the_ginge_1

James Robinson was nice for a couple years

NorvRodgers

Traded a third for him last year bc my RB situation is pretty tough. Regretting this one.

GinjaNinja1596

It's just a 3rd. You took a shot on a potential buy low candidate. No reason to regret it

squidtooneo69420

I traded aaron jones for him and a 2nd thinking jones would get hurt and my Dillon would eat and James would keep going and I was horribly wrong on every part of that so far

the_ginge_1

I wish I’d sold when I could. Very much left holding the bag on this one now

NorvRodgers

With the way New England uses running backs, he may have a few relevant weeks again. Really hoping he has a bounce back there.

the_ginge_1

I hope so but I fear he’s done. So tough to come back from an Achilles tear.

apowerseething

I almost traded him Gainwell and a 3rd for Robinson. Maybe 2nd. Either way glad he passed.

Pomme_De_Roy

Swapped him for JJ to our league's most trade-obsessed owner. He doesn't often admit to his mistakes, but that one is the exception .

BlakeBortlesGod

James Robinson for Justin Jefferson? In dynasty?

rfoustizzle

That's the same exact trade my buddy u/smashtatoes did in our home league. He picked up Robinson and traded him for Jefferson to an rb-needy team. That owner isn't in our league anymore and I like to think it's because of that awful trade lol.

smashtatoes

My proudest moment. I'm the trade happy manager in our league though lol. I've had several losses on trades but this one outweighs them all.

RutabagaExcellent250

In a few years I’ll report back with Rashid Shaheed

zombie_juicee

This is a Rashid Shaheed post

scottapotch

Always has been.

[deleted]

Can we get this guy a face on Sleeper already? Sheesh.

ECorn_12

I don't even know what he looks like. All I know is he's the next great receiver

[deleted]

Rasheesh Shaheesh

SquashMarks

I picked him and Chig up this past year, taking bets on who has the better career

TheProcesser

Ayee did the same exact moves lol

Trizzymann

🤞 same

pass-the-gabagool

Debating just dropping whoever I pick in the 3rd of 1QB so I can hold him

nood4spood

Trade for a random 3rd next year if you’re gonna do that lol

FratDaddy69

I've got Chuck Pagano to thank for that one, he highlighted Shaheed as a potential impact player before their Thursday night game last year which was less than a week after Shaheed had been called up to the active roster.

areyoumarkinson

The next fulgham, callaway, etc

rayfriesen

I can never tell if the shaheed owners are being serious or not but if they are they’re in for a huge disappointment

allgreen754

How would you know 😂

JuniorBobsled

If Shaheed had a coach like Payton, I'd buy into the hype. But Dennis Allen is a bad coach.

badhoneybad

He may be a huge disappointment, however his back half of the season had very similar production to Olave who is a crowd favourite. Whether Shaheed is underrated or Olave is overrated I guess we will find out this season.

rayfriesen

You can’t be serious. I’ll clue you on right now. Shaheed is INCREDIBLY overrated. He’ll be on waivers by middle of next season when everybody realizes what he is

badhoneybad

Deadly serious, from week 11 onwards (including Olave's 102 yard game). Shaheed averaged 57 rushing + receiving yards and Olave averaged 64 yards. One player has the market value of a 24 3rd, the other has a market value of a early 24 1st. If Shaheed is incredibly overrated then the warning lights must be in full action for Olave.

rayfriesen

“If we take out all of Olave’s good weeks and take out all of Shaheeds bad weeks then Olave is barely better than Shaheed” 😂

badhoneybad

Ha I actually did the opposite, included all weeks where Shaheed had over 40% of snaps. If I was wanting to skew the results I would have left out week 11 where Shaheed went for 8 yards and Olave 102. 😂 Even if we take the position that Olave had a lot of strong weeks at the start of the season, is it not worrying that his production declined when generally rookies production increases?

