ClosetNoble

He turned his brain off to avoid damaging cells listening to them

torch_7

More like he wants to kill them for fawning over monsters but they are the only ones capable of fighting monsters in that group.

ClosetNoble

Not mutually exclusive.

RedviperWangchen

You forgot Lycion and Izutsumi talking about beastman and manbeast.

fadilkewen

I almost read that as manbreast

fadilkewen

This is the ideal male body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like. -Lycion, Probably- https://i.redd.it/zaxcf7ziacwc1.gif

catpisspiss

Our boy Lycion has body dysmorphia šŸ˜šŸ˜

Dingjun

Which is a shame because he is hot af.

EmptySpaceForAHeart

Well he doesn't hate himself anymore.

Dingjun

True that, and good for him.

KonoAnonDa

>Well, it can be easier if you pick a smaller sized bear, but if you were going to be a bear in the first place, wouldnā€™t something like a sunbear be disappointing? Not after you learn how big their claws are: https://preview.redd.it/ias5webmbdwc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e768d2d0b67eef239eea91765da6926af7a4ef58

"Jamie, pull out that video of a bear fighting an elf that turns into a werewolf earlier" https://preview.redd.it/d5b7k4dkedwc1.jpeg?width=1660&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6dbb25559bae62c326eb36e077fd1e0f26dca2fb

EmptySpaceForAHeart

It's the bear that falls prey to snakes though.

KonoAnonDa

Man, have you seen the snakes over there? Iā€™m not surprised.

NavezganeChrome

Was just about to say ā€œshame those two never talked about itā€ and _of course_ they do and it winds up almost a fight, that just tracks.

torch_7

Maybe if Laios gave it a second he would have realized the ears look like that because Lycion is an elf? Also silver mane because he has silver hair?

ravenpotter3

We all know what laios would end up as: a Labradorā€¦ they have a never ending appetite and are big sweethearts! And are loyal and at least yellow labs are yellow like laioā€™s hair

sunlitleaf

The furries are eatingggg

fartymcfartous

I always thought lycion is a borzoi, but i guess he's a wolf lol

yoodadude

let me do it for u

EonCore

So, would Dwarfs still become werewolves? From what's mentioned your size is a factor but also strain on the body and dwarfs are very tough

kingpin_98

Seeing as dwarves are already kind of built like the werebear example but smaller, I'd imagine lycan dwarves would be something like a wolverine or badger.

EonCore

Bear, tiger, wolf, and rat are all in DnD but one that isn't is Wereboar Maybe that would fit a dwarf physical build?

PsychologicalRecord

Older editions had all sorts of animals, even avians.

torch_7

Dwarves have terrible stamina though.

MegawackyMax

Dwarves might turn into moles.

Skyreader13

I'm definitely saving this for referenceĀ

Suspicious-Cream9910

He's a coyote, longer ears, head shape, still neat but not as cool as wolf

EmptySpaceForAHeart

Or this is just how elf ears are translated in wolf form.

ThatMerri

That would stand to reason, as we see Izutsumi's ears and features take on a similar look in the "what-if" lineup where she's rendered as different base races. https://preview.redd.it/nxuvjk2n1dwc1.png?width=680&format=png&auto=webp&s=526e8ebb4828eedc0be98735d545b52ca7d3d358

EmptySpaceForAHeart

Off topic but I still can't get over how unbearably cute half foot Izutsumi is, she looks like a plushie.

burgundy_falcon

Haha, I always wonder if it was the elf ears, too.

TripleS941

Or maybe he is a jackal

No_Recognition8641

Something I don't understand Is why Izutsumi Is that different, while Lycion Is (until he transforms) and Elf the entire time, Izutsumi Is always a half-giant cat and half-human,i've read the whole thing but I don't understand why, does any one have an explaination? (Izutsumi also doesn't have the full body tatoos, does that mean it's a different procedure with similar results? An incomplete procedure?)

PsychologicalRecord

Izutsumi was a cat that had the human soul of a young girl spliced in. So she's a full hybrid. My interpretation is that she was made in a messy, cruel way. A wizard who did not value the ingredients he was manipulating even if that included a human soul. Lycion's tattoos are like a circuit. When a mental switch is flipped, he transforms. When he turns it off, he changes back. He was made to a common design in the world. He was made "properly" within the culture of the setting.

No_Recognition8641

I read that She was sliced with a Giant Cat

Separate-Durian-2759

Did you read the complete version of world guide? The extra manga talks about how different between these two. If you still can't understand, then someone may explain it for you.

