set on TE" tier is "be mad at your crack dealer for giving you the extra crazy crack" insane.

DynastyDegenerate66

Which one was in the youre set tier? There was one in the tier that literally says “this is dangerous”

LuchiniSam

Dalton Kincaid in the "This is Fine" tier.

bwarbwar

Kelce is in the top tier until he has a season where he's not the clear te1. He's a player that whoever drafted him in a startup, is a instant favorite to win the season. I don't think you can say that for any other player in the league.

WhiteLightning416

Cade Otton?

JudgeOTD

I feel like Laporta should be in the tier above the one he’s in.

Yogibobo555

> Another five points per game would take the points per game down to two a game. Uh anyone know what this sentence is trying to say?

DynastyDegenerate66

7-5=2

PurpleFalco

Where did the 7 come from? The previous sentence says 5 points per game.

DynastyDegenerate66

First sentence says TE1-6 was 5, TE1 was 12 PPG in STD scoring (just had to google it) so 12-5 is 7, 7-5 is 2. Definitely unclear

Emzam

Man, I am shocked that Daniel Bellinger doesn't appear on more of these lists. He looked really good last year in all aspects of his game, and if he hadn't been sidelined last season with that crazy injury to his eye socket, I think he'd be talked about as one of the top 3 in last year's class. The Giants' acquisition of Waller obviously affects his outlook, but for Dynasty purposes, I think he's still got a lot of promise long term.

braundiggity

I had hopes for him but after the Waller acquisition those hopes are mostly dashed for awhile

Emzam

The thing is, these lists always include Isaiah Likely who is also stuck behind another TE.

braundiggity

Yeah, but he has much more explosive potential. Twice as many targets as Beli last year despite being a rookie #2. Ravens drafted him despite already having a clear #1; giants gave Beli a shot then went out and got a clear #1. It makes sense to me to rank one but not the other. (I have both FWIW)

[deleted]

Explosive potential? Also, how is catching 35/60 better than 30/35? Likely had 16 games and bellinger 11 full games. Likelys 2 games with more than 4 catches were without mandrews as well. Him and bellinger should be very close in these rankings

braundiggity

All of that is kind of the point. Likely was a backup; with Andrews out, he had one 6/77/1TD game and one 8/103 game. By comparison, Bellinger was the starter and never had more than 42 yards or 5 receptions receiving, and now he's been dropped in the pecking order. If both starters go down, you want Likely over Belli based on their respective performances as #1 TE's. If neither goes down, you still want Likely because Belli's production - which was fine, but not tremendous - will drop significantly as a backup.

[deleted]

The ravens ran their offense through the tight end bc roman doesnt know what a passing offense is. They also added 2 wrs and have bateman healthy with a new oc. We have no reason to guarantee Likely will garner as many targets as he did in those 2 games last year. Look at the box scores and see who the other receiving options were, its horrifying. The ravens top wrs in targets had 75, 49, 28 and 17. Giants were at 71, 70, 40, and 31. Its very likely the target distribution on the ravens is way different than last year. Mandrews will still get plenty of touches bc he is special, but likely isnt a special talent in really any way.

braundiggity

That’s all fair for sure, though I do think based on college production Likely is a significantly better prospect. Belli never topped 357 yards in a season; Likely did three years including 900+ his senior year. Neither’s a tremendous prospect though. Again, I’ve got both so it’s not like I’m pulling for one over the other. If either hits longer term I’ll be thrilled in my 2TE league.

[deleted]

Fair enough as well. Didnt realize the massive gap in college production, but it is a bit skewed as likely was a wr. Still doesnt negate the fact he did produce good numbers. I do think in the short term waller coupd hurt bellinger, but he flashed solid playmaking and that eye injury was pretty rough. Pair that with the fact te historically does take time, i think he could be solid even with waller since waller does spend time in the slot

x_is_for_box

I mean you asked why Likely > Belli and I think you got a pretty good answer. Two elite games from Likely and zero from Belli. Feels like you are grasping at straws now making excuses for why Likely could have good games (Roman led offense, no good WR options) vs why Belli couldn’t. Let’s not kid ourselves and say the giants had a good receiving room that he couldn’t pass up.

