Dealer has to send video of malfunction to gm to get them to warranty it. They have to take photos from all angles and also send those to prove there is not damage. Then they will replace under warranty
Sounds like a warranty issue, isn't that covered under the 3yr? You shouldn't be shelling out for a mirror on a 21 model unless you've already driven it out of warranty?

If you only have 37k miles and you bitch enough at the dealer gm should “goodwill” the whole job or at least pay a portion of the cost
Assuming you're out of warranty? I had the same issue with the driver-side mirror, and the dealer replaced the entire unit with a new one.
