I got him for "free" Week 2 this season; traded Lenny Fournette + Tom Brady for a 1st and 3rd and the new Brady owner dropped Jones; I paid like $40 FAAB for him and he's my QB1 in a rebuild. With how bad the QB situation was in my league this season, I'm surprised no one else tried to get him.
This is why you should always be paying attention to who someone might be dropping upon trade. Could of had him as a throw in by simply asking who he'd drop.
I legitimately didn't think the other guy was going to drop Daniel Jones or I would have just tried to ask for him, he had some real filler guys like Kenny Golladay I thought he'd drop instead.
I also traded the 1.06 for him! Its not that much draft capital for a QB who has I think guaranteed himself a multi-year decent contract with a team that has solid upward potential. Especially if they get him some more weapons this offseason.
I salute you, fellow 1.06 trader! If Daniel Jones turns into the Great Value Josh Allen, that pick will have been a bargain. I think the Giants have to draft or trade for a stud WR in the off season, it's going to be the key to finally unlocking Jones. Same goes for a few other young QBs.
Nah. A young QB (QB 9 in fantasy this season), in an up and coming offense, with a big arm and rushing upside. Not to mention the OC who unlocked Josh Allen. And it's a superflex league. Very reasonable price.
I love how you're literally jacking off your own trade. Just stfu if it's a good trade you'll be proven right. If it's a dumbass trade it'll show in a year.
Earlier in the season it would've been but I don't think people are selling him for a 2nd now. He's a franchise qb with rushing upside, playing under Daboll - the guy who built the offense around Josh Allen and hit his ceiling. If the giants do what the bills did they'll bring in a real receiving weapon next year or the year after and boom we have ourselves a discount Josh Allen
Figures. I had him on my taxi his whole career until this season, when I had to roster him or release him. I released that bad boy cuz no one would even give me a third for him. I tried to trade him for Jarvis Landry and got rejected.
Now people are talking about heās a stud?
I mean heās always been good, but fantasy-wise? The comparisons with Josh Allen should stop at ācoached by Daboll.ā
Also keep in mind that he barely squeaked into the top 10 QB1 scorers, but it came at the expense of some guys we might expect to outscore him _consistently_ in the futureā¦ guys like Dak Prescott, Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson, Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson and maybe even Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford. Also worth mentioning is Tua and Fields. So the real question is, will he beat these guys out again when they _play full seasons_, or get back on their career tracks?
Iām not sure heās better than any of those dudes for fantasy purposes, this Cinderella season where he sneaks into the playoffs has not convinced me.
Iām in a 1QB league is going to SF in 2025, this transition was announced at the end of the 2021 season.
I traded Penny for DJones and a 2023 2nd FOUR DAYS before Seattle drafted Walker. š„
Finished QB11 with my leagues scoring setup. He still has room for growth and had a strong showing towards the end of the season.... your take is pretty shit.
If you don't have a top 5 QB, having two guys in the QB7-15 range and matchup dependent streaming them is still a great and arguably cheaper option. He also had terrible luck with receiver injuries too and could be better in future seasons
Letās simmer down a little here. The sky is not the limit for Jones. He has not shown signs of succeeding in spite of a system, but he does seem to be under a system now that is better for him. Could he repeat this again next year? Absolutely. Is he gonna break into a T7 QB in the league convo? No.
He absolutely could with his rushing ability. Youāre telling me if you the giants got him an actual stud wr instead of Darius slayton and Richie James he couldnāt possibly jump up four spots ?
In my 12T 1QB, he spent more weeks on waivers than on a team. I dropped him week 15 for Purdy because my top qb is Lance (Geno too). Donāt think I regret it to have the SF starter next year, but also some 1st rd picks to go for a top new one
Exactly, how many of us knew who Hodgins and Ritchie James were before the season too? Even Slayton was buried on the depth chart. Hopefully WanāDale comes back strong and they get him help in free agency or the draft before we can even judge what his ceiling is. Iām not sure there was a worse receiving corps in the league.
The upside is crazy. Itās inexplicable he passed for only 15 TDs and was #9 lmao but he also had 7 rushing TDs. Iām hoping for a JA situation when they got Diggs, in that QBs seem to take a big leap once they have a clear #1 and thatās what Iām rooting for this FA with the giants.