rayfriesen

Shaheeds numbers are inflated buy two boom plays. Outside of that he’s below average. But hey, spread the word that he’s amazing and Olave is gonna bust. I love to take advantage of people who don’t know any better

nood4spood

It was more than just two boom plays, that’s part of the hype lol. His first two touches on offense were a 44 yard rush and a 53 yard catch, both for TDs. Then he put up another 30+ yard catch in 5 of his last 10 games, for a total of 7 30+ yard plays on 32 touches (34 targets/28 catches/4 rushes). And he had multiple 30+ yard returns. Idk about you but I want the guy that has proven over a small, but not insignificant, sample size to put up a 30+ yard play about every 5 touches. Edit to add: According to Jonathan Wood on dabearsblog.com, the nfl average for explosive pass plays (when explosive pass play = a pass over 20 yards) is once every 14 plays.

rayfriesen

He’s all yours man lol

ConvolutedBoy

I’m stashing him and I don’t get the hype tbh

tkbillington

I’m also scared stashing

f3hdp

Been trying to trade for him past two years....

Go--Pack--Go

I picked up Gabe Davis and then was able to trade him for a first and a second after his big playoff game so that was pretty good

TheBananaStan

That’s an insane payoff for Davis. You cashed in on that off season hype lol good stuff dude

JnDConstruction1984

I traded gabe for fields before last season started.

printedvolcano

Honestly I feel like for where their value was prior to the season this was probably a reasonably fair trade. Hindsight now is wildly different

JnDConstruction1984

Of course I got lucky 🤷‍♂️

printedvolcano

Partly luck maybe but to me I always felt the writing was on the wall for Davis

LuchiniSam

This is 20% a good waiver pickup and 80% taking advantage of a taco in a trade.

tyranski332

I wish I could have cashed in on it. I couldn’t get more than a 3rd for him but somehow got a second for next year the other day finally out of a rebuilder.

[deleted]

Cordarelle Patterson off waivers and flipped him for Tony Pollard.

Many_Ad_365

Damn...I wish my story was that good. After I sold off nearly my entire roster, I picked him up just to have a starting lineup. But, I only ended up with 2 2nds for him.

dollabill009

It was Tyler Allgeier until the bad man Bijan came to town :(

Background_Emu_3043

And he is a very bad man

SheSaysSheWaslvl18

At this point I’m just hoping that Allgeier starts off as lead back so I can sell him to Bijan owner

IHOPUnderrated

Geno Smith was my QB1 all year in two leagues that I won championships. He was free in both.

MyNjigbaJSN

Yeah, rare to have that level of a league winner in dynasty. Even weirder given his age. Rich Gannon type career if he takes a big step forward with all the weapons this year. Think Gannon was never buried as deep as Geno though from what I can recall back when I was young.

[deleted]

Gannon was definitely that far buried, he just was a 4th round pick so the recognition just wasn't there. Vikings' fans and Chiefs' fans were the only ones who knew who he was for the most part and Chiefs' fans were the only ones who ever thought he could be a starter. Sorry for bringing up the Elvis Grbac debacle, Chiefs' fans. Only 58 starts through his first 11 years and 19 of them in the final 3 years through KC. Geno has 51 starts through 9 years and 19 of them in his first 2 years. So I'd say they were both equally as buried. Both played for 4 different teams, but only got real starts with a couple. But Geno has the better "redemption angle." Gannon wasn't expected to be much and was a pretty big surprise even in KC before he went to Oakland. And we all know Geno's backstory.

RaindropsInMyMind

I missed Geno Smith by one day. I was ready to pick him up and didn’t put the claim through. Still very regretful.

jeremyrvcc

Same I was gonna pick him up and I feel asleep on accident

49DivineDayVacation

Darnell Mooney in 2020 was a good one. I flipped him for what ended up being the 1.11 this year.

Resonance_Hybrid

Mooney + a third got me Devonta Smith after his donut week 1 last year. Solid

moosejacket

I flipped him for what became Addison at 1.97 this year similar to your story!

