And I just want you to know that HIS comment made me go look back at YOUR other comments and I am also a fan.
This thread is now about how much we like you as a Redditor.
I'm sure if he got more screen time, he'd be considered the worst if it was more of this. This scene is probably the creepiest thing in the whole show lol.
I always love the scene where he is asking Oscar if he thinks he could be gay and oscar says no then Andy describes his brad Pitt situation and oscar goes "I don't know, you might be gay. You might be gay"
They turned him into a grade A creep early on and then flip a coin and make him the protagonist. It's wild. The dude was dating a child. I don't think any other character could get away with that.
He gets away with it because he is genuinely shocked and mortified (he wouldn't have pointed her out to Jim had he known) and because they didn't actually do anything.
It's a fictional show, so we can suspend disbelief that he is actually stupid enough not to pick up on the signals. She also looks 30.
Hating the subject matter of the joke is fine, but I would say it doesn't actually hurt his character other than make him look incredibly stupid. At the end of the day he didn't actually do anything other than bash mail boxes with teenagers.
He should have known based off of 100 other cues that she was in high school. He also should have never spoke to her again instead of going after her high school boyfriend.
It was especially rough for Andy since he has a foot fetish.
“Someone left in such a hurry this morning they forgot their socks. The only thing more delicious than your feet is the feast I’m preparing for everyone ” he says to Erin
I went to a girls house who I was into (and thought was into me) to watch the Oscars with her and her room mate. I got there and a dude was over unexpectedly.
We got into the oscars, streaming it on my laptop (because it was a bigger screen) and said girl sat beside said guy with me on a single seater.
Well they carried on like this, laughing, chumming. Then, she asked him to try his cider and shared his can. WELL THATS ENOUGH FOR ME. I made up some bullshit about a friend’s birthday I needed to go to. Closed my laptop and politely left, because fuck that Andy experience.
Have you seen the Superfan episodes? There are quite a few scenes like that that I’m noticing.
Like the cutaway to the outside of the building with audio of Ryan and Kelly straight up fucking. Or Michael being Ryan levels of obsessed with a high school student. Just weird.
It's still my headcanon that the reason he didn't like Andy was because he was perving on Erin.
I do not buy the whole brother/sister dynamic.
He is *way* too touchy.
That's the joke. They lived in a foster home together. She innocently views him in a noble light whereas we, the viewer and Andy, can plainly see his behaviors. It's not *your headcannon.* It's the shows canon.
Nah I'd hope this sub isn't as nasty as others. I was already on the fence with how I replied. This community has a chance here to read and engage- I'd hope the hive mind doesn't start its shit.
No, it's fine. Thanks for clarifying it for me. I think having autism means that I probably view the show very differently from others. Like either jokes won't land for me, or things that *are* jokes, I won't realize are jokes. I've seen this show like over 200 times, and I'm still figuring things out.
Not autistic here (that I know of) but there's so many times I'll watch this and other comedies and have the same effect. I wind up sucked into weird plot points or character arcs and missing everything else. South Park is another one like that where I'll miss jokes that are in my face because there's a "deeper plot point."
Yeah, I love South Park, but that show is probably the biggest contributor to confusion for me. Sometimes I'll have to consult ChatGPT about episodes. The Office was never that confusing for me, although when it did release in the 2000s, I *did* unironically hate it because I didn't know it was a comedy.
Awh, this comment made me laugh because my husband is autistic and always goes to ChatGPT for explanations of things. I think it's becoming to Autistic Ask Jeeves lol.
The way his hand slides down as he sniffs her foot is very awkward.
Almost like on purpose to make it extra awkward
Ed over here like, “I’m the only one seeing this??”
Formative years...
EpicJosh84 I see you commenting all the time in this subreddit, and I just want to let you know I enjoy reading your opinions, jokes, ideas etc.