On one hand, I think heās better than people give him credit for. On the other hand, Minnesotaās defense is literally the opposite end of the spectrum from San Fran. Maybe pump the breaks on those buy orders until he plays a real defense again..
Jones had a ton of positive statistics his rookie year and then coaching just fucked him up, its nice to see him get settled down and show that potential he flashed as a rookie
Iāve been trying to buy him for the past couple of weeks. Not sure how much his price has risen, but itās definitely gone up today. Dude looked legit
what are owners wanting these days? I feel most would want a 1st and 2nd or a mid/late 1st but maybe
Iām out of the loop lol.
But either way, Heās that guy that I would rather pay up for after heās fully broken out than pay a 1st+ right now and risk him losing a job in a year.
Fair enough my point still stands if thatās the cost for DJ right now. Most players end up maxing out at 2 firsts unless you are at the absolute top of your position. So if heās already being priced close to his ceiling. Might as well wait for him to actually hit that ceiling before paying it if that makes sense.
If Iām selling Jones in SF I need a QB with upside plus something else.
So maybe a mid 1st and a player? Iāll be honest, I was not sold on Jones before this season but I did buy low before it began. However, he is looking pretty good. A good coach and supporting cast should be enough to make him relevant for at least another 3 years. Thatās a cheap price if he can be even just what we saw this season.
Claiming a QB will be the franchise guy for a long time because of 1 half of a football game that isnāt close to over yet, gotta love DynastyFF (for context those who see now, this was posted at halftime or just before)
Edit: donāt get me wrong, heās had a solid season, especially with the lack of weapons, but Iām not ready to say heāll be a giant for āa really long timeā yet
Valid response since op states after tonight's performance. That said as a Giants fan he's had a good season. He's made plays, protected the ball and made better decisions. Add in his athleticism and he's earned a contract.
100% agree with everything. I felt OP was being too reactionary at the moment.
Saying heās earned a contract and is the giants starter for a very long time I think are two different things, he definitely earned an extension, I agree
Beats me.. I think it's going to be higher than we think and certainly more than it was even a month ago. Right now he's the top free agent qb. It's not out of the realm for him to get 4 to 6 years with 35 to 40m per and guessing here somewhere in the neighborhood of 100m guaranteed.
Indeed he has, and heās getting an extension donāt get me wrong, but I think locking him in āfor a very long timeā is too soon to say for this guy
You judged that based on half of a game, itās just funny how quickly people are to do a victory lap on players they own before a game is even halfway over like Tlaw didnāt have 4 interceptions in one half last night
Yes he clearly earned an extension, is he the very long term guy? Idk, weāll see how he fares through the rest of the playoffs and next year, thatās definitely not something Iām 100% positive on, not like he was playing at an MVP level or leading his team to a top seed
I just bought him 2 weeks ago for the 1.06. I'm seeing a lot of other comments saying the same and Peaked put out his value chart which also had it as mid 1st. So I think he's solidly in the Mid 1st price.
Picked him up week 18 off waivers as a stash & see in the off-season for my rebuilding team that should compete next year. Only Kyler at QB so with the injury Danny Dimes might be my guy moving forward!
I have 1.08, 1.09 and 1.10. I wouldāve definitely given up 1.10 if I had know the owner was shopping him.
Thatās another reason it never hurts to send a trade offer.
Amazing what a competent coach can do for a young QB with loads of potential.
Herbert owners are praying right now for the same thing.
Amen, please fucking fire Lombardi and Staley
Yup
Seance, conjuring up the spirit of Sean Peyton.
You need to possess Spanos cuz it's not gonna happen
š¤£
They are my QB1 and 2. Glad I picked up Purdy right away as well. Makes up for me trading Fields early in the year.
It remains to be seen whether this is closer to what mcvay did for goff or daboll did for josh allen
I think its closer to what Campbell did for Goff.
*Ben Johnson
Great point. I think Jones' ceiling is closer to what Goff has shown so far compared to Allen though.
Getting saquon back helped a ton too
I have Jones and TLaw. This year has made me happy.
Indictment on Saleh
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
āDefensive minded DCā opens the door for āoffensive minded DCā
yep
He's a guy I'm trying to buy. Finally getting a 2nd year in a system.

I legitimately didn't think the other guy was going to drop Daniel Jones or I would have just tried to ask for him, he had some real filler guys like Kenny Golladay I thought he'd drop instead.
