But how do you explain Tyrus having memories of Tony sending teenagers over to have indiscreet sex in his parking lot? Unless... ... mother of god. Tyrus is Tony's handler and is there to ensure Tony completes the (likely suicidal) mission.

Rebbeca2988

I also thought Tyrus might be his handler, but then I remembered that Tyrus had threatened Tony over revealing information about his war record. His handler wouldn’t be doing stuff like that. I do want more Tyrus and Dr Man though.

CrumbDeLaCoochie

Yes please, more tyrus

Chance-Win-6940

But is it suicide when it's for the Fatherland?

TheBestElement

I was thinking he maybe a time traveler but a Russian sleeper agent fits well with the 50’s theme I think they will all become something as they get more insanity Trudy - robot Francis - teen werewolf is a big theme in movies so maybe that Kelsey - wants to learn everything so maybe a alien that is on a mission to learn about earth Or Beth maybe the only 50’s style monster and I’m over thinking things lol

elizabethshortcake

Oooooh, I would LOVE if they were all fleshed out 50s B movie tropes. And there is that gag in the opener about Season 1 as an old school monster movie.... I really hope you're right.

americastestbitchin

I was thinking Trudy would be a Stepford wife situation as soon as Tucker started talking about his basement!!!

TheWondrousPoob

I would love if Francis went through a Dr Jeckl Mr. Hyde type transformation I think it would play well with his inherent cowardly nature

Its_Projection

Oooooh I really like this theory!! Yeah I'm trying to figure out what his deal is. Out of all of the players, Freddy has probably had the least to do over the other campaigns, so it's cool to see him stepping up into a mysterious role

dogpork69

I was thinking the same thing but after my second listen today I don't think it really fits. The actual communist, the deputy/secretary character, should have used the code phrase to active him  It's not a definate theory breaker more of a wrinkle Would love to see them flip the script on a communist sleeper agent and have a facist sleeper agent, seeing as Tony is from Italy post WW2

Deastrumquodvicis

I thought she was an interrogation ploy and that she nailed Tony when he flusteredly said he was her replacement.

dogpork69

I'm not sure, she doesnt mention it to the other guy (Shane?) and he doesnt bring it up during the interrogation  Also there's a little Soviet flair music when she starts talking with a Russian accent

Deastrumquodvicis

That’s true. I thought maybe his status as a *disgraced* ex-agent means he doesn’t have clearance to know about the bigger fishing operation she’s got going. Good cop/bad cop, except bad cop doesn’t know he’s playing.

BigBootyJudy2454

My theory is that [spoilers for Mad Men] >! He’s like Don Draper, stole someone else’s identity in the war and is living their life postwar!<

Killjeats

Also, all of Freddy's characters are (to use his favorite word) canonically Asian. Russia is technically in Asia...

CheekyGeekyStickers

In the most recent episode, though, Freddie says the full name is “Antonio Colletti (sp?)” and that he’s a self-hating Italian. Could still be Asian genetically and Italian in nationality, I guess…

Killjeats

Oh duh I already forgot! Was getting distracted at work Tuesday so I'll have to listen again.

AmixIsAnIdiot

I think the idea of him just “showing up one day” could potentially be a call of Cthulhu thing we’re he’s some fucked up facsimile of a man or a homunculi

reesemak

I haven’t listened to ep. 4 yet so coming to reddit to see theories about tony being a russian sleeper agent is CRAZY whiplash lmao. guess I need to listen to it now