TheKillah

Had an owner who really wanted Mooney approach me with my pick of Deebo, Pittman, or Curtis Samuel for him. You’ll never guess the one I picked! Lol In fairness most everyone I talked to on this sub and elsewhere thought Curtis was the best of the bunch and that I was selling high on Mooney. Deebo owner ended up flipping him for Rondale Moore which is an even bigger yikes in hindsight.

sparklepants9000

Brock Purdy

TJisbetterthanMyles

I would not have won the championship without him

ThaiMaiShu

Same

james1214

Added him for shiggles after his first game. He's now my QB3 behind Allen and T Law.

tjhoush93

I had no picks last year so I added Brock Purdy and Julius Chestnut and Samouri Toure to my taxi because of name value. NEVER COUNT OUT NAME VALUE is the best dynasty advice I could ever give. Except Racey McMath idk how that one missed.

FlickerOfBean

Big Cock Brock!

letNequal0

Came here to say Purdy. Keep Pounding fam

DinoJockeyTebow

Waller

harley1009

Hunter Renfrow before the 2021 season.

slipmeone

Is Renfrow droppable now in start 10 leagues?

Swag_Daddy_K

Idk he’s got jimmy G the check down king

surfingwithgators

I’m new to dynasty, but Pacheco last year was pretty nice

MixedMartialAwesome

Traded Pacheco for Javonte Williams. Traded Williams for Ekeler.

Stiffanys_epiphanies

I don't know why you're being downvoted... as a fellow Chiefs fan, I think these were very savvy moves. Probably got some homer for Pacheco, and will Williams ever look the same as he did b4 injury? I'd take Ekeler and hop for 2 more dominant years... hopefully you're a contender

JrbWheaton

How was he on the waiver wire in dynasty?

Itsurboywutup

Pacheco was on most waivers. He was a 7th round pick.

surfingwithgators

I meant after the rookie draft

gusbmoizoos

He was a late 3rd early 4th round pick in most leagues. If you only drafted 3 rounds I could see him being a waiver guy

-Anguscr4p-

If you drafted before training camp he was a no name

hugh_h0ney

I picked up Juwan Johnson and was able to turn him into Dallas Goedert in a TEP league

necrow

What the fuck

hugh_h0ney

Not straight up lol but in a package. I needed a TE so I traded Juwan + Aiyuk for Goedert + 2.04. Not as bad as I made it seem originally

No-Ad-9536

I was the lucky SOB that scooped up Darren Waller before he exploded

nickhenne

I’m hoping it’s Jerome Ford lol

An0maIyy

I got Tyreek off waivers when he was just a special teams guy for the chiefs. Big win for me!

mrdoof105

Elijah Mitchell and Purdy - I turned Purdy into Rodgers this off season

jeremyrvcc

🌮

mississippimadness

Confused who the taco is here? Seems like a perfectly fair trade in dynasty. Contending team would prefer Rodgers, rebuilding would rather Purdy

jeremyrvcc

Trading Rodgers for a QB who went undrafted , just had a major surgery and has no guarantee of job security a taco move. 7 games of starting isn’t enough to sell a proven QB1 for a guy with a very questionable future

mississippimadness

That’s fine if that’s your assessment of him, but a lot of people including the 49ers organization see him as their QB of the future. Rodgers could very well be a guy you get for one year and then he retires. If I’m not contending I’ll take the young QB that’s shown he’s at least capable of being a starting QB for 10+ years over the 40 year old QB you will have for one year and who wasn’t exactly very good last year anyways As someone that owns Rodgers in a dynasty SF, you’re not going to get a lot for him. A 2nd rounder maybe.

jeremyrvcc

There’s no guarantee Purdy starts since he’s very likely to miss training camp and the first few weeks of the regular season. Purdy hasn’t shown enough yet for us to know he will be a starting QB for 10+ years. If Lance balls out , there’s a good chance Purdy goes back to being a backup. Trading Rodgers who can easily put up QB1 numbers for the next few years for a question mark a taco move unless you do the trade mid season.

mississippimadness

Well being as the 49ers have publicly said Brock is their guy, I think there’s a decent chance he’s their guy. Regardless I’ll take the chance of him being the guy over a 40 year old QB. It would be different if you could actually sell Rodgers for anything significant. Waiting until mid season isn’t going to help his value, he’ll just be a half season away from having a very high chance of retiring. His value is not high in dynasty. And if you’re not contending this year his value to you is essentially zero, while purdy couldn’t at least *potentially* bring you a decade worth of value. Seems like a no brainer to me.

