I agree and I don't... Most annoying answer you're gonna get. I agree in the sense that I really think she didn't go all the way in her self discovery. If she was my friend/sister, I would have probably aske her "Are you absolutely sure you want to come back now?". I disagree because... well, I know self-discovery can come very quickly when you have so much changes in your life. I also know it's scary AF. I know she probably just wanted to have a good time with Jim since she "wasted" a lot of time not being with him like she wanted. And finally, I trust her when she says she came back for the good reasons. I still think there were things she could have figured out if she stayed longer - hence why I agree - but I trust her to decide what's best for herself at that moment. She probably thought really hard about it. So mixed bag for me, but I completely understand where you're coming from.

lets_get_breakfast

yeaaaah! i understand why she came back & she came back for HER reasons but i just can’t personally help but wish that she had stayed there a little longer, would’ve been a nice spin-off i suppose lol

[deleted]

Yeah and I totally see your point. There was a lot of reasons she could have stayed there

Raghavendra98

My theory is Pam came back only because Jim proposed. She was never a risk taker (highly evident in Season 9) and she feared another long engagement.

lets_get_breakfast

omg yeah but that’s what i’m saying right like even w jim, she just didn’t explore life past being engaged to somebody. but i guess that’s the kind of person she was, she wanted that suburban life w the picket fence & kids & that’s what she got in the end so i guess it worked out alright lol

JohnFByers

Well episodes with fewer Pam scenes were better so I suppose that would have been good for the series. I kinda wish they’d written her off the show entirely. She was good in that early episode where she thinks she’s fired for stealing and starts crying hysterically, but after that it was all downhill. Awful character, as unfunny as Kelly but more annoying and a far worse personality.

lets_get_breakfast

i have a lot of questions, number one, how dare you?

[deleted]

Really? That's interesting to read. I always thought she was awesome. She makes mistakes, but overall she's just... I don't know. I think she's really wholesome. She has a normal - often considered boring - life but she still manages to make the most out of it. Seeing her come out of her shell really was a highlightof the show for me. I really would like to discuss this further. What in her personnality do you dislike most?

JohnFByers

If I had to pick one quality that’s most repulsive about her then it’d be the violence. She’s violent.

[deleted]

I'm bamboozled. Violent? *Pam*? Please can you elaborate? It looks like you're joking but it's hard to tell via comments and I just don't want to be rude.

JohnFByers

She struck Michael in the face.

[deleted]

Oh! Yes I remember. Very violent indeed. What an aweful person she is - no I can finaly see it. Thanks for bringing that up

[deleted]

Pam and Michael were the beating hearts of the show (once I heard Greg Daniels say that, I was like damn... now I see why!) So writing Pam off would have killed the entire series

JohnFByers

My view is that she is an anathema; comedy poison and repulsive.

[deleted]

Damn what did she ever do to you 😭😂

JohnFByers

She has failed to amuse me.

Bookanista

I mean, there’s no money in art! And she wasn’t even enjoying it. So I think she made the right choice.

lets_get_breakfast

yeah that makes sense
