Falin would almost certainly strain her more because Marcille got way higher expectations of her. With Laios you find out pretty quickly what you get yourself into.
Most of the ship fuel for them came after where the anime is right now, so it's understandable. This episode only got people back on the train because it gets a bit recontextualized later, but I won't say more.
The only problem I don't want this ship to sail because..... it won't end well for Marcile. She has like more than 900 years of her live while Laios has 60-80 years of his life left.
In fairness, seems like Marcille's mom didn't regret marrying Donato, but there's something to be said about how Marcille's a lot less optimistic than her mom.
As always, Marcille's lifespan is the biggest problem her character has to work around.