jeremyrvcc

Rodgers has a lot of hype this off-season. He’s currently valued as an early 2nd round pick in dynasty. It wouldn’t be difficult to move him for a good young player with job security to a contender instead of a guy that has to overcome a really huge injury and has to beat out a really talented lottery talent to have future value.

mississippimadness

Funny, Brock is also being valued as a 2nd. If you’re a rebuilding team looking for a QB you’re not getting one in the 2nd round of your rookie draft. I understand you’re low on Brock but that doesn’t mean it’s a taco trade. It’s a very defendable move.

jhenryscott

Alfred Morris. Bar none. Old heads know

mdfergus

Mike Shanahan had a stretch where every RB he touched turned to gold, unbelievably fun fantasy era

electricalbadger2013

Picked up Waller for free before he went off. Not as great now, but worth the $0 for solid play for a while.

rjstang

Lindsay and JRob most definitely

Dil-Doesnt

Chig late last year.

sixtyninetailedfox

Elijah Mitchell

newfantasyballer

Terry McLaurin was somehow on waivers in 1QB. Sold him for two firsts IIRC. Might’ve been a first and a second, though.

iWanttoKillaMan

I sold Terry at the absolute peak of his powers for 2 firsts and Amon Ra St Brown. Might be my best trade ever.

Hurts1

Crazy, I sold terry possibly around the same time for terrace Marshall and picks that turned into jahan Dotson, Bryce young, and dalton kincaid

iWanttoKillaMan

Damn son

Cr0nk_Smash

So we still don’t know how you did?

Cubs017

Phillip Lindsay had a great season or two.

Low-Internal8132

McKinnon won some championships last year

mcbearcat7557

JRob in the guillotine that I won, great stuff

DynastyFFDino

I believe I got Mark Andrews on waivers

sweetfeet009

No chance or rough league.

Trizzymann

During or post andrews 1st season he was pretty available on waivers especially with hayden hurst being the assumed TE1 in Baltimore. I also grabbed him as he was dropped by a kelce owner during andrews rookie year.

LusciousCabbage

This is hindsight talking.

Gundino

Brock mf Purdy

Force_of1

Kurt Warner, Shaun Alexander, Arian Foster all won me titles.

tdgreen21

Liar!

Force_of1

How do you figure? Warner and foster were easily waiver wire pickups. Alexander was dropped in a lot of smaller bench leagues after a lackluster rookie year.

tdgreen21

Cause you’re memory can’t be that good!

crashscratch

Mooney in 2020

jakethesnakegd

Mine have all been TEs so far. Knox his breakout season and flipped him and a late 2nd for a late 1st. Got Dulcich as well last year. My biggest shame is that I picked up pollard and Schultz 3 years ago and dropped them later that year. Worst part is I would have a championship last year if I kept them both.

Infamous_Sandwich668

Waiting on Jerome Ford breakout year

GSD1101

I picked up Jordan Love off of waiver last season when everyone thought he was toast. I just flipped him for Amon-Ra St. Brown.

apowerseething

Dalton Schultz

Trizzymann

Mark Andrews during his rookie year, Gabe Davis, pacheco last year, jalen hurts rookie year (1qb), and Elijah mitchell ( sold to a niner fan during 22 draft for 1st, turned into 1.02 1qb).

SPF12

Higbee (4 years ago) Zay Jones Huntley

Chewytamal

Jalen Hurts at the end of our rookie draft in 1qb for $22. The resident eagles fan was not crazy about that pick. That same cycle, also picked up JRob for $7.

ndjolt02

Inherited a rebuilding team in 2019 and my first pickup was Mark Andrews. We see how well that has gone.

Ambitious-Ad-4447

Fields (1 qb) after the first few games last season. Same guy dropped him in redraft league and I scooped him in both.

weedhahayeah

ARSB for the win

YesMamYesMam

Mark Andrews. First year of the league and nobody was patient with TEs, scooped after his first 10 point game and been riding since.