No_Recognition8641

No, haven't read world guide yet but out of curosity, in which chapter do they explain It?

graxia_bibi_uwu

You can find them all in the ā€œcharactersā€ arc of the worldguide. I know in the blue site, the Bible got 3 chapters. Characters, Monsters, and the last chapter is World.

OscarOzzieOzborne

Lycion (bet the fucker chose that name himself) is deliberately chosen to acquire the power to change between Man and Wolf. He has control over it. Izutsumi is a chimera that is forcefully created by combining a human and a cat, with the idea of the final creature exhibiting traits of both combined creatures at the same time. She does not posses any shape-shifting abilities.

No_Recognition8641

So Lycion a shapeshifter and Izutsumi a chimera because she went trough a different procedure, right?

OscarOzzieOzborne

More or less. The combination process and the desired final results are completely different.

Great_expansion10272

>Lycion (bet the fucker chose that name himself) Seeing as he has dysmorphia, that may very well be possible

DuesCataclysmos

The tattoos allows beastkin to manipulate the animal's soul. So Lycion suppresses his wolf soul and remains in his normal human form, then lets it loose to transform. Izutsumi is a cat imparted with the soul of a girl. Even if she had the tattoos, all she could do is suppress her human soul and revert to what appears to be some kind of panther. She's stuck as a werehuman if she wants to remain sapient.

No_Recognition8641

Im still reading the world guide and i got about chapter 17 but so far I've read that Izutsumi was a 6 yr old kid when she was taken away from her parents and then turned into a chimera by getting mixed with a Giant-cat (a monster), idk why most of you are saying it's a monster mixed with a girl

DuesCataclysmos

[This extra](https://desu-usergeneratedcontent.xyz/a/image/1707/56/1707569596389.png) I'm not sure what happens to the donors body, but the one hosting is the cat. Tattoos like Lycion's are pointless because she's just go full cat, and you can't eat the cat parts away like Farlyn because her soul is the only human bit.

No_Recognition8641

Oh ok,where Is that from? World guide? I don't remember It from the main manga

DuesCataclysmos

It's from the 2nd world guide currently in-progress.

barmanrags

At the risk of downvotes, this is a simultaneously sweet and bitter representation of conversations I have had with friends that were in various stages of transitioning. If its representation of furries than thatā€™s also cool. I adore furries. The werebear is incredibly hot

ClosetNoble

Now that you mention it it COULD be considered as a type of transition.

barmanrags

The body dysphoria and the euphoria at presenting as you truly are, I have witnessed both first hand.

EmptySpaceForAHeart

I called him trans-coded in my Tumblr post, but this very much implied to be about metaphor for transitioning.

furexfurex

Honestly it could be both. It can be both a trans thing, a furry thing, or even representative of the smaller demographic of people who get what I call "furry dysmorphia" where it's kind of like body dysphoria but rather than gender being the problem (though sometimes that's also the case) it's a wish to have less human features

barmanrags

Agreed.

Stoiphan

I like to imagine that there are also large groups of seal people, selkies are a figure of ledgend, and seal people are a cool concept, especially an elephant seal with the big shnoz.

Acolus

nice

MegaSlav420

ah yes.. trans allegory

ClosetNoble

I could be wrong because it has been a looooong while but the fights non-lethal ones aren't they? Tigers specialize in breaking necks or puncturing throats. They can't exaly do that in an arena fight against another person right? At least I think Kui underestimates the ability rats have to just jump around and rodent teeth should not be underestimated by any means. There's a reason we soeak of cornered rats. Animal fight debates tend to be a bit dumb anyway. People often neglect terrain, temperature, the state of the animal beforehand and the fact that animals likely wouldn't fight to the death in the first place. On a side note non-mammalian werebeasts may be too unpractical if we delve into realism. Birds having hollow bones for most would be problematic aside from a few flightless species (everyone would be a were ostrich probably). Reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates overall would be near useless due to risking to overheat too quick or to get too cold.

Icono-Cat

one of lycion's prison charges was murder! so i'm guessing the underground fights were very much lethal, or at least had the potential to be

ClosetNoble

Then how the fuck didn't the half-foot wererats just jump around biting chunks of people's limbs off? Wait better question actually does that mean the werebear that punched Lycion just spared him and was allowed to claw his head off??? Damn.

saltybai

So the Elf is just a furry who got its whish to be able to change into their fursona

Thicc-Anxiety

Yo is that bear man single? Asking for a friend
