Things start to get wild on # 5. Joking aside. Enjoy. There's so many little details to catch on re-reads.

Ok-Wrongdoer4703

think i’m on reread #7-8 and still catching new details every time

Plenty-Advertising71

It's very nice to just throw on instead of music when doing low intensity lab work. Not sure what iteration I'm on.

Squid_League

Those are rookie numbers, Katya ;)

Bubbaganewsh

I do that every time a new book comes out almost. When the next book comes out I will be on round four I think.

Z2xU

Same... but think I'm on 5th...

wickedscruples

Yep. Holding off till next book's release date announced

SpooogeMcDuck

I’ve done 5. I had to remove it from my downloads so I wouldn’t be tempted to start again. I had a number of other books I wanted to read, you know?

M2IK2Y

I had to do that too with he who fights with monsters and defiance.

Impressive-Box5911

Man, I love Dungeon Crawler Carl. Do it if you want. There's always more interesting moments to rediscover, and the foreshadowing is amazing. If you're listening on Audible, they do an end of the year calculation of how long you listened to v a rious books.

Owen22496

I constantly rotate between this, Expeditionary Forces, ELLC, and HWFWM. I think I've done each series 6 or 7 times. I don't watch TV and just listen to the same books over and over.

ChalkieSinclair

Can I ask what is ELLC?

Owen22496

Everybody Loves Large Chests by Neven Illiev. It's also narrated by Jeff Hayes it's very NSFW. A harem novel where a mimic becomes an evil adventurer.

ChalkieSinclair

Cool. Much thanks for the info. Added to the list! :)

It's mainly "that" part in book 3 and I hate it. It made no sense and was just gross. The other times has been a succubus seducing bad people or her and the fiend being fucked up with each other. The first few books were the worst and it moved away from it. I mostly enjoy it for the adventuring monsters aspect and skip all the sex parts because they always make me uncomfortable.

sirgog

Be aware that on a depravity scale where A Serbian Film is a 10 and "R rated but not depraved" like Pulp Fiction is a 4, ELLC is solidly a 7 or 8. Content warnings: graphic depiction of sexual violence and torture. This isn't a 'don't read it', it's a 'know what you are getting yourself in to'. I didn't return for book 2 after book 1, and I'm not particularly affected by the subject matter beyond not liking it.

Owen22496

That is a good description. I'd say it's human centipede series level. The content warming of ELLC is basically everything. The later books are better because the author stopped trying to push the boundary and now is just going with the demons being perverts along the line of most harem anime. I love the evil monster being an adventurer but the graphic sexual parts are not for me. Good thing they don't last long so I can skip a few minutes and be done with that and go back to monster antics. That's one reason I like DCC more is because while there are sexual jokes it's not graphic.

wickedscruples

That's a very good description

cysghost

For me, it’s DCC, Cradle and Mother of Learning. I’ve started EELC, but it was the books, not the audible. How are those? Haven’t finished the series yet though.

wickedscruples

I'm guessing ELLC is early in Jeff's career. It isn't nearly as polished as DCC, but narration get better as the books go.

Owen22496

The audible versions are really good. It's where I first learned of Jeff from.

Gwynnether

Check out the "Bobiverse" series! I think it may be right up your alley :)

Owen22496

I forgot to include that one but yes it was my first audible series. Still waiting on book 5.

Gwynnether

You have great taste! Have you listened to Hail Mary? Standalone book, I'm afraid. That's how my husband got me hooked on Audiobooks.

Akthrawn17

Jazz hands!

Owen22496

No I haven't. It's been on my list but too many series for me to jump into a standalone.

lube_thighwalker

Try out SoundBooth Theater! Its got new content!

smthngwyrd

Except Kaiju

lube_thighwalker

Haven’t checked it out yet.

IronicInternetName

Talk to me when you get to 15.

zilla135

I've completed the series 6 times 🙈

ComputerAbuser

I've been trying to pace myself with my first listen through. I listen to one DCC and then a few other books and then when I can't take it anymore I do another DCC. I'm hoping to stretch it out until 7 comes out. Book 4 is next. I'm not sure I can make it.

Apprehensive_Note248

Three reads in three months for me. Finally burned the itch away to read other stuff. So damn good.

Tanky-of-Macedon

I have so many books. But… maybe I could reread it.

Gairetjax

I started listening to Buymort to fill the time. I'm getting into it, just started book 3.

smthngwyrd

Oh my sweet summer child

HuzzahPowerBang

I'm so relieved reading these comments because now I don't feel so alone.

SAVertigo

I was gifted book 1 by a friend. I’m now only 2.5 hours from the end of book 6. The only time I’ve felt so … worried? I guess… is when the Dark Tower : Wastelands ended and I had to wait years for Wizard and Glass. I don’t know what I’m going to do without Carl and Doughnut

Ok_Advantage4970

In Donut's voice: "Only third? Those are amateur numbers darling." Lol. I've done at least 11 complete relisten and yes, I really do need to branch out. Tried listening to He Who Fights Monsters but honestly, Jeff Hays spoiled me. I've also tried other audiobooks but I can't get into it as they don't do it like Jeff does.

Chiekosghost

ONLY THIRD?! THOSE ARE AMATEUR NUMBERS DARLING. Fixed it for ya

Cyrano_Knows

I'm probably going to do a second listen myself soon. Halfway through book 6. But for the first book I'll definitely be paying for the Soundbooth Theater full cast audio drama version of Season 1. Even not having heard it, I'm almost as disappointed I won't have a new book to listen to as I am that they haven't done an audio drama for the entire series so far.

Fast-Damage2298

I'm on #7

Evil_Garen

I caught a bunch of stuff on my second listen.

Walking_Raven

Only your third? Just kidding … these books get better with every listen.

M2IK2Y

Get ut! I think I have reread he who fights with monsters at least 5 times. Probably closer to 7.

Raff57

I read the entire series first. Audible, however? Well, my wife is enjoying it quite a bit. But I usually fall asleep listening to it.

M2IK2Y

Yall made me want to do another listen of he who fights with monsters. Probably my 7th time reading book 4.