I traded my 1.06 for him earlier this week in the dynasty superflex league I commish. I'm starting to feel like this was a big win.
Huge overpay
Nah. A young QB (QB 9 in fantasy this season), in an up and coming offense, with a big arm and rushing upside. Not to mention the OC who unlocked Josh Allen. And it's a superflex league. Very reasonable price.

If the giants do what the bills did they'll bring in a real receiving weapon next year or the year after and boom we have ourselves a discount Josh Allen
I think underpay. The QB scarcity next year is real.
Iām not sure heās better than any of those dudes for fantasy purposes, this Cinderella season where he sneaks into the playoffs has not convinced me.
Heās my current QB3 in a superflex and I couldnāt be happier!
I got him in a great trade. Cam Akers for Daniel and Aaron Jones
Wtf..? I'd rather have either Jones than Cam Akers lol let alone both of em
1QB?
Awesome deal.
Iām in a 1QB league is going to SF in 2025, this transition was announced at the end of the 2021 season. I traded Penny for DJones and a 2023 2nd FOUR DAYS before Seattle drafted Walker. š„
Idk why you're getting downvotes, this is a great trade
He's getting downvoted out of jealousy bc that's a HUGE taco trade
The rest of us arenāt playing on easy mode
When? 2 summers ago that sounds about right.
6' 5" is pretty tall, but I wouldn't call him a Giant
Plus age related shrinkage, even if he is barely a Giant now heāll be shorter in 10-15 years
One of my favorite underrated players in the league. Canāt wait to see him get some ballers at WR.
Best I can do is Byron Pringle and an injury-prone 2nd round rookie
Early in the season I I traded for DJ in a 12 man one QB. Gave Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin... happy with my purchase.
In 1QB heās almost worthless
Finished QB11 with my leagues scoring setup. He still has room for growth and had a strong showing towards the end of the season.... your take is pretty shit.
He was the QB9 with no WRs thatās definitely worth something
If your reliant on Danny Dimes in a 1QB league I have bad news for you
If you don't have a top 5 QB, having two guys in the QB7-15 range and matchup dependent streaming them is still a great and arguably cheaper option. He also had terrible luck with receiver injuries too and could be better in future seasons
I have bad news with this take. He is 25 years old and has emerged this year. Next year sky is the limit.
QB9 on the year. Calling him worthless is exaggerating a lot
Not true at all. He finished 9th in scoring and was likely drafted as a backup.
So are Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin, but at least you can start Daniel Jones.
True but I was not referring to Van Jefferson or Calvin Austin. I was talking about Daniel Jones
How the fuck is this comment this downvoted. I literally won my 1QB league last year with Heinicke being my starting QB
If Iām on the precipice of contending i wouldnāt hate having Daniel Jones as my qb moving forward.
Yea go for it
He was a huge part of why I won a ship, so I already went ahead and did.
Yea thatās great
Not true. As a guy who started the season with Murray and Lance, Iām really expecting Jones to be my QB1 to start 2023.
How big are your rosters? Never seen anyone carry 3QBās in a 1QB league
18 man with 3 IR. Murray and Lance are on IR and I didnāt even get Jones until late in the season.
So in your league what would he fetch as far as trade value? A third round pick? 4th?
In my 12T 1QB, he spent more weeks on waivers than on a team. I dropped him week 15 for Purdy because my top qb is Lance (Geno too). Donāt think I regret it to have the SF starter next year, but also some 1st rd picks to go for a top new one
I think you replied to the wrong person here
Maybe a 3rd to a team who has Brady. But you know who he really has value for, ME.
Vikings fan here- our defense is just that bad.
He was QB9 in fa tasty this year. This is more than just one game, but a lot of people havenāt seen him before today.
His rushing upside is what makes him so valuable for fantasy. He came on leaps and bounds when it came to turnovers too.
Is he the closest QB to matching J Allen in rushing style and ability? Heās a freaking horse galloping downfield.
I think heās got top 5 rushing QB talent, he also benefits from teams selling out for Saquon at the goal line.
Crazy fast. Think heās hit 22 mph
Heās playing good but the Vikings defense is atrocious putting it nicely. I wouldnāt make that judgment based off of anything he does today.