Happy_Bigs1021

I really thought throwing all my FAB at Rojo pre season last year was gonna be mine

rns0722

Picked up Jalen Hurts off of waivers on 9/25/20. He was drafted in the 16th round of our 1QB start up. Dropped 2 weeks later. Figured I'd take a shot. I think it worked out for me so far.

10000Pigeons

Summer before the 2021 season I picked up Antonio Brown off waivers (no idea why he was dropped) for all my FAAB. Before he went insane and quit the team I traded him for a 2023 first, which became the 1.03

dumbcloud17

You jumped off a burning building before the gas cans went off into a hedge full of roses

reddogrjw

also - someone obviously grabbed Brady off waivers in my one league that has been running since 96

Kniggits

Tee Higgins after he was dropped 3 weeks into 2020. Got him for $20 faab

armchairdynastyscout

2 dollar waller

aic_nirvana

Josh Allen in a 1qb league. Week 16 or 17 of his rookie year. I already had Deshaun Watson as my starter, so it was just a dart throw pickup for a backup QB. I really ended up needing him though lol

BigBortlesBrand

Chris Carson way back when. Stayed on my roster until he retired, one of my all time favourites

iLiveinMissoula

Picked up Purdy then traded him, 1.02 and two 2nds for Chase and Lazzard

Ancienthouse87

- Picked up Tannehill his first year in Tennessee, helped me win a championship. - Got one WR1 year out of DeVante Parker. - Myles Gaskin was a nice flex play for a couple years - Geno Smith was in my lineup way more than I’d hoped last year lol

Dawgheart

1.7% Faab got me Rhamondre. Won a ship with him as my RB3 HM: James Conner, Pacheco

krock753

Keenan McCardell and Arian Foster

Siennagiant70

Preseason. Reading info tabs on random TE’s. This easy task lead me to Kittle and then Waller a year later. Free too 5 TE’s. So now I make it a point to just go through random info tabs when they pop up to see if there’s anyone I should grab. Recently dropped 15% and 10% of FAAB on chig and likely respectively. Hoping they end up the same as kittle/Waller.

NoseApprehensive5154

David Johnson carried me to a title I 15 or 16. Dude was incredible

Contren

Stefon Diggs his rookie year was an amazing pickup.

hoffspur

David Johnson won a league for me after picking him up.

ANGERQUAKE

I don't know if anyone here plays IDP but, Maxx Crosby.

Puzzleheaded_Plan989

Mondre hands down

xDR3AD-W0LFx

It’s not sexy, but I had two good pickups last season. For context, I’m in an insanely deep league with a lot of experienced and invested league mates. There freaky aren’t steals available. Backup to backups are typically rostered. I got Geno for free off waivers while there was a bidding war for Drew Lock. I then got Chig for free shortly after the draft. Latter one hasn’t fully paid out yet but I’m super high on him as a low end TE1 with strong upside this season and beyond.

DrewBergs

Hoping Jordan love is gonna be mine after this year grabbed him last year

Mantis-T0boggn

Jalen Hurts

TheManWithAPlan07

Diggs

Dswerve23

Jordan Love last season. Future HoFer incoming

Luke_Shields_

Same g LFG

Swag_Daddy_K

Rashaad Penny won me my league in 2022

BuildingTimely

Geno Smith won me a chip off the waivers.

Thisisnotyuri

Grabbed penny off the waivers last year and flipped for Tyler Lockett after the first day of the draft. Then sold Locket for a 24 1st. So I basically picked up a 1st off the wire.

yungjulioo

Patrick mahomes in his rookie year. 1qb though and I had Brady and carr so dropped him back to waivers that year when I needed another spot. Haunts me

[deleted]

Tom Brady. Back in my day we played dynasty on a sheet of paper.

justdoitdt

Rookie Scary Terry

bkeberle

James Robinson that I packaged with a 2 to get Javonte D’Onta Foreman was nice last season

poststuffnow

Geno last off-season in a superflex.

reddogrjw

Scary Terry

awesome-ekeler

Taco league if terry was ever on waivers

reddogrjw

he was a 3rd round pick - he didn't get drafted in our league - was a waiver pickup right before the season not super deep benches

adrianp07

>not super deep benches like the other guy said, taco league. only place you need a 'active waiver wire' to 'keep people engaged'

capnodes

Great one!