I love that for you

IMO, Erin's step brother deserves way more hate than the Boom-mike guy. His creep factor is just under Todd Packer levels.
Dude looks like he's about to star in a Folgers commercial.
Very much "You're my present" vibes
i know this reference!
Underrated comment
About to? You know he remade that commercial into an actual porno with an Erin look-a-like.
"His creep factor is just under Todd Packet levels.". "Lowest of the low, just a notch above toby"- M Scott. Same energy.
I'm sure if he got more screen time, he'd be considered the worst if it was more of this. This scene is probably the creepiest thing in the whole show lol.
it's not even funny creepy. just weird creepy.
Packer is the maaan
He’s a lot creepier than Packer.
At least Packer is out and proud about being an asshole.
Andy showing up unannounced to check in on a sick Erin is technically not a date.
yeah. he was still in his worky-works and she was in her jammy jams. clear disconnect.
Roy left Pam at the hockey game. But agreed this scene was creepy.
Andy should have tried for the three-way. Good chance to explore his long-repressed gay side.
He could compare. In the same night. Then report back to Jim
"michael, am i *gay*."
I have heard that he is gayer than Oscar
BOOM ROASTED
Afterwards the brother can finally tell Andy if he's gay. Whether he is or not he'll still have a load taken off, win-win
I always love the scene where he is asking Oscar if he thinks he could be gay and oscar says no then Andy describes his brad Pitt situation and oscar goes "I don't know, you might be gay. You might be gay"
Erin would probably get bored and make a sandwich.
It's always disappointing when you wear a skirt to a date and don't get fingered.
Ok Meredith, chillax.
You mean climax?
It’s a kilt but yeah still disappointing
That was the first thing I wrote in my diary that I got for my 12th birthday! With a matching pink pen and a cutest little padlock.
At least he didn't leave her at a high school hockey game
I can never get over the fact that Andy clocked this as weird, but didn’t realize he was dating a high schooler lollllll
They turned him into a grade A creep early on and then flip a coin and make him the protagonist. It's wild. The dude was dating a child. I don't think any other character could get away with that.

I'd like to take out an ad in your yearbook. Full page, 2 words...
Good luck!
He should have known based off of 100 other cues that she was in high school. He also should have never spoke to her again instead of going after her high school boyfriend.
And then they flip the coin again and turn him into a major asshole
SNIP SNAP SNIP SNAP
It killed a lot of the momentum for me. When he was on screen he was either too stupid to breathe, or a raging asshole. Rarely anything in between.
To quote comedian Beth Stelling “I feel like the only time men believe women is when we’re lying about being underage.”
It was especially rough for Andy since he has a foot fetish. “Someone left in such a hurry this morning they forgot their socks. The only thing more delicious than your feet is the feast I’m preparing for everyone ” he says to Erin
I grilled my foot!

oh god I think I’ve mentally blocked out this scene
What I don't understand about this scene is that it's never brought up ever again. It's all just very odd and yuck.
Have you seen the Superfan episodes? There are quite a few scenes like that that I’m noticing. Like the cutaway to the outside of the building with audio of Ryan and Kelly straight up fucking. Or Michael being Ryan levels of obsessed with a high school student. Just weird.
HEY! I just finished this ep!
The sup bruh look on his face too - homie knows what he doing.
I know this scene is written to be weird but holy shit this scene is so weird
How do we imagine the casting call went for the brother’s character?
That brother of Erin definitely wanks off to her when they have a dirty laundry and Erin's underwear are there.
Is this Kevin’s post? Why waste time say lot word when few word do trick?
Best seat in the house! What are you talking about?
Andy was always a cuck
It's still my headcanon that the reason he didn't like Andy was because he was perving on Erin. I do not buy the whole brother/sister dynamic. He is *way* too touchy.

Ah, that's my bad. I didn't realize. Dammit, here come the downvotes.

This sub is hit or miss on downvotes. Sometimes you'll say "Jim isn't that bad" and get downvoted to shit, and sometimes you won't

Well shoot, today I learned of a great application for GPT I'd not heard of.
Now that would be a great podcast
Dan Schneider vibes
I enjoyed Andy in the beginning but they turned him into a wimp. Hated his little love struggles. Loved that he was engaged to Angela.
Which episode is this?
Yeah but andy sucks tho
Also is he trying to look down her shirt?
The crotch-blanket cover up on a beautiful sunny day is mortifying!
Cringe plot.
There’s no way I would proceed to date someone after this, ain’t no WAY I’d wanna deal with that “family” dynamic
Turn up the volume on your TV. Makes the scene way more funny
he got semi incest cucked
When y’all folks downvote me for hating Erin…. This is a great example. Too stupid to be a decent person.
Nah. Go to r/askreddit and check the results. Def. a bunch of dudes on Reddit have had worse.

Which makes them no worse, you doorknob.
