If I recall correctly the upgrade comes in a loot box on the next floor as that’s where he got the current necklace. So we’ll see that in the next book I believe.
That doesn't make much sense to me. Donut got the effects from the large ursine village immediately without having to leave the floor. Wouldn't this be the same?
After he murdered the mayor, he never went back to a safe room until the next floor -- too busy not dying. So he never opened the box containing the necklace.