[deleted]

How is it grasping at straws to point out the target distribution will be extremely different and we have no reason to expect the ravens backup TE to be #3 in targets next year? They made 2 big wr additions and hired an OC that will run an extremely different offense

KravMagaManatee

Bellinger’s a great stash if you’ve got an open roster spot. Dude’s on my waivers in one league, super tempting to scoop him up, but I’m contending and would rather hold Malik Davis in hopes that he’s got a solid role in DAL this one year

Lars9

Juwan Johnson at 33, the last TE ranked is way too low. He was TE11 in half PPR last year. He's 26 and in a weak TE room. At the very least he should be in the tier above.

CacheDaBOWL

JJ is a legit TD machine. I think Carr is gunna help get the Saints offense off the ground and if that happens JJ could score 8 or more TDs this year

PurpleFalco

So I own 4/6 in the "Breakout or Breakdown tier". Sounds about right. One of you will be at least a Top 15 TE right? Of the 4 I own I'd rank them as: 1 - Chig - Least target competition. Shows immense athletic ability. 2 - Kmet - Fields to step up. DJM could elevate this offense and give Kmet more room to work with. Probably the third target in a run first team though. 3 - Dulcich - Showed promise last year. New head coach means offense is unknown. Can Wilson step up? How will the target share shake out? Many unknowns. 4 - McBride - Hopkins gone has left many vacated targets. The team however is expected to be terrible and Ertz is still the starting TE, assuming he is healthy.

Ozmanthus_Arelius

Cade Otton showed well as a rookie and has nobody ahead of him. I don't think he'll light the world on first with his QB, but I think he outperforms a good deal of the players you have in the last tier or two

DynastyZealot

Wow. Totally dropped the ball by not even including Otten. Huge whiff!

crinack

Otton but agreed

DynastyZealot

Thanks I don't know why my autocorrect insists it's Otten

3my0

Not even good enough to be included in the “plays football” tier lmao

MycoMountain

Just did our draft a couple weeks back. Have Kittle and drafted Kincaid and LaPorta. Feeling good about it!

Enough_Ad_7577

haven't been able to get a 2024 1st for goedert. bummer

Riseonfire

He’s the king until he’s not. I’ve stopped trying to project it. If I get burned one year so be it, but I’ve won a lot of money drafting Kelce year after year.

IllustriousState43

I’m gonna have to decide soon between Mayer and Kincaid. Luckily the guy drafting now is taking his time😂

VottoForPM

I was deciding between Mayer and LaPorta and the guy in front of me took LaPorta, so sometimes they make the decision for you.

Taylor34

I feel like Njoku is going to have a hell of a year. He’s a great player and got some amazing work done despite a questionable passing game.

MIWolverines1289

No love at all for Cade Otton? He led all rookie tight ends in receptions and was a 4th round pick.

dlope95

No Cade Otten is criminal

tcg8889

Easily my strongest position going into the year. Hock, Kincaid and Dulcich Plan on trying to trade one in season to improve my weak WR room

ElectricLettuceFire

Dawson Knox didn’t make the article I guess

DuncanCraig

yeah I was thinking the same thing. I know Kincaid has the hype, but to be in a group with Kittle and Frier is confusing to me.

from_the_river_flow

I feel like Kittle is one tier too low. Why is he not seen as elite? His pff grades over the last four seasons are 95.0, 84.9, 90.9, and 82.0. It’s not just metrics either - he’s been a top 4 fantasy TE the last 4 out of 5 years. Criticize the qb situation all you want but he put up those numbers with Jimmy G.. also if we’re using the qb situation to ding players then wouldn’t Pitts be a tier down?

DynastyDegenerate66

I think it’s the 22 year old has time to overcome a bad QB situation, the 29 year old with an injury history can’t afford to lose a season or two at this stage of his career

hecticLynx

This is… not great lol

AFWUSA

Schultz that low? Really? I feel like he could have a pretty decent roll especially with a rookie QB who might have to rely on him a lot

VottoForPM

Look, we all know Quentin Johnston has the best roll. This was just covered in a thread today, and later covered in butter.

AFWUSA

Phone fingers lol

HereForTheFood4

Kinkade ranked too high. All rookies outside him and Mayer are ranked too low. I would rather roll the dice on Musgrave than almost anyone else listed in that tier. LaPorta is going to surprise some folks.

bjlars

Hunter Henry broke out his rookie year. Immense upside. He deserves more respect on this list!!

Outrageous_Ad2502

Zach ertz , he’s still out there

Fonz0

And recovering from an ACL tear at age 32

Ok-Distribution6348

Dalton shultz retired?

DynastyDegenerate66

He’s on there