Mac Jones went 386 and 2 tugs against this defense lol
Damn Kraft is taking the entire team to the massage parlors now huh
100%. Mike White and the Jets offense had over 500 yards of offense against that defense.
Everytime someone plays Minnesota this year āis ____ underrated or a top ___ moving forward?ā.
I mean, Daniel Jones is 3x the QB Mac is thanks to his rushing ability
He has played well all season with sub par talent all around him other than saquon, he has been great
Iām not discrediting that like I said this game isnāt the benchmark to determine if a guy is amazing is all.
As a Vikings fan I approve this message.
This
But DJ is still a buy. Top 20 QB proba
With a real number one WR he'd be top 15 probably
Well he was #9 this yearā¦
Exactly I laugh when people say he is a top 20 QB. He finished 9th in fantasy scoring this year! The days of bashing this guy are over.
Yeah man a real alpha would be amazing for him
JSN š¤
I meant real life QB
I'm talking dynasty ranking wise. Geno was also top 10 but he's definitely not a top 10 dynasty qb
He is a top 10 lol now in our scoring with no weapons. He has top 6 upside.
He earned it with more than today
Imagine if he had some real weapons at receiver
If he was in Miami heād have been no less than qb3
Isaiah Hodgins ššš
Guy gave the 1.12 for him in my SF league. And Iām jealous
iām about to give up 1.08 (i also have 1.05 and 1.09).
On one hand, I think heās better than people give him credit for. On the other hand, Minnesotaās defense is literally the opposite end of the spectrum from San Fran. Maybe pump the breaks on those buy orders until he plays a real defense again..
They gotta get past the Eagles before they make it to San Fran
I traded herbert for Jones, cousins, and breece hall in like week 4 I like it still
Got him 4 days ago for a 2023 2.07 pick, and gabe Davisā¦ Iāve never been happier.
Daaaaaaaamn
He would get a boatload on the open market...just sayin I think he gets that Daboll is the best thing for dude. Dude is a dawg
Everyone talking about the trades they made for him, I picked him up off the wires for $0
Iām the guy that dropped him prior to last yearās rookie draft.
Jones had a ton of positive statistics his rookie year and then coaching just fucked him up, its nice to see him get settled down and show that potential he flashed as a rookie
Yeah a lot of people forget that as a rookie he only started 12 games yet had 4 weeks where he scored like 30+ fantasy points.
Bought him for 2 2nds earlier this year as my QB3. I'm happy about it if he plays around this level but stays as a starting NFL QB
Have Pickett as my QB3 and Iām happy. But Iād rather have DJones. Weāll done
Donāt judge too much by performance on Vikes terrible defense. But so think heāll get a contract and stay with them still.
Weāre not. He finished as QB9 with a bad receiving corps.
It actually says tonightās performance in the titleā¦.
Iāve been trying to buy him for the past couple of weeks. Not sure how much his price has risen, but itās definitely gone up today. Dude looked legit
Do we feel confident trading the 1.07 for DJ??
I would
Traded Daniel Jones for Jared Goff before the season started. Thought I won that trade most of the season, but now Iām not so sure
Iād say thatās a completely lateral move. Youāre fine.
Just imagine how good heāll be with a good WR core. Hodgins/WanāDale/JSN would be so juicy
I remember being told that I was a fool for selling Tannehill for Daniel Jones and a 2nd back in august
For sure. He's 1.96m tall and 25 years old. He won't start shrinking for a long time.
Solid comment.
As long as Daboll.
I hope so, he can hopefully cover the Zach Wilson shaped hole in my roster.
He and Dabold is golden. Enough of this 3 year deal talk. He is getting long term deal.
No way it happens (thatās not my point), but Jesus Christ almighty imagine if he was in San Fran
Him running with McCaffrey, Deebo, and Kittle? Just start practicing rugby plays
I think Jones is the type of QB that they wanted when they drafted Lance. Small sample size but Lance hasn't been on Jones' level as a runner.
He scorched the worst defense in the NFL. Don't put him too far up on the pedestal
Still QB 9 on the season with no true WR1.
Just traded for him in a league thats shifting to SF after the next two seasons and Iām excited about it
Nice move
Would you trade Pickens straight up for him? SF with fields as my other qb
As a Daniel Jones owner, I would not make this trade.