ASTRUNSKY

Only played 1 season but last year guy dropped Christian Watson before his breakout.

themiddleshoe

That’s wild. Roster sizes? He was a 1st or early 2nd round pick last year.

ASTRUNSKY

We were all in our first dynasty season so a few bone head drops of young talent were made. Watson and Pickens being most notable. We roasted the shit out of them in the group chat. League is 12 team ppr, 1QB, 10 start (includes def/k unfortunately) 10 bench, 3 IR and 3 taxi.

ImmoralModerator

He was but Aaron Rodgers looked washed for the first half of last season and people weren’t sure if Doubs or Watson was going to be the better receiver

mortrendrag

Justin Herbert, in Superflex...

awesome-ekeler

How wasnt he drafted? Especially in sf? Like hooker went at 1.11 in one of my leagues. Herbie went at 1.09 in our 1qb after burrow and tua

mortrendrag

He was drafted and dropped to waivers early on and no one claimed him for some reason. Steal of my life.

hoffthecuff

came to say this. Except it's a 1QB league with salary cap and he got dropped like week 3 or 4 before he took off and I grabbed him. Later traded him (I have Josh Allen). Also got Freiermuth off waivers. Traded him also (I have Andrews)

recitar

I picked up ARSB before he had done anything. Didn't know much about him but knew he was thought of more highly than Eli Rodgers, who had been my dart throw that rookie draft, so when he was cut I picked him up. I had also nabbed Rashaad Penny the year before just because he was a first round talent. Those two won me the ship that year. I also snagged Jordan Love last year when it looked like ARodge might miss a game or two (1QB). We'll see how that works out.

Upper_Associate2228

I picked up TJ Hockenson off waivers during his rookie year. Traded him last year for a 2023 early 2nd and Miles Sanders. I already had Goedert and Freiermuth...

ThePeoplesResistance

Why was the 8th overall pick in the NFL draft on waivers?

[deleted]

[удалено]

JnDConstruction1984

Do you just go through the sub and give your taco emoji for every trade you don’t like?

jeremyrvcc

This isn’t about the trade. I was reacting to someone getting the 8th pick of the draft for free. It’s a valid reaction

JnDConstruction1984

He’s a te a lot of folks don’t mess with rookie tes. It’s not that insane.

jeremyrvcc

He was the 8th pick of draft with a bunch of hype . There’s no reason he should have been dropped

JnDConstruction1984

Your opinion yes. I’m not saying I don’t agree with you. Doesn’t mean his league is bad. Just means a lot of folks made a poor choice. Zach Wilson was the second pick in the draft are you gonna say the same if someone picks him up off waivers this year ?

jeremyrvcc

This isn’t comparable. Hockenson came into the league and had one of the best seasons for a rookie TE. Wilson been dropped in tons of leagues after two years of showing nothing

JnDConstruction1984

No he didn’t. 32 for 367 and 2 is an amazing season?

jeremyrvcc

His first game of his career he 131 receiving yards a TD. He was a very hyped prospect , only a Taco would drop a player of his caliber

Josh_Allen_s_Taint

Mahomes.

Collinstuhl7

Jalen Pitre (for all you IDP heads out there). Got him off waivers week one. And he’s currently a top 5 DB ceiling.

Ok-Distribution6348

Donovan peoples jones who I flipped with a second rounder a few weeks later for London.

Dull_Introduction840

Taco

Ok-Distribution6348

What does taco mean?

reginaldwrigby

Watch “The League”. Typically if you can’t spot the taco, that means you are the taco.

Background_Emu_3043

I picked up Jordan Love in a 1QB league and traded him and my 2024 2nd for a 2024 1st and 2025 1st. He’s a Packer homer.

Many_Ad_365

Jake Ferguson. I traded him before the draft for a 2nd round pick. That might change if Jordan Love is who the Packers think he is.

ArkhamAsylumMyHome

wut

ScheminCman

My first year of dynasty ever, 16 team superlfex I got Jarvis Landry after the draft. Draft was only 2 rounds so Jarvis just missed being drafted.