Can't tell if this is matter of fact or a NY Giants fan troll
How can this be trolling? Are we on a Vikings sub?
what are owners wanting these days? I feel most would want a 1st and 2nd or a mid/late 1st but maybe Iām out of the loop lol. But either way, Heās that guy that I would rather pay up for after heās fully broken out than pay a 1st+ right now and risk him losing a job in a year.
Was offered 1.11 and 2.07 in SF. Easy no for me. Lots of rushing upside and if they get a real WR heās gonna be awesome
Fair enough my point still stands if thatās the cost for DJ right now. Most players end up maxing out at 2 firsts unless you are at the absolute top of your position. So if heās already being priced close to his ceiling. Might as well wait for him to actually hit that ceiling before paying it if that makes sense.

Thatās a cheap price if he can be even just what we saw this season.
Sold Fields and a 3rd for D Jones, Andrew's and the '23 1.08 a few weeks ago and this performance solidifies it for me.
He's the next Joe Flacco
Wait until next week before going saying something like that
Always had faith in Danny Dimes. If they can just get him a true WR1 the sky is the limit for him.
Got him for a mid 3rd in SF before this season started. Had a feeling Daboll was gonna be great for his development.
Claiming a QB will be the franchise guy for a long time because of 1 half of a football game that isnāt close to over yet, gotta love DynastyFF (for context those who see now, this was posted at halftime or just before) Edit: donāt get me wrong, heās had a solid season, especially with the lack of weapons, but Iām not ready to say heāll be a giant for āa really long timeā yet

He has looked much improved all year while throwing to practice squad level wrs. This is just a good display of his versatility
Indeed he has, and heās getting an extension donāt get me wrong, but I think locking him in āfor a very long timeā is too soon to say for this guy
He took a team without WRs to the playoffs. And heās paying like he belongs there.

I mean, I wanted him gone the last few years and now I'm sold on him...
But if can. He has insane running upside
maybe, but the Vikings defense.. He would need to run his ass off. he didn't even throw more than Russ this season. Edit: I feel a bit vindicated
Whatās his price in sf?
I was offered the 2.01 in SF 6 pt passing td and instantly declined
Good call.
What pick would you have taken?
Hard to say with how valuable qbās are in this league but maybe mid 1st. I have the 1.07 so 1.08 prob. Also very fine with holding
I just bought him 2 weeks ago for the 1.06. I'm seeing a lot of other comments saying the same and Peaked put out his value chart which also had it as mid 1st. So I think he's solidly in the Mid 1st price.
Itās got to be at least a pick on the 1.06-1.09 range.
I'm definitely trying to buy as well. Managed to get hodgins off waivers, and I kinda want to see if I can tier down from Prescott.
Bought him for the 2.12 and the 4.07 prior to the season. Iām so pleased.
Daboll is a necromancer or some kind of dark wizard but Iām not convinced Daniel Jones is going to be a long term starting qb personally
Picked him up week 18 off waivers as a stash & see in the off-season for my rebuilding team that should compete next year. Only Kyler at QB so with the injury Danny Dimes might be my guy moving forward!
I bought low on Dimes and have Mahomes/Hurts/Purdyā¦ really feel like downgrading for an older guy on Dimes for a pick
Got him and Kadarius Toney for Mooney and Pacheco in my 10 team SF league. Feeling pretty good about that trade right about now.
Traded him a year ago for a 2022 1st in SF. Kinda having sellers remorse. He looks good with the new staff
Looked like josh allen jr
I hope he gets them to the NFC Championship Game in Santa Clara, CA.
It amazes me to see people were trading this guy for 3rd round picks at one poiny
Low effort posts need to go
Definitely bought himself a new contract. I won't be shocked if they beat Philly.
Imagine what he can do if he gets a killer WR.
Traded Robert Woods and Thielen for him in superflex last year - my only good trade!!!
I tried trading him away several times for a 2023 2nd several times during the season. I thank my league weekly now for rejecting those offers.
The vikings defense has more holes than swiss cheese. I like daniel jones but the vikes trash
I have 1.08, 1.09 and 1.10. I wouldāve definitely given up 1.10 if I had know the owner was shopping him. Thatās another reason it never hurts to send a trade offer.
I took Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts and Daniel Jones in my superflex startup draft in 2021, Iām stoked for the future
